I really want to get the beta. If people are running it, is it stable enough for daily use? Thanks
I've been using it for a few days now. I've not had and crashes or major issues. The only issues I've experienced are the recent apps screen sometimes not responding to touch when using gesture navigation (hit the home button and try again fixes) and the screen brightness is stupidly bright. Like really stupidly bright. I use it on the lowest setting all the time. Even with the slider at about 10% the screen is way too bright for me.
It is very stable, no major issues....just a few glitches like no weather in lock screen.
Yes, even dp1 was very good for my usage...
I agree that it is very stable for its age. If you use the Nova Launcher, you will not see apps in the drawer right now.
So from the sound of it, it would pass for daily driver. I rely on my phone for work heavily and want to make sure I can get by with the beta because I'm dying to try the new version
For me.... Yes. For others.... Maybe not. I can tell you it is very solid.
I am finding it to be quite solid. No issues at all so far after a few days. Battery life seems good too.

It's been usable without any crashes, reboots, or shutdowns. But given that it just came out yesterday, using it only for one day doesn't really give an idea if it's stable enough for everyday usage. A week of usage would give a better idea as phone/app usage can alter per day and cause some issues.
It's just silly to label something as "stable" after running it for less than 24 hours.
Hows the mic on recording with android P?
Mines been going pretty well... I'm using it as my daily driver. Only issues is a rare freeze when trying to switch apps. Shutting off the screen fixed it for me. And once the Bluetooth wouldn't connect properly to my car...a restart fixed it. Battery and everything else has been good.

Daily driver ready? Sure.. I had to bail due to some unforseen issues with a few core apps that I depend on. Sounds silly, but my visual voicemail with AT&T is important. A few other apps are acting a fool but nothing major. Just found a few things a bit wonky, if that's the right word? I'll flash again tonight though, it's what I do! See if I can figure out what's going on with the visual voicemail app. On 8.1 it just 'verifies' my info with AT&T via a text. On P it asks for a PIN which I enter, but it never does much else. Interesting!! Way too far off to complain to ATT though...
If you use Outlook and OneDrive, you might have issues. Can't open either and just get crashes.

I dont use Outlook, but OneDrive works fine for me. Maybe try uninstall/re-install, or clear app data.
I rarely use the MS app though, I prefer to just use Solid Explorer to access OneDrive.
I am having great experience with P beta..getting a dope battery life too..for a beta build! But the only issue i have is.. Snapchat crashes as hell! Leaving that..very good one as a daily driver..and very smooth too!
It's been very good for me. No app crashes except for Snapchat, which can be fixed relatively painlessly through a clear data and relogin, especially with autofill. I've also updated it to the latest beta that they updated on May 9th. No other apps have FC'd so far, but then again you may be using different ones. All the basic functionality works fine, camera, settings, etc. Only hiccup sometimes is the new multitasking setup will occasionally throw up a small stutter, but it quickly fixes itself.
The only issues I've noticed so far, and they're not that bad:
1) Bug with the Nova app drawer. You have to use "Card" or "Vertical Scrolling" to get your icons to appear, otherwise they're invisible (but still "clickable"). It's obviously a Nova Launcher "bug" and not a Android "P" problem though. The stock Launcher (and many other 3rd party launchers) work perfectly.
2) For me, the "upcoming alarm" appearing on the lock screen or at the top of the new quick tiles menu make no sense on my phone. The upcoming alarm on the lock screen always shows the current time + 10 minutes (For example if its' 9:04PM, the upcoming alarm will show 9:14pm) In the quick tiles menu, the next alarm always shows "00:00am" or "06:00am" randomly. The alarms work normally. Cosmetic bug
Can someone confirm they're experiencing the same problem?
3) Here and there, you'll notice the animations can be sluggish and not as smooth as with Oreo, the screen takes a little bit longer to turn on and unlocking the phone with the fingerprint scanner is a little bit slower than with Oreo. It's not unbearable though, just noticeable
4) I have an "iBaby" monitor in my son's room and from time to time, the app will FC right after launching, but will launch normally 2 seconds later. I'll blame the app for that and not Android.
Otherwise, battery life is great, the phone is very stable (no FCs on Android processes and 99,999% of the apps I use), it feels fast (except for some sluggish animations I mentioned before), phone calls work, camera works great, Quick Charge works, Google Cast / Chromecast work, no major issues so far
Overall, it's pretty stable for an early beta and I wouldn't hesitate to give it a try, I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it a lot. All the small refinements it comes with already makes it superior to Oreo imo despite its beta status. Can't wait to give the DP3 a try next month
Samsung Gear doesn't work
Very good for me so far. Only been a day, but so far am actually liking it better than 8.1.0! Nothing making me feel that I'll go back.
Only thing - when I use Action Launcher, the back button never disappears from the navigation bar - even when on the home screen. Guess it perceives the phone as still having an app active.
Ah well, making me give stock launcher another chance - though I miss my covers and shutters ?

