Damaged XTRONS TE706PL USB connector, anyone got a picture to match up the wires? - MTCD Android Head Units General

Hi guys,
I've got an XTRONS TE706PL. Unfortunately I've accidentally damaged one of its proprietary connectors namely the one connecting 2 USB ports and all 6 individual wires have fallen out of the connector.
Could anyone with the same unit kindly take a picture or two of the connector showing all wires so that I may rewire it myself? I've had a look around the internet, but unfortunately the pictures are too low in resolution to be able to tell.
Thanks in advance

Thank you very much. I had contacted XTRONS then and they were kind enough to send me a replacement cable free of charge. I was planning on updating this Thread and posting pictures of the new cable to help anyone else, but you have done that now. :good:

Good solution for a head/earphone adapter

Hi all,
After reading some of the posts regarding headphone adapters for the XDA II (M1000 in my case) I was deciding whether to buy one of them or try to make my own up. My soldering skills are somewhat lacking but I thought I'd go for the latter.
I had three choices:
1) Buy some ear/headphones, take off the phone plug and solder that into the answer/hang up/microphone bit. Would work but would be stuck with that pair of earphone/headphones.
2) Buy a female phone connector, chop off the earphones on the supplied hands free and solder them onto that. Excellent solution for cheep (79p in Maplin!). Looks a little ugly tho cuz of the mahoosive gap around the cable going into the sheath of the socket.
3) Buy a headphone extension lead, chop it off near the female connector end and then solder this onto the PCB of the answer/hang up/microphone bit. This required better soldering skills than I currently have so that'll have to wait until my mate is able to do it for me! Will look better as the connector will be sealed tight to the cable going into it.
So, I lumped for option 2. And I must say it works flawlessly. I also have the advantage now of being able to connect any pair of head/earphones into it or even connecting it into my Hi-Fi/Car stereo/portable speakers depending on what I need!

ok so what part is this and where can i get one?

and not just the front facing cam i mean that entire assembly complete including digitizer, lcd screen and what ever else is in there
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
I take it you cracked yours?
We just call it the "screen". It's the LCD with digitizer pre-fitted. Earpiece speaker and front cam are not included, you'll have to transfer them from the old screen to the new one.
any idea where i can get one? anything i search for i only get lcd screens and digitizers. i bought 2 digitizers for $45 dollars before i realized replacing one was probably above my ability

That I'm not sure about??
bumping this if anyone knows how to determine a small cable from a wide cable
http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/HTC-Evo-4G-Teardown/2979/1
you have to open it, it's the cable nearest the charging port. if the bottom two are about the same size then you have the big one. hope that helps
edit:
also the smaller ribbon has the connection a little further into the board where as the big one you'll see it right on the edge of the board
ok cool so from what i remember when i did open it i would have the wide one

[Q] Must wrap cord in order to charge

Hi folks,
Been having this problem for a little while now and decided I'm fed up with it. My Verizon GN will only charge if I wrap the cord around it as such:

}
I have tried multiple cords and the problem always persists. Any suggestions on now to go about getting this fixed?
Thanks!
Since you have tried multiple cables.. It could be the wall piece of the charger not having a good connection around the USB, try a new one of those.
LOL....
sorry didnt mean to laugh.
1) the power cube/brick(where the USB attaches) might be faulty
2) the charge slot on the phone might be faulty
3) all of the above

How do I go about fixing this?
Appreciate the input!
It may the electronic where its charging. I recently moved out of an area where the power was bad and suffered a similar issue to a new area and now my phone has had issues
It sounds like probably the USB port on your phone is bad. Wrapping the cord around the phone must hold the plug in just the right position it needs to be in to connect correctly.

The only thing I noticed it didn't have golden color connector on left side.perhaps it is for GSM signals or to ground the circuit. But it is working without any issue.
GSM signals strength is good.
Wi-Fi OK
GPS OK
Share the pic of connector that you will receive.
Thanks from Pakistan

Does anybody know what this connector is for?

Opened an M8 to find this (circled and with the red arrow pointing at it) disconnected:

it connects to the bigger motherboard ( the one with the cpu and other stuff) connect the two wires so they dont cross each other
Thanks but that doesn't answer the question.
It's connecting the daughter board to the mother board.
It's hard to tell what it does exactly without proper documentation, you could unplug them, power on the phone and see what doesn't work.
If I had to take a guess then I'd say they might be connectors for the antenna or gps.
Thanks. I think you are right. I got a second M8 from Amazon and GPS hasn't working. When I opened it I found that disconnected at the MB end. Connecting it and powering the phone up resulted in a GPS that locks.
I thought it was for the SD card, mine stopped working after i had replaced the screen and didnt know why, when i disassembled it again to check this wire (or the one next to it) was popped off the connector.
I always thought GPS was the little tab on the very top that touches the frame once assembled (unless that is just to use the frame as an aerial)
