RE: Idle Battery life - Solutions?
Hello,
I've been using my Nexus 7 very little this week. But since I stopped charging my current battery stats read:
1 day 11 hours and 57 minutes on battery.
Tablet Idle (39%) for 1 day 11 hours and 26 minutes.
Aside from that I've had 25 minutes screen time and 20 mins Wi-Fi use.
I'm currently on 71% Battery. Does this seem like normal battery usage? I would have thought the idle tablet could keep it's battery better than this.
Any tips/thoughts on if this is normal?
Thanks

Make sure Wifi, GPS, and Bluetooth are off. They drain the battery quite nicely. Another tip is turning off auto-syncing for Gmail, etc if you plan to keep the tablet in sleep. Other than that, the usage seems within normal range, maybe a bit over.
Then again, why not just turn it off? It takes about 10 seconds to power up...
Hello everyone.
I currently own a Tab s 8.4 LTE version for exactly 40 days only. I began noticing battery being so weird last week so I will be direct and to the point as much as I can.
A week ago, I noticed that my battery isn't doing so well, I am just a med (sometimes heavy) tablet user ( I mainly chat, browse facebook, read articles, play some youtube videos and I play music as well) I had my battery charged to 100% before a car trip that lasted for around 4 hours, by the time I arrived to the destination, the battery was on 10% only.
Here is what I did on that trip:
1- Had Mobile network connected all the way (used it for chatting on whatsapp, facebook and reading some emails)
2- Listened to music for 45 mins.
3- Played 30 minutes of clash of clans.
When I arrived to my destination, I waited the tablet till it completely drain then I put it in charger ( I was astonished by the fact that when I instantly put the charger in, it read like 30% instead of 0 or 1%)
Anyway I charged it to 100% and went to test it by watching continuous non-stop 204 minutes of movie (Thats 3 hours 20 minutes) and I was happy that it only dropped from 100% to 67% with 50 percent brightness and (Wifi/Sync connected) then I played clash of clans, 15 mins of clash of clans dropped the battery from 67 to 53 so I was pretty much shocked (like 1 percent for every in-game minute!)
The third day I left it in standby mode to test if it drains unsually when it is idle, I left it for continuous 12 hours on 100% (Airplane mode on, no wifi, no sync) and it only dropped 3% in those 12 hours. I managed to acheive a 4h on screen and 1d 4h battery on time (Which made me pretty sure that the battery is not defective, may be just the reading is faulty)
I tested it today. Charged from ground zero up to 100% then I used it. My activity mainly was:
1- a lot of chatting (like 2 hours but not continuous) on whatsapp.
2- 45 mins of music and 15 mins on soundcloud.
3- 40 mins of Clash of Clans (drained my battery in a significant way)
4- Checking facebook notifications, gmail and browsing some websites on hourly timed intervals.
I managed only to get 5h screen on time and a total of 7h of battery on time. Screenshots in attachments.
More importantly, I used it from 100% till it drained to zero then I put it on charger, it automatically read 15%! (Happened to me before that it read 30% instead of zero or 1% then I drained it from 15% to zero again, put the charger and it read from zero%)
Please help me get answers for these 2 questions:
1- Do you think this battery is defective? I own this LTE tablet for only 1 month. Or do you think it only performs poor?
2- Does a game like Clash of Clans really drain it that fast? Like 1 percent charge for every minute or minute and half?
3- How long should it normally take to charge from zero up to 100%? Mine takes exactly 3 hours or 3 hours and less than 10 minutes. Is that okay? Or should it be longer?
Thank you
Can you go back this this thread and try what I said. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2809818. I dont want to copy and paste it again lol.
Running unrooted 6.0 v30b-EUR-XX on Telstra in Sydney, I was getting horrible battery life - just watching percentage drop by 1 every 30 seconds. I thought it was the screen.
And phone would shut down at 30% - I'd plug it in, charge for 10 minutes and screen would say 15%, I'd turn phone on, and charge would say 50%. Same behavior on a new battery.
So I did a factory reset and when prompted for my gmail address, I clicked skip.
I ran some tests where I just left screen on for 10 minutes with stock browser open.
Percent
80 to 78 2% for 10 minutes - no 4g, no wifi, screen 100%
78 to 76 2% for 10 minutes - 4g auto, no wifi, screen 100%
69 to 65 3% for 10 minutes - 4g auto, no wifi, screen 100%
65 to 62 3% for 10 minutes - 4g auto, no wifi, screen 50%
And phone has been getting great battery life for last 2 days.
I apologize if this has been suggested before, but I have been searching for 2 weeks for a solution, tried greenify, some battery apps and nothing helped.
My Pixel 2Xl is running fully stock, up to date.
I find that after fully charging it, it drops the first 10-20% very quickly then stays at 80-85% for much longer, then it drains normally.
For example, after 20 mins of YouTube on 4G it dropped to 82% but then after leaving it for a while and then going on it again, I got another 35 minutes of YouTube on 4G before it dropped down to 81%.
Should I drain it to 0% and see if recalibrating the battery works?

You can do the recalibration. I think you've to drain it to 0 then charge to 100 and then do the want once more.
Or you can try to press the power button for 30 seconds or longer until you see the phone restart twice or thrice. You will feel it vibrating as well.
My pixel 2 xl too, but sot isn't affected
Phone doesn't charge from 0 to 100 in 20 minutes as advertised by the company.
It is taking longer about 30+ min, and the worst part is it might take more than 1 hour if we use the phone while charging.
Does anybody else have this issue?
Hi, my takes 19 minutes from 0-100% when phone is switched off
