[Root / Recovery / ROM] ZTE N909 / N909D

I own a ZTE N909D. Because there is not much data available in the English forums I want to gather everything I found out in this one thread.
Basic specs
Screen size: 4.5"
Screen resolution: 854 x 480 pixel
Processor: Qualcomm MSM8625Q (Arm v7)
Original Android version: 4.1.2
N909: single SIM / N909D: dual SIM
Root
In the past I used vRoot, which nowadays is called iRoot - I did not find any correlation to the i-products so far There is also an apk-file available, thus, you do not need a PC for rooting. What I did not like is the Chinese superuser-app. That one can be replaced with whatever you like (don't forget to uninstall the Chinese afterwards).
Searching through the (Chinese) forums I came across a few recoveries, which are working on my D-version, although they were created for the single SIM variant:

For the dual SIM variant I did not find any updated ROM newer than Android 4.1.2 until now. The single SIM version has several custom ROMs available.

I bricked ZTE N909. Can you help me to unbrick it? It can boot to stock recovery, but every time update fail and factory reset stuck at logo after restart? Do you know how to boot in fastboot or something else? Can you please upload stock restore files to try with it?

Not exactly sure what is failing during the update. But you can try the following:
* Install a custom recovery
* Download either the original update package from ZTE N909 Taiwan ROM or a custom ROM version
* Install that ROM
As you can boot into stock recovery, you can also try to clean/erase all partitions in there or you do it via TWRP. The usual way going to fastboot (with the phone switched off) is by pressing and holding power + volume up (or down). In fastboot mode connect your phone to USB and open a command prompt. If you only want to test the custom recovery use "fastboot boot <image.img>". If you want to directly flash the custom recovery use "fastboot flash recovery <image.img>"

I am working on it trying with Marshmallow for now, because to my knowledge that it the latest supported version for our old Qualcomm device. Pls be patient as I am not that experienced with compiling and just try it for fun

Quick update after a long time: I patched the original kernel v3.4.0 to v3.4.113. Trials are still ongoing if something screwed up doing that. Especial the bluetooth files caused some issues during the patches because ZTE uses different variable-names than Linux.

Lenovo vibe x2

Hi guys!
I have buy a new lenovo vibe X2-cu from etotalk.
I'm not able to backup the stock rom, to upgrade in the second time, to lollipop.
I have try sp flash tool, but don't work. (I have read carefull the guide in this fantastic web site)
I have discovered for lenovo X2, factory mode, meta mode.
I have already download a lot of roms for this mobile and the files are very different from MTK droid tools.
Can someone try to help me?

Well, I dont have the sprout 4 version but I found a site which might help. I have a sprout 8 version which I hard bricked recently but this site helped to fix it. As I'm a junior, I can't share the link. Here are the steps - Go to google and search ''Micromax A1 AQ4501 flash file''. Choose the third site (gsmxda). Then follow the instructions there. Hope it helps

Doogee S90 Rooted with custom recovery

Hello,
I have successfully rooted doogee s90 with twrp installed.. There is one issue,, every time twrp is started, it asks for password,, I try entering password but it shows error..temporary workaround is to wipe data in order to use internal storage on twrp...issue is due to the fact that phone is encrypted and 'no verity patch' is not working... It is showing error 1 while flashing....how to remove this or disable password protection in twrp??? Any help would be highly appreciated

Does anyone know if there is a ROM for the Doogee S90? I think that phone has so much potential. The GMRS radio rocks but the translations offered in the apps are the funniest thing in the world to read.

I tried, it worked, booted, notifications and other things worked very well, but what didn't work is the sound. Neither when playing media nor ringing the phone. Has anyone encountered the same problem?

I had to buy an other phone cause my S90 is unusable : most of the apps can work once and never again .I tried to re flash the official rom ,same thing ...
(The official rom has been deleted from where I downloaded to or is not the good one .
I tried GSI but there's not enough place ,in TWRP ...
Doogee isn't able to give us an official rom ,I'll NEVER buy anything from that brand again !

Hey.... details and links to how you got the phone rooted and which OS you flashed? I have the s90 and want to upgrade the OS. I'll deal with your sound problems....
