We finally have PE treble thanks tobthe devs.
My main concern is regarding the stock kernel with new treble update. All i want to know is the best setup for the new PE rom. I am on non treble version and here i am using PE+heliox+boostv7+ubercool and the performance is unbeatable.
So i was thinking what will be the best setup for the latest treble update..?
I've tried treble kernels but kronic is still best. Wait for next update, i hope many problems would get fixed.

First flash -Factory to vendor zip
Then flash treble twrp
And finally flash the rom.
Shouldn't this question be asked in the PE thread it self?
Anyways, just for information, I too have this same question. Myself a big fan of the old PE, indeed it has given me the best performance so far.
Presently waiting on AiCP 13.1 and I am following the PE thread to note down who is suggesting what and known good setups.
I guess reading the thread is better idea rather expecting everyone to contribute in a seperate section. Many may not simply come to see this thread or take the extra hassle to pen down twice !!

No one is sharing the best setup. Everyone is asking about their problems in the thread. So i made a different thread itself.

I wonder if that means no one has found a satisfactory setup yet.
At least I concluded that and stayed on AiCP for the time being till all the answers about these common questions and solutions for those problems are found.

when making the thread you have to select from dropdown about what android version you are building so android O is probably not available yet that is why he selected N.
Is RIL working good?
I can help test this ROM if calling, etc is working
How long we can expect a next update? And are you looking forward to supporting this rom in the future?
Thanks for the work.
Volte is not working .
Hello thanks hogger,
There's something called courtesy. When it's really clear that Davide was working on AEX and fixing things, it was a bad move for you to post a build with his sources before he posted his build. He is focusing on quality and trying to fix all major bugs before releasing instead of giving people half baked stuff. So I'd suggest you get this thread closed and not pull such stuff in the future.
Regards,
Another person who was able to boot oreo but is waiting for Davide to release his stuff first
So far, loving the ROM. I've been waiting for this ROM for a long time now. And here are few things
Cons:
VoLTE not working
Recents tiles are inverted
Camera doesn't work as expected.
Heating can be expected.
Pros:
Smooth for an initial build
Android O, period
Its simple and clean.
Hi sir,
Your work is amazing, i can't even imagine how you managed to fork my great and better than you fellow friend Davide's device trees and compiled the rom.
Truly amazing sir.
I admire your work, I still can't think how much brains would it be needed for making an unofficial thread even when Davide(my great and better than you fellow friend) didn't gave a word of quitting the AospExtended.
You are truly awesome and Davide's(my great and better than you fellow friend) work will not be as good as yours i think.
Thanks a lot for your true hardwork rather than Davide's(my great and better than you fellow friend) simple bug fixing work.
Thanks again.
I wanna donate you rather than donating hard working Davide(my great and better than you fellow friend)
Regards,
Harvey Spectar

Dear Admins,
Can we have a separate section for oreo related moda, apps and themes... This will ensure users from installing unsupported stuffs as wells as to avoid getting bricked/boot loop. This can also be used as a one stop place to look for oreo related stuffs...

really ...anyone who gets a brick because of not reading a thread certainly shouldnt be xda or even messing around with the phone in the first place. just stay stock if you wont read
We survived finely when Nougat was still new, so what makes Oreo special?
There's simply no good point to making a whole section for a particular version of Android. The same thing can be done simply with a proper thread title.
The problem isn't purely on the lack of separation of sections — It's the 5 seconds attention span that most seems to have because they can't read the first post of the thread they're in or they're too busy looking at butterflies and they ended up destroying their device and/or data inside the device.
I know we can't fix people, but that doesn't make for a good argument for creating a new section.

As stated. This is not gonna happen. If you cant do the proper research needed for what you are doing then you shouldnt be doing it in the first place.
I disagree with OP - there shouldn't be separate section for Oreo stuff. Ask yourself - what would happen, if released mod would be compatible with Marshmallow, Nougat and Oreo?
Okay, now that's not going to happen. But what can happen is in every thread the op can state the supported android versions first or the rom's android version first and then state what is the thread for (rom, mod, source code...). Something like "[7.1.1][ROM] Resurrection Remix 5.8.4 SomethingTweaks Edition" and not "[OH YEAH BABY WE SUPPORT COLOR ENGINE] CrazyManiacLunatic Tweaks". All the OPs should first give the supported android version or the rom android version then state what is the thread about and then write the rom that they are based on then write the name that they've given. But they MUST write the android version and the thread's reason to exist at first. Because this way when you are looking for an oreo rom you just have to look inside the first bracket and find it quickly instead of checking each thread's name to first find out where is the version and then looking at the version.

Yeah that is not gonna happen either. This gets brought up every few years and the answer is always the same. The devs can name their threads anything and any way they want. Heck they don't have to encludes any info at all.
People seem to forget that this is a developers site. Not a rom site or a support site. You are expected to do your own homework and have all the info you need before flashing. That encludes how to use command line to recover from something bad happening.

