SD Card Corrupted - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have Galaxy Tab s SM-T700 8.4. The operating system (Android 6.0.1) reports that the SD Card is corrupted, no matter what sd card I put in. I've tested multiple micro sd cards with various formatting, and every card I insert comes back with the same error: Corrupted. When I select to format the card in device, it says it's formatted and ready, but still reports corrupted.
I installed TWRP on device, and it *can* see the card (64 GB, formatted: exFAT, 32K) and data on it (see photos).
What can I do to fix this?

First try reinstall of stock firmware, if that fails, factory reset.

SD card corrupted or ROM provlem

Hello,
There seams to be a provlem with my SD card. I have an imation 16GB class 10 card. I bought it from ebay (not a really chip one) and i am a bit ambigious about its reliability.
It happened me twice to connect either the phone as a USB mass storage or the card directly from a card reader to my PC and afterwards my SD cannot be recognized by the phone. Whatever i try the android does not recognize it ... and i have to repartition it.
The strange thing is that the CWM recovery recognised the corrupted FAT32 partition when this occured. I could even restore a nandroid backup which was installed without problem except from the "Empty SD slot" message ...
Also my windows recognize the FAT32 partition.
Do you think that this is a provlem of my SD (bad sectors maybe or corrupted partition tables) or a bug on the drivers of the ROM that mount the card?
Have you tried doing a slow format and run a diskcheck on it?
Also, it might be your system corrupting it if you remove it without dismounting it first.

MicroSD Card problem

Device: HTC One M8 Bell
Firmware: CM13 Nightly
Recovery: TWRP
Android Version: 6.0.1
Security Patch: April 2, 2016
So lets start it off like this, I had this 32gb lexar micro sd card that I have been using for quite some time. I decided it was time to get a new one so I went over to amazon and bought a well regarded 64gb patriot micro sd card to replace what I have in my phone. Once it arrived I unmounted the lexar micro sd and put in the patriot micro sd. I had this strange message pop up instead of it going oh hey lets set up your storage I got unsupported lexar sd card. I decided to tap on the notification and run the sd card set up stuff multiple times and just ended up getting errors that wouldn't allow it to be mounted. The phone is detecting the new patriot 64gb micro sd card as the old lexar 32gb micro sd card. I took it out and threw the card into my desktop system running windows and boom 60 gigabytes of micro sd flash detected everything came up fine it was partitioned and everything. So I decided maybe the file system is wrong and since I couldn't format in android storage settings anywhere until the card is set up I did it in the TWRP recovery where the card is fully detected and works fine. I can move files to and from it and everything without any issues but as soon as I go into android I get unsupported lexar sd card. After a while of having no luck at all I just decided to flat out wipe everything through recovery except the micro sd card and do a fresh android install and see if any system files in android were causing it. Here I am sitting in android with this brand new install with the message in notifications "Unsupported Lexar SD card" I have dug through system files tried wiping the cache for external storage. Nothing is working I have no idea. I really do not know what it causing this. Is there anything else I can try to see if I can fix this? Thanks.
Try formatting the SD card on your PC. Folks sometimes have better luck that way, than using the phone to format.
I have tried that already in multiple formats too, I ended up leaving it in fat32 since well that is the standard filesystem supported. I had no luck with anything I even reformatted it on my phone later with twrp because I thought the filesystem windows gave it was an issue. Nope it wasn't, I still have the same unsupported sdcard error. Something really weird though, I took out the new 64fb micro SD card that was having this issue and put in some ancient sandisk 2gb microsd that I have lying around, it worked fine. Android popped up with setup for the card. I still don't think something is wrong with the 64gb patriot microsd like twrp sees and and everything that it in it. Files can be moved around and so does windows just not android

"Fresh Android install" meaning what? Did you try a different CM nightly, or another ROM (like Sense)? Maybe just a bug in the particular CM nightly.