I'd be curious to know whether the thing that occurred with JPC on sim locked phones is still happening with this firmware - the product code changing and the phone asking for a network code. I really don't want to root my phone and go through the file copying again - I like it nice and stock-y.

First impressions best 2.2 out there at the moment. No lag, very responsive mind you not downloaded many apps at the moment. No market missing apps.
I find 2.2 is hardly as exciting as what people make it out to be.

JPH After 3 Hours Review:
Zero issues so far for me. I'm using the APK lagfix. Everything is nice and snappy (with and without the lagfix, although the lagfix seems to makes it better).
GPS seems to get an accurate lock very quickly indoors. (Started up maps, it found the nearest cellphone tower instantly with a 1km radius or something, then found my location perfectly after ~6 seconds. Going to street view once it had my location took my directly outside my house. Not the best GPS test ever, but it worked as well as any other GPS I've ever seen for that simple task.)
Compass seems to be as flaky as ever. This might be a hardware problem with my phone though, since the compass has always been flaky.
Blacks in videos seem as good as ever, and it played a few video files I gave it without issues.
Google market worked without issue, and wifi/hsdpa worked well. No issues with sdcards or anything like that either.
Internet browser is the best I've seen it, with flashing loading and playing smoothly without affecting speed on the rest of the page. Full page engadget with flash ads along the top and right side scrolled very smoothly after loading fully.
Games work the same that they've always worked (zero change, there aren't any games out that tax the GPU yet.)
I'll post a further review after using it for 24 hours or so.
Sorry to disturb your happyness and the overall enthusiasm
But.
Similar to JPC there is still an great Problem or Bug.
As JPC, JPH also dont sync tasks and appointments that are created with another app than the built in stock calendar
This is (for me, and for everyone who want to use the Galaxy seriously for Buisiness and Task planning) an absolutely bad behaviour.
I use Jorte and at first Quick Addroid for adding and editing Tasks. Because the Stock Calendar is to poor in Functionality and not very comfortable.
So if i add an Task with e.g. Quick Addroid, it appears in Device in all installed Calendar apps but is not synced with Google.
If i then edit and save it in Stock Calendar, then it will be synced.
Maybe, it belongs to changes in the code in Froyo, that ar not compatible with not samsung apps. Maybe the programmers have to fix it in their Software.
But also maybe that it is an Bug and Samsung have to fix this.

To be honest, I doubt this is a dealbreaker for 99% of people.
I think it would be classed as a 'minor annoyance'! As far as I know, syncing (google integration in general) has changed a bit in 2.2, so it's probably the app that has to be updated. I could be way off here though.
Scrolling trough the Touchwiz icons in the menu is very sluggish here. Eclair was way smoother. Is just me?

So far, so bad.
If this is (and i think so, as you) an problem of the apps, that ar not compatible with Froyo, then i hope they fix it asap.
For me is the proper sync of all Data and tasks absolutely mandatory. And so i have to downgrade (once again) to JM8
Very bad.
Much more because i really appreciate and like the new Functions in Froyo.

Is WiFi Router working for you? I just get on H icon in notification bar upload arrow highlighted, download arrow stays gray all the time and theres no connection on PC. On USB tethering i get few pings nicely and then connection is broken for few seconds. I have to try this with other FW, maybe it's my provider fault but maybe you have simmilar problem?
Well...then , not worth upgrading from JM8 , i guess
Uhhh, theres also problem with compass and calibration. Every phone restart they are changing to default which is bad and compass after reboot always shows that theres wrong magnetic field and it shows wrong directions.