Well, developers love mentioning how they won't take responsibility if anything happens in every single thread over a million times but they seem to forget that people are looking for most basic info in the OP post. Developing can only be achieved if you acknowledge something and share it with others. The progress can not be achieved without information. I'm not going to flash a rom just to see if it is a Nougat or an Oreo rom. And I'm not going to flash all versions of modems to see which is the right one. Developers and maintainers must inform casual users or other developers about what is they are looking at. Sharing is caring. Not everybody likes to use something they don't know.

I am a retired mod. My job allows for me to always be lurking around. Every couple of hours or so I check my email and catch up.
Been that way for as long as I can remember. Heck I used to be on far more in the early years.
Is there any estimate, when will the custom roms arrive?
On Monday, 4:12 AM
Real time is like 3 months ig for first stable ones.
Is this even a question? Sir, you'll need to wait for the devs to release here or go to their respective website as you probably know it and ask there on their telegram channel about your question. From there, you'll get your answer not here
Soon
i can compile TWRP for poco f3 but i don't want to use my device as guinea pig also i'm scared of bootloop also not confident enough on my skill compiling TWRP <: i guess ill wait for official twrp release for it

This is a question because I am not asking about a particular ROM or anything. I am just asking generally that how much time is taken after the device is released to the public for the CUSTOM ROMs to come out.

I get it your question is general, but you must ask your question to the proper ones like directly to the ROM Developer or ROM Telegram Channels, from there you'll get your answer not here. Try to look back for the devices which already available now in the market then try to research when each roms was published or announced, what is the date or months margin between the device was released/announced versus the when the specific rom was announced/released to the public. From there, you'll get your answer, I'm trying to help you dude. Sometimes, to get some answers to your question, you'll need to research it or google it. Google is available, google is waiting for you.

Not yet. They are right now test first custom rom with open source vendor and kernel.
most of the devices worldwide are still on lock bootloader because of the 7day xiomie restriction bleat,
I saw hentaiOS on telegram waiting for my poco f3 to unlock bootloader and flash custom roms

Where can I find it?
Are there any custom roms?
The only custom roms right now are miui based.
I'm currently on MiuiMix which gives me sort of a mediocre upgrade to the stable global version.
However you might have noticed an alpha twrp just came out and there are telegram groups you can join now, so you can expect things to get better from here on (I hope I think I know)

Like I said, it's not that big of an upgrade.
For now it brings some features like double tab to sleep and some UI changes.
Battery and fluidity are pretty on par, so nothing to go crazy about.
Magisk being built-in is somewhat convenient though.
I would say, if you really want to try out something urgently, go for it.
But if you want something really different from your current Miui, wait for proper AOSP / LOS based custom ROMs

Sorry boys. I was working on it but I saw Jaguar Rom and decided that was about as good as it was gonna get. I own a company and it would have taken me an eternity to do it on my own with what little free time I have to dedicate to it. Jaguar does a fantastic job of keeping your data safe. Just download the vanilla version without Google crap. Install Aurora store if you need to restore any apps you got from Google. I've been using it as my DD now for a few months and I have to say, it's legit. I'm not gonna list my credentials or anything as most people on XDA know me by now, but I would say that if you think I'm wrong, please download the rom and try to find a problem that Graphene would fix. Hell they even let you relock your bootloader on Jaguar. The phone can die and your alarm will still go off if there is enough battery to start it and sound the alarm. The dev ( @optimumpro ) is super cool and was very helpful with some of the things I needed help de-goggle-fying. I highly recommend it. I'm sorry if I got anyone's hopes up. I will be asking for the thread to be closed now as I have no intentions on developing this rom as I feel it's redundant.

Where to download Jaguar for 7T?
Another rom similar to grapheneos available for op7t is divestos.org which is based on lineageos but implements several privacy and security measures and allows you to re-lock the bootloader

I am the developer for Jaguar rom. Unfortunately, it is not available for Oneplus 7 series, although, I can build one for 7s, if there is sufficient interest.
Also, Jaguar for Oneplus 5, 6 , 8s and 9s has been available for many years and certainly long before DivestOS and GrapheneOS ever appeared. Just look at my profile: you don't get 14700+ 'thank yous' in a year or two. (not bragging, but rather stating the fact).
Sure, OP was discussing Jaguar of op7t which doesn't exist. That's why I was asking about it. Besides e OS, LOS18 with microg, DivestOS (fork of LOS19), yaap vanilla, flamingo vanilla, op7t does not have any other degoogled rom

I have built a trial version of Jaguar for Oneplus 7T. Please test it, since my phone is Oneplus 8.
OOS-11 (not 12) is required in both slots. Installation is the same as Lineage. Don't forget factory reset before the first boot.
Rom: Here
Recovery: Here
Kernel Source: Here
May or may not boot, but even if you boot, submit a logcat (let it run for a few minutes).
