So I was wondering if someone here could tell me how I could get the full danish language with oreo with my S7 active. The issue I have right now is that it runs on nougat and danish is selecable as a language, however it ony translates half the things on the phone while the other half is the previously selected language. Is there any way I can maybe install the language from a regular S7 rom or similair?
I'm also curious, does Oreo come with full support for all the languages that are only half-supported on S7 active Nougat?
The original reason for lack of full support is, I think, that it was intended for US customers only, and as such only had full support for a handful of the biggest languages.

Figured, now the question is does anyone know how to install a full language pack onto the system? =D

I'm interested in purchasing this phone and would like to know if it is possible to add Hebrew and Russian languages to an English ROM. Is having 3 languages going to be a problem with typing through the qwerty keyboard?
keep in mind that Hebrew is right to left language (if it makes any difference :/ )
I used to own an HTC VOX and remember having a bit trouble with it. but then again, it was older OS.
Thanks in advance
Hi. I have HTC Mozart from Orange UK and I can not change English display languge for Polish.
Is no Polish in Settings -> Region & Language -> Display Language.
Any idea how to install it?
windows phone 7 does not currently support that language, so no there is no way of doing it. though i've heard of a homebrew application which will let you use a keyboard which has been designed for it, and with copy/paste around the corner, when the homebrew xap's work again afterwards, then you should see them appear.
the other way is with the bigger update coming 2nd half of the year which should bring official support.

But orange PL have the same phone with Polish languge...
I have this same problem
As far as I've read, Windows Phone 7 only fully supports a few languages for this first release (English, French, Italian, German and Spanish), and Polish is not included. If the phones at the store support Polish, then its possible that their display units were customized to support it, but maybe their Retail phones were not. In other words, WP7 direct from Microsoft does not support Polish, but it's possible that Orange or the phone manufacturer customized certain aspects of their devices, and you'd have to ask your carrier/manufacturer about those customizations.
I would suggest going back to the store you got it from and inquiring about it.
Also, the big update coming later this year does not include support for Polish as well.

But Spanish is not supported in all WP7, for example I cant set Spanish in an HTC Surround. But in a Samsung Focus I can.

that is the fault of the carrier/oem. it is actually supported, but for some weird reason they (carrier/oem) turned it off. hopefully MS forces the multi-lingual capabilities and it can't be override...

So this means that a registry tweak can do the job (enable other languages)? I am wondering why someone hasn't found it yet...
yes a registry tweak can fix it, but it would be for languages only already built into the phone. The additional languages that you're wondering about can't be enabled as they aren't in the phone. Though this is also a questionable statement as I remember seeing a homebrew application keyboard with a lot of support for other languages.

Thanks for the reply but wait. What I need in the HTC Surround is Spanish, it has to be definitely built in...
which is true based on versions in other countries. but yea, i'm not sure how to get it enabled. i wonder if you'll get it as part of the no-do update?

I hpoe so.
It disappointing that carriers still have the power to modify the system this much.
pls help to confirm me that the ONLY language the revolution & Leedroid supports is english with original ROM? i really need a chinese enabled one.
and the purpose i turn to customed ROM is for battery time extending, so kindly brief me the advantages for these two, especially in battery juice saving, thanks
any one help
Try MIUI roms...they are all chinese
I'm using Android Revolution and I can say that it supports Chinese, in fact in 3.1 it supports 3 kinds of chinese (don't know what the difference is, i suspect traditional, simplified and no clue about the 3rd one). As 3.2 is just out, I guess it should also have chinese
good luck with it.
thanks, i think revolution and leedorid are from official ROM, sure they get htc sense UI, which i like, so the optional MIUI i will pass.
i slip to tell, they supports chinese means also they can key in with chinese characters as above Dxue to say, with your explanations i will explore through the forum thread to find out

Android revolution supports chinese input as well , would be weird if it shows chinese but you cannot type it . there are 4 ways to input chinese characters, pingying, writing, with the 5 strokes and another I don't recognize.
(I'm a dutch chinese guy, so I use it sparely, but my chinese really sucks ).
don't know it this answered your question or not. if you need more info just ask

i get it, my friend, i am filing the treads and starting to flash this ROM, thank you
Hi, XDA!
I want to buy this device, but you know global version hasn't got NFC hardware enabled. So, I ask here if anyone has Chinese/NFC enabled and if it has global languages apart of Chinese and English (I want to enable Spanish and Russian, in particular).
So, apart of that question, I would like to know if anyone has taken advantage of NFC features and AI support out of Chinese market, or if knows future official/unofficial developments to enable and use NFC far from China.
Thanks a lot!
I'm not sure what languages besides English and Chinese are supported officially, but you can always flash this FW which contains Spanish and Russian - https://geekdoing.com/threads/international-firmware-for-mi-band-4.970/
As far as I know, it is not possible to use NFC outside of China (at least as of now).
If you install the notify and fitness for mi band 4 app from Google Playstore you can select from all languages. My phone language is set to Norwegian, and this was the only way to force the language on the band to English, but the app supports many languages.
I have this problem with the Google Pixel 3xl. I prefer only US English but no matter how I try I keep getting my local pigen English in some of the applications. I followed the procedure and changed the prefared English to US but I still get this local language on some apps. How do I get only US English on this phone?

Are there more languages than just U.S. English installed at settings -> system -> languages & input -> languages?
The problem apps, are they regional? Is it possible they are programmed that way and not relying on the device language?
I really cannot say, but one of the application is Mapmyrun a sport tracker and I guess that could be from the US

That's a pretty main stream app. It does or does not use the locale correctly?
