Hi,
in my area, there is no good mobile network coverage, so i have two sim cards of two different providers. Both are lte sim cards and have a data plan (flatrate). From my former smartphone, i know i can set up one card to use for data and maybe the same ore the other for phone calls.
Is this the same way with redmi note 5? Or can i use both cards at the same time and recieve calls from both cards without the need to change it every time?
If i have to switch the cards to use the data plans, is there a faster way, maybe a one click widget for the home screen to change?
When i drive around, i often have to change the networks, because of bad coverage for using the internet.
this phone also has same feature as your old phone, one for lte data and other for calling
So i can not recieve calls or sms from both of the numbers at the same time, only from the one i activated in the menu?
But both of the sim slots are lte ready? So i can switch the lte data from one card to the other - and i can get lte speed with both cards in both slots?

I saw some adapter cables some days ago, but canĀ“t find them anymore...
It was a small cable to use 2 sim and 1 sd-card at the same time.
Can someone give me a link or tell me the name of this adapters?

I am in search of a dual sim phone, and I consider the zenfone 2 a good candidate.
However, it is vital to me that the phone can support a data connection from both sim cards.
Obviously not at the same time, but to switch data connection from one sim card to the other, without having to physically change the sim cards around.
Is this possible on the zenfone 2?

This is possible but sim2 only supports 2g speeds.

Thanks, that's quite a disappointment.
I thought today most other dual sim phones do support 3/4G on both sims?

You will not get data on sim 2 due to Asus blocking it with their firmware. Even though they used an outdated and subpar modem for sim 2, it is still capable of data. Their Zenfone Selfie does contain a dual active dual sim with lte on both sims this their "flagship" phone however used inferior hardware.
Unfortunately this may not be the phone for you in particular if you live in an area such as the U.S. or in Europe where they are shutting down 2G, it's already happening. This "flagship" dual sim phone will soon become a single sim for many of us.
I've actually talked to Asus about this and was told this is their "Flagship" phone and it is "Premium LIKE". I asked what he meant by "Premium Like" and he said it was comparable to other high end phones with compromises made on using lessor hardware. LOL, it's a knock off then, no different than buying "Prada" bags out of someones car trunk. I've had to deal with Asus on a couple of issues with their phone and have to say, I would NEVER buy anything again from them.
So I got a LYF phone and Jio Sim with unlimited offer for 3 months. Works fine in my LYF phone.
I popped this sim in my OP3 and downloaded all the JIO apps. It even says VoLTE on the top. I'm logged into MyJio and JioJoin. It just wouldn't connect. The exclamation mark in the network bar wont go. And a notification that says 'Sign in to network; Jio 4G'. When I click on this notification it opens a webpage saying that I've exhausted my balance. I've read a lot of peoples' posts that Jio is in fact working on OP3.
Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong? I've even tried to reset my apn as to how it tells in the SMS.
My OP3 isn't unlocked and rooted.
The sim that you have is locked to the LYF phone and wouldn't work on any other phone (except some Samsung phones)
Only the sim phone tied to a Samsung device would work on your phone, afaik. SIM tied to LYF phone won't work on any other device.

I have a Jio connection which I took in May. After the 3 months they made the connection free to use with any other mobile. The speed I get is just amazing.
If u getting the sim for a Samsung mobile.. U need to use it with the Samsung phone and activate the preview offer. If not, there are many work arounds tutorial available on YouTube. I was able to activated a new sim with that work around.

Thanks for reply buddy... will you please share a link of trick which still works...
Mi Mix2 Global ROM MIUI 9 and Axon 7 Nov. 2017 Update.
Test condition - 1: Verizon post-paid SIM and Mint SIM (T-moible).
Mi Mix2: both sims can be in both sim trays. both can be active for voice call. obviously only one can be active on data. both sim gets LTE and VoLTE. when data is set to Verizon, Mint SIM connects as 3G (UTMS).
Axon 7: only tray 1 can work with Verizon SIM. both can work with Mint SIM. if put Verizon Sim on tray 2, no signal. both can be standby for voice. obviously only one line for data. when data is set to Verizon, MInt SIM connects as 2G (GSM). which might be problem for A&T as they already shut down 2G.
Test Condition -2: Verizon post-paid SIM and Xfinity Mobile (Verizon MVNO).
Mi Mix2: both trays can work. but only one can be active at one time, and looks like determined by data. when data is set to one of them, the other sim won't even get signal (shows emergency call only). but can switch between two sim back and forth no problem. so, not possible for dual sim voice standby with two CDMA lines
Axon 7: only sim tray 1 works with CDMA.
Will data still be connected when in a call using Verizon?

