This thread is made to give feedback about @Arnova8G2's Google camera versions
To report a bug:
1. Write the bug you experienced (if the bug is already known, please don't post the same bug again)

Looks like my front camera doesn't work at all. When I put it to hdr+ enhanced the app just crashed. When hdr+ is on either the app doesn't process the photo or I get a completely green picture. When hdr+ is off I just get a green picture. Log attached

I'm sending this MatLog using the apk version "Arnova's v7beta9".
I just activated HDR + Improved it does not work on the front camera, it closes the application or sometimes it renders the image without loading the bar, I can not portrait mode on the front with redmi 5 plus vince.

Is slowmotion working? I don't think so

I'll started to try camera mods, this looks great for functionally on my phone, but have some glitches on my phone.
Phone: Redmi 5 Plus Global
Camera sensor: Sony IMX 486
Front sensor: OV5675
Rom: Xiaomi.eu latest
Camera2API enabled
Finally the burst mode working "good", this mod will be super when is done.
Rear camera: So the camera screen is freezing for long seconds, when moving a bit more, shaking the phone. Looks a bit the exposition and the light couse this.
After this need to wait some seconds 10-15 and the live preview and the cam working again.
I thinking at the first time and off the auto rotation setting, because a lot of times only need to rotate the phone 90 degree and crashed. But this not solved the problem
And a lot of times get FC.
Front camera: make a green glitch picture (not a real picture, looks when the photo is damaged and overall a green mishmash)

I've actually never got any FCs on my phone running AEX, maybe because my camera sensor is omnivision

I still face the issues with my front camera though

always force closed after take front cam photo

Immediate crash, didnt flash the camera2 api mod tho

What ROM are you using?

Can anybody test this build and report back, I'm currently using RR treble so my camera isn't working (yet):silly:

My bad, looks like this camera is only compatible with Android Oreo and above

[Request] Port Oxygen OS Camera from 5T for Custom ROM

Just a humble request to all who have knowledge to port apps.
Please port the oxygen os camera from OnePlus 5T for Custom ROMs.
The already ported camera is not working in 5T due to differences in camera lenses.
I know many of you will saying use Google Camera it is better than the Oxygen OS, so i agree with you but none of the google cam is also working fine in 5T.
Some google cam has pinkish images, some has broken front cam, some has black screen on front cam, some doesn't has HDRa in rear and front and some has camera crash ui error so, some doesn't have touch to focus ability.
I saw in Oneplus 5 forum, the ported camera is working fine with Portrait mode even front camera is also working. But that camera is not working in OP5T.
You again requesting here to port Oxygen OS camera from OnePlus5T for custom ROMs.
Note: Please do not compare google camera with Oxygen OS as you already know google cam is not stable enough in OP5T.
Just hoping for the best.

I'd like that as well ! The only reason why I'm keeping OOS is because of the camera (and the portrait mode that I use a lot) but as soon as it's ported I'll change

Yeah with the OnePlus 5T. It was working fine on the 1st day but was severely crashing on the next. I take back my recommendation on this. Sorry. I believe there was no portrait mode.

U can get portrait mode on the 5T with Google mod camera. I've used it on at least 4 ROMs and it worked flawlessly and also has front facing portrait which OnePlus cam does not have. I had HDR, HDR+, front and rear portrait, burst, lens blur, everything. Read up a little about the gcam mod and get it working. It's well worth it and portrait mode works great.

Gcam has dots in every pics... And front cam doesn't have HDR.
Just need Oxygen OS cam port.

Since when, lol. I have HDR on front can with portrait mode and I don't have dots, great pics... Must be doing something wrong bro. And even if it gets ported most stuff won't work honestly.

Alright so this is by my far my favorite one and the Urikill versions have been for awhile. Now, others work, u just have to play with settings. First off, you have to flash this for front camera portrait mode fix and HDR in front can to get It working. https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/...sk-front-camera-fix-oreo-4MP-op5-5t-v1.1.zip. There's other methods to besides this zip but this is the easiest way for me. Second, here is the camera I use, https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/MGC_5.1.018_Urikill_vXXII.apk. I will attach some screenshots of my settings, but again most of these can be tweaked and changed to your liking. I have HDR working for front cam in portrait mode. Regular front cam doesn't work, but you don't need it because portrait mode front cam takes the blur photo and regular, both HDR. Also, I have HDR working on regular can as well. Regular HDR and HDR+ enhanced if needed.
I stress again, that many of the camera apks work, this is just my favorite and right for me. I also stress again that many of the settings can be tweaked and changed to your liking. If it breaks something, switch it back. You have to play, and play, and play. I did for a long time until I found the perfect setup for me and all things working. Anything there is not a screenshot of is default. Hope you get it working. If you have trouble or questions the original Google cam mod thread, and there is also one specifically for the 5T has a lot of answers and help, that's where I got it. People are keep saying google camera and google camera! But I am sorry to tell you it has many glitch. Doesn't matter what mode you are using.

So, here is the conclusion... Front cam not working ... The only way to work with front cam is portrait mode... And that's the thing I don't want.
Thank you for posting your comment and you proved it us right as Google cam never be compare with Oxygen OS camera untill google cam get fix.

