Custom Roms don't work after updating to Oreo - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Ive updated my phone to Oreo after previous issues . and now the only roms that work are ones that are like the stock rom (Maximus HD) and when I try and install a Oreo custom rom (Pure Fusion , AOSIP) It doesn't read my SIM card and saying that its not in the phone when it is and my home button does not work when I'm on a rom thats not Sense
Anybody else having this issue or have a solution

This has been discussed endlessly, you need Oreo firmware for Oreo roms. You need nougat firmware for nougat roms. So you flash a nougat based custom rom on a Oreo firmware.......no go

install a stock based ROM(6.0) after ResurrectionRemix (7.1.2)

Hi guys,
as I said in the title I have flashed the Resurrection remix on my zuk z2. The rom is great but the camera is just bad. I would like to install a stock rom like the francko86 or similar, but I wonder if there'll be any problems due to the different android version. In fact, when I installed the RR I previously had flashed the Stock nougat rom with no gapps. Do you have any similar experience or knowledge that can help me out?
Thanks a lot for your time

You have to go back to 6.0 first.
Best way to do so is flashing Stock 6.0 via QFIL.
So you have to unlock the Bootloader again and stuff.

Oreo bootloader question regarding LineageOS

Hi,
I am currently still using Android 7.1.1 and wanted to try LineageOS or any custom ROM but as they all start with Android 8.0 my question is if it is absolutely unavoideably necessary to have an Oreo bootloader in both slots to use LOS or could I use the Nougat one when everything else is from an Oreo firmware?
There are several design and general changes that I absolutely not like about Oreo so I wasn't able to stick with it.
Can the bootloader be downgraded to Nougat or can Nougat be flashed with an Oreo bootloader in case I don't like LineageOS?
Kind regards

You need to understand how custom ROM development works. LOS 15.1 is a work in progress....stabilising but not stable, and not official. P will be next year probably as it will take time to get sources and generate compatibility with our now increasingly obsolete device.
You seem to expect too much too soon.
Advice....don't ask but watch the scene. Keep a patient mind and you will get rewards
Oh and....sound will NEVER be on par with a stock firmware (Hades is stock based)

twrp problem

hi guys
after updating my whyred to latest miui pie version i m unable to mount my any of partition though i could flash another rom.
could any one having solution?
thanks
To install any other pie based AOSP rom firt u need to download TWRP that supports both the pie and oreo firmware (latest pitch black will help) then you have to flash first oreo firmware (don't worry about ARB just flash firmware) and then you will be able to install any other aosp ROM.
Yep I'm facing the same issue even after using the latest version of PitchBlack Recovery.
thnks a lot bro

This is a simple thing brother if you want to use a pie firmware based rom than flash latest pie firmware and than flash pie firmware based rom. But be careful your recovery must have to support pie firmware based rom . Right now only recovery that support both Oreo and pie firmware based rom is PITCH BLACK latest vertion so I suggest you to install this recovery for simple installation.
Let think you have install pitch black recovery....
1. Download 2 firmware :
(a) 9.3.14 firmware (this is the last Oreo based firmware you will need this if you want to switch back to Oreo firmware based rom from pie firmware based rom ) just flash this firmware than Oreo based rom
(b) another one is latest firmware it could be any after 9.3.14 firmware. All of those are pie firmware so now since you are on Oreo based firmware rom you have to download latest firmware and flash the pie based rom ( you don't have to flash fairmware every time if you are moving on another pie based rom but if you want to switch back again to Oreo than you have to follow (a) instruction
I guess this is everything you need to know.

Really appreciate your response. Am grateful. Will go ahead and try it. But any major advantage using pie ROM with pie firmware over using pie ROM with Oreo firmware.

Hey buddy I was searching for this thread for ages please answer my question
I am on Miui 11.0.3.0 ROM.I have orange fox recovery installed, I want to downgrade to miui 9.5.19 oreo (Dont ask me why i am downgrading). Can i flash miui 9.5.19 recovery rom directly via recovery. If i want to move to pie in future should i do the same.
Summary is Can i downgrade/Upgrade to Differnet android versions ( in this case 8 to 9 and vice versa) via recovery method.
And please tell me the difference between Fastboot and recovery ROM in terms of their content meaning what files are there in fastboot rom which are not there in recovery ROM.
Thanks help will be much appreciated
Re: Sidgup1998
Of course you can.
The latest offical MIUI Oreo ROM version is V10.3.1.0.
You'd better to flash the latest Oreo MIUI ROM.
Then downgrade to MIUI v9.5.19.
For downgrade, I recommend using fastboot method.

So downgrading to 9.5.19 via recovery directly from 11.0.3.0 is not recommended
I downgraded my miui 11.0.3.0 ( pie firmware) to pixel experience 8.1 just by flashing the rom then flashing miui 10.0.1.0 firmware (or any Oreo firmware) and success
