Overheating and rapid download - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

good guys I am new in this community, I am Venezuelan and I have the following problem with my galaxy s2 t989 my phone is downloaded very fast using it lasts about 2 hours as much?
and it tends to get too hot to the point of not wanting to touch it
when wanting to charge it on the phone also heats up and starts to download instead of charging ...
the phone when I connect it off to the charger tends to turn on by itself and I have to disconnect it and connect it several times until the battery comes out that indicates that it is charging off without problems
I need help urgently please I love this phone but I can not enjoy it
I have already tested Android 2.3.6 by odin also 4.1.2 by odin and nothing official rom all.
I have never installed 4.4, 4.0.4.5.0.5.1, etc ... :llorando::llorando::llorando::llorando:

[Q] Xperia S Jelly Bean overheat and battery drain

Well, hello everyone I'm having this problema with my xperia s since I got the Jelly Bean update the battery drain really fast firt I thought it was firmware thing since in some parts of the world there was alreay the .211, so yesterday I decided to put a ROM (this one) and results that my xperia starts to overheat and battery drain even faster that in .200 firmaware, I just want to know (or if there is any solution) who else is experimenting this problems. I had a hard case my GF told me to take it out, cause a friend of her had the same excat problema also I read on internet that its normal when OS update to have problems with the battery drain that the solution was to charge the phone to 100% and the let it discharge to 0% and then repeat the cycle 2 or 3 times more, but im not compleatly sure about that, what can you tell me? Thnx in advance and sorry for my bad english.
cheers

it takes 2-3 complete battery drain to complete charge for a rom and kernel to become stable with your rom if that rom still causes ur phone to heat and battery drain...try this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263625 and if u have unlocked ur bootloader go for this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2309770
Heat and Battery drain
First of all I don't think that the Hard Case has to do anything with this..
secondly in the Initial stage, the ROM gets to settle down and uses lot more energy causing the phone to heat and draining battery..
P.S. you may find more relevant answer in the ROM thread that you've installed. try searching it there... :good:
I am also facing the similar issue. I have installed some custom ROMs, however my battery showing mysteries.. draining is very very fast!!!
5% per min.

Battery serious problem

hey guys,i have been flashingmany roms every week for about 2 months, then I decided to start fresh.
wiped every thing via cwm and then flashed stock rom via odin, then rooted it.
problem is battery is as fast as HELL , and i have sudden drops, e.g. phone shuts down suddenly at 30% or even 50% , and when i connect charger it shows 0%.
tried battery calibration but no good.
I bought a new battery , and my phone still have sudden shutdowns when used for more than 30 minutes.
even offline.
Is my phone damaged ,or it has permanent leak ,even i change batteries?!
plz reply ASAP , and btw i dont have a screenshot cuz i am using stock 2.3.6.
I recommend you to go to a Samsung Costumer Service and ask for help. I think is a hardware issue, not a software issue.
Also, to use screenshot on GB, use Volume down + Home button.

Must be hardware. If the battery change doesn't quite cut it, then its a hardware problem.

[Q] Possible inscresing battery life & performance?

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum , my first thread here , so be nice , etc.
My first touch phone was a Samsung Galaxy SII back in 2011, that the phone was working perfectly until I saw all the themes on the web , downgrades , upgrades and such. I accidentally kill my unit twice, So I had to file it for $ 35 I think. Today, I can not charge it at all, in the hole where you insert the end of the charger for it to start charging , where loose it. It may fall out out cell phone at any time , so it 's no use I use ODIN anymore.
The third time I killed my Galaxy S2 I bought the Galaxy Nexus the day after, I was so happy, it's the theme I always wanted and blah blah.
But after almost 7-8 months, it slowly ........... Slow responding when typing , slow to open applications , lagging on any games that should not be .
So I decided to downgrade to Gingerbread 2.3.5 for maximum longevity takes less on device performance.
BUT ! I do not do it directly on my Nexus , since I dont want to take the risk to kill it, so I wanted to downgrade my galaxy S2 from 4.1.2 to 2.3.5 , becase I do not even care about the phone.
And my galaxy lose few perfect for a few minutes without using it , so the charge would be pointless .
My GF also has her own GS2 , and we charge my battery with hers phone that way.
now days i dont care about the theme or design, just a performance, and the delay is my enemy.
But any idea?
My nexus is really slow, and I want to increase the battery life ..
And i am not sure that i want to do a wipe data, wipe cache..
And i have another question, on my galaxy, i have no fastboot, how can i install it? I've doing huge research and stuff, if anyone know alot of this stuff, phones, firmwires and such, please, could we take this private @ skype or anything you like.
my skype is muspru @Skype
Beucase i can have my help much easier from there.
I am having a headache trying to read your thread....
So what exactly are you trying to do? downgrade gnex to GB?
if thats what you are trying to do, i would recommend against it, the phone come with ICS, and you can upgrade it to 4.3 via OTA, it is MUCH faster than ICS judging from personal experience.
If you want to save battery, simply flash a custom kernel and UC/UV it, i didnt even UC/UV, using fancy kernel / CM 10.2 rom, and my battery doesnt even take a hit when idling, unplug 7am everyday, and i have around 100-99% around noon.

galaxy 8.0 wont charge, isnt rooted i was getting to root it i had files ready.

I haven't use my galaxy note 8 for a while so I figured i would get it out and root it so , samsung sent an upgrade and i was preparing to root.i put it on the charger it started flashing like crazy and went dead . No charger is working . it worked fine right before,. i remember we had i an issues awhile back with it flickering and shutting down.
you have to replace the battery with a new battery

Help please on my redmi note 8

Help please.. i updated my note 8 in the latest version 11.0.4 global version and
I recently experiencing slow charging.. from 6-8 hrs of charging until its full
But the worst is when i turn off my unit (totally) it wont charge
No battery bar or anything.. please help
Thanks for the feedback
Help me please.. is it software fault or hardware pls give me feedback thanks
Well i'm on 11.0.4 Global too from the day that it came out and i don't face anything similar, the charging speed has always been really fast as the first day of usage.
Plus, you're asking for a feedback but it isn't that simple to provide one since that you've provided no further details about the situation: by what i read at the moment, you've encountered this issue only after that you've updated the device to the latest build, but on the same build this doesn't happens by my side. Do you face other issues other than battery charging speed, or not?
Now, assuming that your charger is in an optimal condition and that the phone never felt to the floor that hard to compromise battery status, are you sure you didn't made ANYTHING else that could cause this? Facing a slow charging time on stock ROM and stock charger it's really weird and if you didn't touched anything else, i just can't find an answer to justify this behavior in stock ROM.
Hi Lads,
i recieved the same bug after updating to 11.0.4.0(PCOMIXM). The device is only online since december, so quite young
What did i done so far:
- Loaded a the Ampere App to check if the smartphone regonize the chargeingcable correctly. It does
- With the app i was able to see that the current while loading is between 100mA to max 450mA.
- I switched the charger to an Qualcom Quickdash Charger here the current jumps sometime up to 4400mA but only for seconds before falling down to 10mA
- I did a factory reset twice. First with replaying the googlebackup, second without googlebackup. With no difference. Still stucking on 100mA
Is there a possibilty to get back to a earlier Version of MiUi?
Next thing i'll try is to load the smartphone over the weekend to get more then 40% battery so that i can try to switch to a custom rom.