Yes, working WiFi Router.
Going back to JM7. Samsung engineers and programmers are a bunch of monkeys.
GPS, FM MONO!!!, LAG, SLUGGISH SCROLL, mehhhh
Never had good experiences with Samsung products and support... they only want to sell, get OUR money, and then tell their customers to screw themselves.
Out of nowhere my GS3 is very sluggish. Swiping between home screens is jumpy. Some games literally run at half-speed. Launching apps can take quite some time. Etc...
I haven't installed any new apps since the last time I noticed it was running smoothly. I'm not really sure how to troubleshoot this. I've tried battery pulls, hard resets and clearing the cache from CMW. But nothing seems to work.
I was thinking that maybe an app had been updated in the background that is now a problem. But I can't think of a way to tell which apps have been recently updated.
Any guidance would be much appreciated.
Many thanks!

Factory reset, restore no apps. Check got lag. Add one app, check for lag. Continue until lag is found
And when you add an app back, dl it fresh from the market (no restoring anything).

One of the first things I thought of was that maybe Nova received an update that I wasn't aware of and it had broken something. So I tried TouchWiz and GoLauncher... all with the same result. Overall, the phone felt slightly sluggish. But some things apps and games became unusable. The new Rayman game literally ran at half speed. Other games would run at full speed but you could tell that control response was just a hair off. So you would end up walking off a lot of cliffs to straight into an enemy before you could get a jump off. It also effected load times on most things. Some apps that would load in 4-5 seconds were suddenly taking 30-40.
I can repeat this problem 100% of the time. I even tried toggling off the CPU option but Power Save still gave me the same issues (which doesn't make sense).
I have a completely stock never rooted GS3 and have had this sluggishness since the update. It happens when the screen auto dims, even though I have auto-dimming turned off. It also happens when I wake the screen up. I can't get the notification bar down or anything for about 5 long seconds; then it's fine until the shadow of my finger covers the front light sensor and the screen dims. It's almost like a hiccup. I'm going to factory reset this weekend. Was hoping to get Jelly Bean before I did so I didn't have to download all my apps again, and set all my settings. This is my first Samsung Android and it's an amazing phone when it's first started but after it runs for a few hours it gets buggy; so I'm pretty disappointed.
A note to anyone trying to solve this mystery: before the update I couldn't get my calendar to accept custom notification sounds, now I can. Since not everyone had that issue I'm guessing the software had issues since the day the phone was built. In manufacturing sometimes **** happens.
When in doubt pull it out . Oh I miss the BlackBerry Battery pull days to fix lag

Fede is actually working on a new update. No release date yet. LPP still works better than any launcher out there. I've tried virtually every launcher available, and always go right back to LPP. Who cares that it hasn't been updated in a year or more, it hasn't needed to be updated. It's flawless.

still on marshmallow. i am going to hand the phone over to my mother and would like nougat, but not if it's slow, glitchy, etc.
my battery life on nougat is better than MM.
no lag at all.
The Pros and Cons for my S6
I have recieved
Camera Force CLosing when trying to go the settings menu, from the app or through the app manager.
Poor charging rate, MM was faster or I mean 6.0.1 was.
No Root or Recovery.
Pros
better Style, and theme and more options for the flash light and blue light eyestrain thing. Cool UI, really speedy or fast.
It starts to lag a bit when the battery is dying or drained and then trying to charge and use it of course , that strain haha.
Only so much affect to me for my sprint phone but a website says otherwise that these are the issues right now.
Samsung Galaxy S7 owners are complaining about various Wi-Fi issues, issues with the camera, issues with sound/speakers, abnormal battery drain, Bluetooth issues, LED notification issues, lag, keyboard problems, installation issues, issues with SMS and calls, Theme Store issues, problems with WhatsApp, and various issues with Samsung Pass.

The Camera FC you are experiencing is probably because you didn't clear data. I just tested Camera settings and it is working fine for me.
I posted the root method yesterday here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71851657&postcount=26
I will try to write up a guide this weekend.
Battery... normal daily use without looking at a timer, it's the same but I would be surprised if it's a little better.
The UI is uglier buts it's a matter of opinion. Silly colored icons. Theming options a little better.
No lag or force closures of any kind.
The biggest and only con that really matters is notifications. Google is trying to squeeze more info in them. This makes the font really tiny. I find there is actually less useful information provided and an abundance unused blank space due to tiny font.
It's a new android version, it's best to factory reset the phone before taking the update. Especially if you are going to give the phone to somebody.

