Portrait Mode on Nextbit Robin

Hey guys,
Luckily I'm having a Robin, recently BSG mod Google camera is updated with Pixel 2's Portrait Mode. I tried GCamera (V5.1.018) and Portrait mode working surprisingly good on Nextbit Robin. But problem with the Rear camera is that it is not working without Portrait.
Settings i was using:
Conf. Hdr+ : Nexus 6 auto
Model : Pixel2XL
Hdr+ Parameters : High

Can you tell exactly what version did you get?
Are you using a ROM in particular?
I can't get it to work in Lineage OS

Ya which exact version did you install and which ROM are you on?
There are a lot of v5.1.018. A link would be really helpful.

I'm currently running RR-Final with magisk15.3 and both the rom and GCamera are working very well.
The GCMod version 5.1.016 has that portrait mode, I've just combined the two versions and in this mod, only lens blur is replaced with the Portrait Mode and it's working absolutely fine motion photos are too working good.

No issues here, which rom you're currently on? Try flashing google camera patch and c2api enabler from magisk, it may help you with that. ?

Anyone on the Oreo and got the OOS camera app on aosp yet?

Codename Phoenix is so far the only Oreo ROM with OOS camera (except for OOS/H2O).

Aww I'm jealous. I'm on official RR and when I install the apk from apk mirror or whatever. Its not exactly the same. Doesn't have the 2x button and portrait mode but it has 18:9 picture mode.

Thats what the one from apk mirror is on rr

Can I ask how you have this setup?
I have a gcam and magisk module for it installed and tried installing the OOS cam apk, it fails to load. It asks for permissions but then a complete black screen, can't see the camera settings or buttons just the app fails to load

With last version of Codename Phoenix i don't see OOS camera, galerie ok, but not camera, normal ?

But if you use the flash on oos cam, have a delay and the photos doesnt looks good

In order to use the excellent Google Camera features ( HDR+ and etc.) you need to have Camera2 API Enabled, to do that you need root.
Otherwise you can just install some basic google camera with sub-optimal performance.

Does front camera HDR+ and portrait mode work?
I remember my Redmi 5 plus worked in portrait mode but no front cam HDR+
But now my phone is bricked, so I can't test it

Noup, i tried every GCam apk under the sun. No luck.
I can live with that but main reason i keep my stock camera around is because the front flash doesn't work on GCam...

yes, but you should turn off hdr mode in portrait mode

There are 2 versions here. If you use the first version, you will use the portrait mode normally. If you use the second version, during use you must turn off the hdr mode in portrait mode
I just checked it thoroughly. The first version is compatible with all roms. The second version is compatible with MIUI

I have no idea why, but Arnova V2 crashes a lot. I'm using latest EU stable rom.

so you should using first file or reinstall camera. I used 2nd file with MIUI Global 9.2.6.0 no crash yet

Wrong. No root needed, just setprop hal3 = 1 in twrp adb shell Mode. Using gcam without root here, miui eu 9.5.4.0

blinking the camera2api.zip the camera stock is uninstalled? If not, how do I remove the camera stock?

You should mention me since the long time I just saw your comment. Already activated camera2 api without root and it's working but fortunately the portrait in front camera not working. I know it's common problem hope will fixed in future

GCamera_Mod_v.5.1.23_R5Plus_fix_crash - I use it for Front Camera | Everything works, requires good config, flash works, no night-sight.
GoogleCamera_5.2.025-Final_fu24-18 - I use It for certain conditions not always so It's not recommended but It's ok to have it!!
MGC_6.1.021_BSG_Arnova-based_v.1.4a_TlnNeun - It's the best GCAM for Vince, Night Sight, HDR+ Enhanced, Portrait on People,

Installing Google Camera mods on Nougat ROMs.

For anyone still on Nougat, I managed to get Pixel2Mod to work on my backup AEX 4.6 ROM. Here's how:
1) First, you'll need a root explorer (I use Solid Explorer)
2) Via your root explorer, navigate to root/system. Scroll down until you see the build.prop. Click and open the file using your root explorer's text editor.
3) In the build prop, search for the "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=0" string. Change the 0 to a 1, save and exit the build.prop.
4) Reboot phone to recovery.
5) Download the ossTWRP zip file from here. Copy it onto your phone's internal memory. Flash via TWRP. Reboot.
6) Download Arnova's Pixel2Mod (I used version 6 for my test). Install as standard. You should now have a working GCam mod on your Nougat ROM. Enjoy!
Feel free to test this with other GCam mods. So far, the Arnova P2 mods are the only ones I've seen to work without issues (e.g: green selfies/portraits).

I was using an arnova gcam that wasn't working. I tried arnova 6 and it did work!

I was gonna respond by saying I only did a quick test at the time, though I remember the pics turning out just fine, as they do on Oreo.

I flashed osstwrp and changed the build.prop to enable cam2api and got all cameras (stock and a few google ones) crashing...

Has anyone had issues taking pictures of/from moving vehicles on the latest AEX ROMs? I was on 5.7, and every pic I took under said circumstances with GCam (5.1 Toylan mod) came out super blurry. After reverting to 5.5, I can now take clear and discernable pics from/of moving vehicles, with little-to-no blur.

Are you on AEX 5.5? I haven't had a lot of time to flash and test because my job and University. Which ROM would you recommend?

Hey bro, thanks for your hard work, the camera finally works on mokee 7.1.2 with your method.
But when the battery power is below 25 percent, my phone begin power off automatically, do you have the same problem? and how to solve it?
I think mokee 7.1.2 is the greatest mod I've ever used, beacuse it performs well in playing games.I don't want to change other roms.

You can record [email protected] slow motion with google cam and [email protected] with stock camera.
But if you enable this mod you cant use portraid mode on stock camera if you want use portraid mode
