custom rom - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Questions & Answers

Please i need a great rom good for gaming, with beat possible battery life. I am on aicp 13.1 and the SOT is only 3 hours. Please if you can help me suggest me the best rom with best kernel.

Citrus 3.5 by Miju is a solid rom for gaming. Check out the thread for the link. ViperOS is good, too, but I find Citrus performing better in the gaming category.
Avoid Oreo based roms for now as they're not really that good for gaming plus "The best possible battery life" that you're seeking.

Just do one thing, after flashing rom & gapps in the twrp, don't flash magisk.
Reboot
Setup the device
Install tez - setup your account
reboot to recovery - install magisk
The tez will be working even after flashing magisk.

I don't think so you can do anything about it. Are you using any tweaks or mods with the rom ?

No i am not its just the stock rom. That's where i need help. Any tweaks you might suggest to increase the performance as well as battery.

I can't say much about it. Either use some other rom or change the kernel. I feel Citrus Caf's stock kernel is the best. You can use boosts mod by Gustavo maybe it'll play some trick. I can't be sure about it.

Best kernel for battery life on Open Beta 27?

Curious. Running latest Blu_Spark right now.
stawp with the kernel questions. Different kernels make very little difference in terms of battery life.

Naw... Probably just annoyed with battery life/kernel related questions.
It's the same boat for "which ROM is best for such and such"; $h!T hit's the fan with long time xda members when questions like these comes out.

Last time I tried to flash on OB25 I bricked device and had to go to mega unbrick guide, lost all my data cause soft unbrick didnt work, had to do the full one. I got it working on OB26 with a certain thread forgot which one. You basically had to download some bootloader+firmware and I believe you had to set SELinux to permissive although I think it worked without setting permissive. I have the bootloader on hand in a folder, but not the firmware. I can flash Magisk quickly without all that to test if it does, although I doubt it will. brb.

If you want to eek out some battery, you can disable touch boost completely, I have and I cant tell the difference, some might disagree but you can try it and see how if it works

It does lead to lagg tho, touchboost is there to help the CPU responding quickly to load and provide a smoother UI experience.

If I read the linked thread some people facing more battery drain after flashing and others say that these build.prop tweaks didn't work anymore.
And the the uninstaller link don't work so not really recommended to try this..
Whats your experience with this deepsleep tweaks before and after?

new user/battery drain

Hello everyone, i just got this phone today and I have faced some battery drain with 7.1.1, so i updated oos 5.1.3 and there is still battery drain, any advises to solve that? Thanks!
Did you clean install 5.1.3?
I'm running 5.1.3 and Franco kernel and my battery is the best it's ever been.

I o thought the root, rom and other stuff belong to rom and kernel section. Since it's discussion section i thought i can seek for some rootless help can't I? Correct me if I'm wrong
Go discuss your incoherent english somewhere else. This forum is for developers and people that want to flash different things to enhance their experience and device. You are here talking about your warranty, you're in the wrong place, friend.
OP, try a factory reset.

Franco kernel without any tweaks and SOT. U r getting ..?
OP, you could try pinpointing an app that's keeping your device awake? How's your battery graph looking?

What ROM /kernel are you using ?

Since I like customization I like to flash custom os, right now I have pretty bad batterylife.
What ROM/kernel are you using ? I know batterylife differs from person but like to flash a ROM with good performance and batterylife.
Atm with bootleggers and elementax
Cheers guys!
Hi Krabban !
I'm using it as stock android 10, I think the battery life used to be good on Beta Q6. now with October's update it is not like it used to be -using the same apps- but good enough to complete my day with 4G on and communication apps and 2h of playing hard games.
how is it with u using different kernel ? 'cause im thinking to re-flash it and root in order to use a custom kernel.
Just Flashed havoc with built in kernel illusion . Gonna test for a couple of days. Need edge gesture since it's really handy to change music in Spotify while driving car
I'm looking for a custom based on android 10 but too early to find any

That AOSiP one is the same one slothdabski posted here https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-3-xl/development/official-aosip-9-0-t3894660/page94. Install instructions are on the previous page, but read the rest of the thread after. The build was completely generic and multiple apps would not even be send root permission requests so didn't work (AdAway and TiBu for starters). It was definitely not ready for prime time, and that beast10 one was from the same day. I wouldn't be really hopeful. It is interesting using fastboot/fastbootd to install though.