Must say I am quite impressed with the View 20. Have been using the Pixel 2XL for the last 13 months so was quite apprehensive about switching phones, and there are certainly things I will miss from the Pixel ie dual front fitting speakers, Now Playing and monthly updates.
I find the screen on the View 20 to be very crisp, at least to my old eyes, in fact I find it to clearer than the Pixel. The camera is very good, though I need to play with the settings to probably get the most out of it. RAM management seems very good.
Notification light is tiny, and you need to be looking at the screen head on to see it.
FPS is very quick, and has worked 100%, though I must say most of the time I don't get a chance to use it as the facial recognition is so quick.
Am using gestures for navigating, very smooth, at least with the stock Launcher, not so much when using Nova. Whilst they work, swiping up to go Home always briefly brings up the multitasking screen before doing what it should. The one annoying thing is you have to be pretty accurate when typing on keyboard at the edges as very easy to end up swiping left or right which takes you Back.
There does seem to be one bug I have found so far, and that is when switching apps, if you tap on the app that is to the side of the screen, rather than opening it, it drops you back to Home screen.
Only other thing I can think of at this moment is I can't get any notification badge on Gmail, either on stock Launcher or Nova (and all settings are correct)
If anyone has any questions or anything you want me to try, i will do my best to help.

The international version launched only 5 days ago. Did you get a hold of one and if so, can you share where from and what price so it benefits the users here. I am considering purchasing one via a friend (who is flying) from China but he is unable to find the international version there. I am wondering if Google Playstore and subsequently Nova Launcher can be installed on the Chinese version.
It was the international version, purchases in UK from carphone warehouse. 8GB/256GB. On their website at £579.99. They charged me £549.99
Also comes with a free Honor watch (via claim)

Agreed with the OP. Just got the same 128 gig unlocked, a couple of days ago. Coming from an S8 over the last 14 months. Must say the V20 is an awesome device.
Using the stock launcher with gestures. As the OP said, Nova does not seem to work as smoothly with gestures which is a shame. However the stock launcher with app drawer turned on is very good. Only annoying thing is I can't seem to get rid of the hi search which activated whenever you swipe down on any of the home screens. I never use it but can't find a way to turn it off! Any advice welcome!
Anyway the display, design, price point, battery life, are very good value for money. RAM management also very good. Very impressed and would highly recommend to others looking for a good deal.
To the OP: I've not had any issues with Gmail. Might be a software bug. Try clearing cache and resetting it maybe. Return to default settings.
Thanks mate, will try that. Can you confirm the issue with the multi tasking page. When clicking on any app that isn't centre page, it drops you back to home screen?

Just got my phone.
From India via Amazon, sadly i dont have an update yet so no Ai ultraclarity camera and also does anyone have any idea where to find that TOF camera trick for the dancing demo they did ?
Can you help me with video camera? How is 60fps? Does it look good or does it shakes a lot? Also what about night video recording I saw on the mate 20 it look bad lol thanks

Stock launcher gestures are definitely better than either Nova or Action Launcher (especially related to the minimizing app/multitasking screen issue - it's a shame that you can't modify the icon settings more than 5 x 6 to make the stock launcher icons smaller. They just seem unusually large to me coming from my Pixel 2 XL. Action Launcher is a good resolution for now (minus that multitasking screen swipe up).
Does your notification LED work either when the device is plugged in or when you receive a phone call/email?
I just received my version from the UK and no LED notification light ever comes on.
Yes, notification light works, but very rarely notice it as its so small