I have tried several on MIUI China Dev rom. Whenever you activate any of the HDR functions, the camera starts to lag significantly and it is not possible to take any pictures. I think that someone reported it working on the P preview rom though.
Edit: I have just tried some latest version of Arnvoa Gcam port and portrait mode works perfectly.
Although the HDR effect does not apply, the portrait mode works for both front and back camera.
The only problem is a blue-ish tint on the front camera. But it works!

Does the front camera go up side down?

HDR+ works on both front and rear cameras. Front camera does not go up side down.

The versions mentioned are not working with hdr+ mode. When you shot and try to see the photo is missing the "hdr proccesing" msg. Any other version i tryied its just lagging the camera when try to setup (ie nexus 6 or pixel2)...

Not work hdr+ on mix 2s( checked for MIUI and Android p. Two options: the photo is taken without HDR+ or the camera application is closed

Xiaomi Mix 2S IMX363 sensor have very similar spec comparing to Google Pixel 2. I think if the Google Camera Mod is fixed, it would give the very close result of what Pixel 2 get. Just like the Mi 5s got the same sensor as Pixel 1.

I tried most versions with my Mix 2s on Global ROM 9.5.18.0 and when I try to use portrait mode it freezes and stops working. The portrait mode on the default cam app sucks hard!

I agree, it is REALLY bad. The camera overall can take pretty good pictures but the portrait mode shots look terrible when the subject is a person. There's a ton of detail lost and their faces look washed out and smoothed out somehow.

Someone can post me a link to download the miui camera app?
I've the dp2 ROM and I've forgot to backup it
(You can simply use amaze file manager and go in the app manager menu to backup it)

I agree. The stock camera uses the tele photo lens above the standard lens to make portrait mode pictures. I've only found great/acceptable results taken portrait mode fotos in broad daylight. Anything taken in doors are useless. Shame, as the standard sensor is so much better and comparable to the pixel phones in terms of capabilities.
Hungry for Gcam port to 2s that works as good as they do on the Mix 2.

HDR+ is not enabled on your picture. Although it "looks" enabled in the app, it does not trigger.

i was sure about it. But WHY!? i cannot understand whatts going on. In mix 2 even apks for other devices was working... Not in mix2s....

I believe we have to wait LOONG time till we get Gcamera.. In op6 forums they dont manage to have it working either.... Snap 845 mod not available...

Night Sight GCam working for vince (Pie ROM)

Guys, a gcam with night sight for essential phone allegedly also working for vince. Can anyone verify it, I can't cause im in rr oreo still waiting for rr pie update.

I have tried this one:

Things that don't work are:
Front cam:
- Portrait.
- HDR
Back cam:
- Sphere: force close
- Slow motion.
Working:
- Night sight. You need to exit cam and open it again if you will be taking more than one pic. Otherwise it will keep processing HDR forever.
- Portrait with back cam
- Panorama
-Video recording with back cam at 60 fps
- Video recording with from cam
- Regular pics.
Everything else I have not tried or forgotten. I am on havoc. Btw, night sight... Wow.. excellent.

Gcam 6.1.021 not saving front camera photos. Videos and everything works just no photos being saved. Anyone know a fix?

Latest parrot's 7.3 working all ok on android 10, even slowmo.
Only thing not working is selfie portrait, and for regular selfies you have to disable HDR else ir doesn't works.

It's not working in hdr+ or hdr++ on stock 10.0.14.0.

It's working on 10.0.13.0 flawlessly!

Yes, enabled. Back camera Ok, but front not talking pictures in hdr. Stock 10.0.14.0, magisk 19.4 and butterfly kernel.

And without camera2 api any gcam will crash.

Forgot about that, you're right!
This is beyond strange, still working for me. Try to take another picture with front camera and check like a minute later if the pic is showing in your gallery. It takes a bit for our A2 to proceed the selfie. If it's still not working idk?

Still no luck. Can take picture in normal mode, not in hdr. Have you changed any settings, developer settings?

Does the focus on Android Pie work?

10.0.14.0 HDR not working on the front facing camera, everything else works I believe. Also i think there was a version that could shot 1080 60fps video, not really sure, this version only shots at 30 fps. Thanks for the apk!!

the focus is very unstable

On my phone it won't even install, even though I have camera2 api. Other GCam's (version 5 and 6) do work.
It is this one, right? GCam_7.0.009_A_005.apk

you have to uninstall one the versions you have installed then you try installing again.. it conflicts with the existing one you have installed.. I'm sure it's the v5

Indeed, after uninstalling both the V5 and V6 GCam, it worked. Thanks!
Too bad i have to manually switch HDR off when using the front cam, and back on again when using the back cam.

There are focus issues as usual. If someone can specifically build a GCam version for Mi A series, that would be great.

I heard there is astronomy photography feature(cuttlefish mode) in gcam v.7. But with this version I cant find one though there are several options "camera.cuttle.something" in the developer options. Anybody knows about it?

I didn't meant the settings thing, i want the feature, while shooting in night mode there should be the cuttlefish mode, this mode have a very long exposure time like 1 min or so and u have to keep the phone steady for that time. This mode ultimately create more sharper image than the previous night mode, also can detect stars.