I reinstalled a newer version of CM 13 Nightly and before that I did an advanced wipe cleaning all partitions except for micro sd, usb-otg, sd-ext. I left the micro sd because it had the cm build on it. However yes I did also wipe the micro sd card card just earlier in the day, the problem still persisted once in android.
Have you tried a low level format ? and/or partition-table reset on your SD-card, it may fix it

External SD Card not detected with MM

I upgraded my T700 to stock 6.01 Marshmallow today. I installed TWRP and rooted with SuperSU. Everything looks good, except that my external SD card is not being detected by the Tab S. This card has been working fine for months.
I tried using a different, freshly formatted card, but it's detected either. When I go to Settings>Storage I see the internal card, but no indication of the external card. If I boot to TWRP, the card shows up and I can browse through the files.
After removing and reinserting both cards and trying everything I can think up, I'm out of options. Should I try using Root Explorer to create a mount point and force the external card to mount? What is the mount point name used by Marshmallow?
Any other suggestions??
Maybe the card file system has been corrupted some how, if you have a notebook and an microsd adaptor format it to fat32 then see if it is detected, if it is detected format it on your tab-s before using it.
John.
The original SD Card reads fine on my desktop PC. I formatted a different card as fat32 and put it in the S Tab, but it doesn't see it. As I said, when I booted into TWRP the card is recognized. I'm thinking that I might flash MM again and see if that makes a difference.
OK, I flashed 6.01 again and this time it's working ok. I think the problem before is that I was using the FolderMount app and when I started it, it deleted a mount point. Everything looks good now.

D855 doesn't detect the micro sd card - both in OS and in TWRP

Hi,
so, the other day my G3 was often shutting down the screen on my RR 7.1.1. so I decided to flash an update. Wiped everything excl. external_sd slot. I selected the flashing zips and ran the flash. It blinked super quickly and then it restarted (no flashing). Now TWRP didn't recognize the sd card. In selecting storage (Internal Storage, Micro SDCard, USB OTG), Micro SdCard showed 0MB and refused to be clicked (only vibrated). Same behaviour was shown in the Mount menu (couldn't even click the SD card). There were always sdcard and external_sd card for actual card folders, so I think that was normal. The card was 128 Samsung Evo card, so I thought that it was maybe the formatting issue (though I never had this behaviour before) I formatted it to FAT32 (was exFAT), and inserted the flashing zips via usb cable. Then weird things started to happen. Sometimes Android saw the card (for like maybe a few seconds), tried to scan it for corruptions, gave me option to select is as external storage device, and... the device basically disppeared. It works on other devices, and it gives the same effect no matter what card I put into G3. I don't think it's a hardware issue (as said, it works from time to time - it even gave me once an option to format it after saying it was corrupted and then I was able to see the files), but I don't know how to fix it from TWRP and OS standpoint.
Any ideas what can I do to make my LG read consistently external sd cards again?

SD card doesn't work after installing Pixel Experience on Redmi note 8T (willow)

As the title says, after installing PE onto my phone my sd card stopped working. After putting it into my laptop it shows up as a very small G: drive and a Bigger H: drive. Is it because i installed the rom through the sd card? It still shows up in TWRP but the phone itself doesn't see it. I tried formatting it through my PC but it didn't help.
Edit: I just formatted it as flash memory, i can store my photos, download files and store Spotify files like normal, so i think the issue is resolved. Thanks to everyone for your input!
Format through recovery
Can i just format the card or do i need to format the entire phone?
Alright, i formatted the card through twrp but and the phone does find the card but when i try and format it as phone memory it shows me this error "Attempt to invoke virtualC method 'java.lang.String android.os.storage.Volumelnfo.getld)' on a null object reference"
I can only format it as flash memory

Take the card out, reboot your phone, see if it can boot without the SD card.
If it can boot without the SD card, use the microSD card reader to connect to PC and format it.
See if it helps.

download LLFT
go to low level format
enable remove partition and MBR
format it
format it again using windows (EXFat)
then try it in the phone
if it still dosn't work = that rom is ****
FWIW, Bootice on a Windows PC has also helped me in similar situations...
Uhh, it should be fine.