It's just small but it's there.
TOF Trick

You need to download Magic AR app from Huawei app gallery to use that dancing trick with TOF Camera.
Oh, so the multitasking issue is connected with 3rd party launchers. Good to know. I was using Nova launcher and had this issue.
The notification light is working, but it's small, not very bright and ideally you would have to look at it dead straight or from the top of the phone.
I have other issue though: can't get Netflix to play in HD. This phone's Kirin 980 is officially supported by Netflix, but I don't get HD badge next to the titles unfortunately. Other user mentioned that it works, but not for me...
has anyone managed to restore saved wifi passwords? I used the phone clone which copied all my apps/contacts/sms (did not include app data which was a bummer) but I cannot restore all my saved wifi passwords even after loading my google account, my old phone is set to back them up to google account, but this phone wont restore them. My old phone is rooted so I can see the passwords but I have hundreds and don't wan tot do it manually
My OnePlus 7T Global HD1903 was on stock OOS Stable for almost 3 years now.
I just decided to update to OOS12 Beta 2 (Indian) yesterday and overall, I like it!
Official update guide here: OxygenOS 12 Open Beta 2 for the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro
Improvements:
1. Stock launcher: now has Google Feeds built-in.
2. Stock launcher: can now lock home screen icon arrangements. This is especially a big deal for me because I always mis-swipe icons and accidentally rearrange them.
3. Game mode: swipe notification banner is now easier to use. You can easily adjust brightness now, which is what I always use when gaming.
4. WiFi and Bluetooth connects faster.
5. Mobile data: signal is more stable. This surprised me a lot because this is an Indian ROM flashed on a Global device. I live in the Philippines, so it may vary from country to country.
6. Fast switching between mobile data and wifi, unlike on OOS11 where there's around 3 seconds of delay.
7. More stable fingerprint scanning (FOD) so it feels faster too, unlike on OOS11 when there are instances that I have to try 3x before my fingerprint gets recognized.
8. Larger PIN input when restarting device and FOD is disabled.
9. Lowest brightness is now even lower. Very good when you use your phone in pitch black environments.
What's missing, and what can be improved:
1. AOD: still the same old crappy Sometimes On Display. My Oppo Reno has a proper AOD, which I thought would be implemented in this update.
2. Recents: app settings cannot be launched directly anymore.
3. Notification banners: button texts are buggy/cut (like Reply or Like). Although this is an Android 12 issue, OnePlus could have fixed it.
4. Stock launcher: home screen icons cannot be set individually. (I bought icon packs for this feature)
5. Stock launcher: home screen icons cannot be renamed anymore. (You can remove app names completely)
6. Dolby Atmos is now disabled when using built-in speakers. Ironically, I only enable them when using the built-in speakers to make sound louder.
7. VoLTE and VoWiFI
Bugs and Nitpicks (but not dealbreakers):
1. Very long boot time. Logo always stuck for 40 seconds before boot animation shows up.
2. Boot animation stutters (low FPS).
3. On standard home screen mode (drawer disabled), SIM Toolkit apps always show up on the home screen after every reboot, even if you put them in a folder.
4. Some apps think that the device/sim is Indian, so there are notifications telling you to enable Roaming. Just disable these notifications once, then they'll stop showing up.
5. Lock screen colors are still oversaturated when FOD is enabled (same with OOS10 and OOS11). This is why I just use a black wallpaper for lockscreen.
6. Stock launcher icon names can now only be removed completely (no app names on drawer too), unlike before where it only doesn't show on the home screen.
I finaly update myself... But I am little disappinted.
first of all, AOD on OOS 11 (oob5) worked perfectly... it doesn't work here... it just is.
I have a big lag when I want to use gestures, especially when I want to leave the gallery in the home screen... everything seems to be slower.
Third, the phone and phonebook app is now much worse... it's much slower to find a name in the phone book.
Fourth, the theme substratum does not work, pureblack for example, so the notification shade is not black as I would like it to be... and all the colors seem washed out to me.
Five, no advinced power menu any more... And no optio for clear cache in recovery
I use Nova and I like it....
High performance mod... is for me must be on

Thanks for sharing your experience!
Although mine is quite the opposite (everything is more responsive / no lag).
My device isn't rooted though, and I upgraded from stable rom. So ymmv.

When I turn off substratum... its now faster and feel like before... But I prefere black in dark mode and not gray...
Also I will disable... Theme Store and Work Life Balance (I realy do not need) and Scout... What is that? Do you use it? Sports (how to acces that app) ?
And I am realy frustrated with new phonebook/call app
EDIT: I still have this bug... with gallery app and only Gallery app for now...
When I swap from botom to top... to go to home screen... bacj is just fine... but going straith to home not working in gallery app
Do you know what is Onet app?
Is it India specific? Like Idwntificarion of Unknow Number (doea it work in eu) ?
Also is there any easy way like iit was on 11 to check/change battery optimisation for specific app... or I need to go from settings and to look for app in the hole list?