Thanks much for providing such a detailed comparison. I have a question regarding test condition 1. Hope to get some insights from you.
Assume that you set data to T-Mobile, and you are in a voice call using Verizon, is data via T-Mobile still connected? I ask this because phones such as Le Max 2 will have data disconnected when in a Verizon voice call.
HI,
I operate a Note Pro 5 in the UK on the plusnet network which uses the following bands / frequency's. I use the global ROM
800MHz band, the 1800MHz band, the 2100MHz band
Iam not having much luck with the 4G speed / connection. Iam wondering if that's because the handset does not work with these bands. No point reformatting my phone only to find out if the phone does not work with these bands !!!
Thanks
Mathew
It should work fine, as they use EEs network. I use virgin mobile that also uses EEs network and its fine. Have you tried amending the APN settings?

Yes you are correct Virgin and Plusnet both run off EE but its not that simple.
EE only allow some bands to be avalible for resale the ones I have listed are what Plusnet use.
You have pointed out something I should have done!!!! I have removed the APN and started from scratch I will try this for a few days and see what happens.

So from what I've read plusnet don't seem to offer the 800mhz frequency (EE/virgin do), but if your Redmi Note 5 is the global version it will work with all UK 4G bands (including 800 or band 20 if its available from your provider). Usually band 20/800mhz travels further and so tends to be used more in rural areas to help improve coverage. Were you connecting to 4g OK before or have you just changed to plusnet or just got your RN5?
Sent from my Redmi Note 5 using Tapatalk
Yes I thought that but have had conformation directly from Plusnet that they do use the 800mhz range
@MathewRB
Global version of Redmi Note 5 supports all frequences You mentioned. The only problem is that it doesn"t support carrier agregation (LTE+) which can lead to slow data acces when the transmitter which Your"s phone is connected to is clogged

@MathewRB
Yes it has. As far as i know Note 7 support LTE+ 2CA and pro version is 3CA

Thats a good bit of information looks like Iam finding more and more of reason (excuse) to upgrade to the 7 Note Pro. But when is the 8Note Pro due to come out any idea?
Just got this phone (specifically for root, would never use a phone without root. If root someday becomes unavailable for all Exynos models I will go back to using the super cool HTC touch pro! ? currently using the note 10+ sm-n975f 4g (single sim) on t-mobile and whenever I am on a call the data is extremely slow. And many times when attempting to load a a web page the call will disconnect lol I read that a lot of the t-mobile used network bands were removed from the international models starting with the note 9 , I assume this is the reason why the international phone is junk here in the USA ?
I am about get rid of this junk and use my old note 8 that worked fine all this time. I just thought I would ask because I can't seem to find any answer to this question online. Does anyone know if the 5g note 10+ (sm-n976f) work properly with t-mobile?
https://www.kimovil.com/de/wo-kaufen-samsung-galaxy-note10-plus-na-256gb-5g
perhaps there you find it.
Thanks but I can not read the language and web page translation is not working using auto detect language, what language is this?
Here:
https://www.phonemore.com/specs/samsung/galaxy-note-10-plus-5g/sm-n976f/
So You have the 4g model or 5G model?
The specs for the 4G model (SM-N975F) can be found here:
https://www.samsung.com/au/smartphones/galaxy-note10/specs/
By default it will list specs for the 4G model, but if you click the sub link for the 5G model (SM-N976B) you will see it supports 5G TDD Sub6: N78(3500)
Thanks for all the help, I just put my Sim card into a dual Sim 4g model and the network works like normal again during a call it before shows H and now stays at 4g.
so either the single sim has less network capabilities or the single sim was defective?
Hello,
it is German. Just change the de to en for english.
https://www.kimovil.com/en/
i have a 4G DualSim and a 5G Note 10 plus.
Both working fine with 4G .
Cool thanks for letting me know, looks like the single sim model is not as good or mine was defective