I also use swipe navigation but don't have that issue on the Gallery app. I can smoothly transition from Gallery to Home Screen. I uploaded a video: CLICK HERE
Regarding apps you don't need, there is an option to disable them in the app settings.
On the end... I find that my bigrst problem is notificstion lock screen. When I get notificstion I have it for first time, but if I unlock and relock without open notificstin at all... it disappears from lock screen.
Does anyone know how to fix that behavior... Notification not show on LockScreen?
And AOD, not working... All time.... on OB5 ti was working all time if you whant that. Here it just disappear if you do not touch or move phone. I disklike that behavior.
Also I find out that Tasker, or any other app on 12 can not disable network status (2G/3G/4G) even with root.

In the end, this is a HUGE step backwards for me... and many OnePlus fans who wanted something more and stuck to the Never Settle slogan.
Oppo Coloros is not usable with many applications and causes problems with an even larger number. Maybe at first glance it looks like it's moving smoothly and quickly, but it's just an illusion.
Tasker is just one of those applications and is considered one of the most powerful Android tools, but it is completely unusable even with Root on this system. Even the most ordinary things, which are useful to me, as it is. turning on screen rotation and screen time out for certen apps do not work. Let's not talk about some more complex actions such as norification and starting AOD when there is an unread notification.
AOD itself is very unreliable, I installed 3 different "updates" of the AOD application itself to get it to work at all.
The notification on the lockscreen is just a "masterpiece" it only works once when you receive the notification, and whether you read it or not, it will never appear on the lockscreen again, no matter how many times you unlock or lock your screen.
As a root user of a phone that supports 90Hz, I used to be able to always and in all circumstances use that option, now the screen is almost always at 60Hz no matter what you set and there is no longer a possibility to "force" the phone to always use 90Hz even with an ADB command... All this did not increase the battery life in the least... it even decreased it because the screen is no longer black (which I could achieve on OOS 11 using Subststratum pure black tmeme) but mostly gray.
I still don't have time to dedicate a whole day to wiping the data and going back to the good old OOS... but if you don't want to just have the number 12 in the phone info... and if you use the phone for anything more than texting and answering on calls, it's better to redistribute with old security patches than to get frustrated with Color OS.
Even the most common application, phone book and phone dealer, is a step backwards for me, although I could get used to it if at least some of the basic things that I am used to as a user would work.
Bluetooth, WiFi... Mobile Data... Signal strength, I really have no complaints, it all works great. Preinstalled applications work well and it's a matter of habit and personal taste whether you like the design or not.
But if you use Tasker, Huawei watch, or are a root user who is a bit more demanding... know that I Color OS is very restrictive and that 99% of things will not work as they did on OOS... Especially if you come with OOS Beta 4 or 5 which had AOD working and if you are used to it, I would not recommend you to waste your time and switch to Color OS.
The number 12 is not worth your time, annoyance and searching for a solution for what was working beautifully and smoothly, just because it is a number higher than 11.
On the end choices is yours... Just like it was mine when I done misktake and update.

Have you tried any custom ROMs such as Pixel Experience? What are your thoughts on them if you have. I grew tired of waiting for OnePlus to release a stable 12 and installed Pixel Experience. I am mostly satisfied with it, although battery drain is more pronounced.

Your #1 mistake was to dirty flash a beta software into an older android version.
Even on custom roms, that's a very bad idea.

Actualy, that doesn't change anything... It's Color OS... and all working just it work on cleen install. So I didn't make any mistake there, except the fact that Color OS is not for me or anyone who like freedom of OOS... When I decide to be restricted like I am on ColotOS, I will buy iphone.
So, does your clean installation act differently... lock screen notificstion, AOD, can Tasker change you system settings (turn on and off AOD if you have any new notification, for example), can you force 90Hz in all apps?
Because thats are problems... I don't have any fingerprint or any other system lroblem except it's inconsistent and undefined... it's doesn't have all android 12 theming and look but it's not OOS costumization.
Anyone know of a fix for no signal? It asks for Oroaming funds, but I have an unlocked One Plus 7 Pro converted to the Global Beta 2.
