anyone know of any good dual sim holders for mda III - preferably one's which don't involve cutting the original sim cards?
I was thinking about this too but I don't think thst such a solution would exist.
When using a dual sim card cell phone the way to switch the cards is to turn the unit off & then on.
But because the only way to effectively turn the blue angel off is to remove the battery I wouldn't imagine that noone would produce a dual SIM for it.
Not sure though.
could you not alternate between sims by using the flight mode on/off option?
Yup
That is how I have always done it on XDA2, works fine?
dual sim card reader
I found one on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6362967057 is great!!!! it fit under the battery without many difficult. I cant switch the sim to the other one by to use the flight mode on/off. for any questions contact the seller SaintJoy0_3 [email protected]
Does it fit/work with the Blue Angel?
Do any of these fit the blue angel? I dont really want to smash my battery to make the thing fit - carrying two phones with me sometimes is weird

dual sim card reader
It works perfect, the battery is a little bit out (0,5mm) from his original position but it works great, to change sim you must only turn on the airplane mode and turn off again to switch to the second sim.
If anybody need a photo can contact the seller, I sent him a photo of my phone.
sorry I forget: of course I use it with an MDA3.
I have just bought one of these off E-bay after being reassured by the seller that it woulf fit my XDA II. I got it the other day & for the love of me I can't get it to fit, there just isn't enough room for the dual sim holder to fit in between the battery & then fit the back on.
I contacted the seller who again assured me they have sold loads of these to people with XDAII's & have no problems.
I just wondered if there was anyone else who has bought one & either had the same problems or got it to work.
The other annoying thing is that while i was trying to fit it & eventually gave up, when I connected the battery & back on it seemed to have done a hard boot, so i had to re-install all my software again!!!!
Should this have happened & how can i stop it happening again if I try to fit a replacement.
i've included the descr. & item number of the ebay item in case you want to look.
6260/6620/P910i/X500/S700i/xda II DUAL SIM CARD

Dual Sim
Got one of these at Christmas, and it does fit,if you curve case as you push on.Have just decided to take it out though, because the signal was very weak, for the first 30 mins of use, after flight mode. Then it would say no sim card inserted. After lots of on /off would grudgingly come back to life.
Perhaps yours will be better.
Thanks.
Hi,
As you might have heard, there are several users having problem with their DHD that occassionally they get a "SIM card not detected" error, having to restart the phone, then the problem disappears but happens again after some time:
http://www.htcdesirehdforum.com/htc...starts-often-unable-to-detect-sim-card-error/
http://androidforums.com/desire-hd-support-troubleshooting/297925-sim-card-not-detected-error.html
I also had this problem, after checking the SIM card every time I found out that the SIM slot on the DHD seems to be a bit too loose. I am not sure if it's related to the DHD itself or some SIM cards are a bit thinner than others.
Anyways, since every time I faced the issue I found my SIM card to be slipped out from the slot by about 0.5mm, I decided to cover the SIM with special 3M plastic tape. Check my attached pictures for detailed guide:
If anyone's having the issue, it would be appreciated to find out if this prove to fix the problem for them as well. For me, I did not have the problem since I have done the trick (more than 2 months now). Make sure you cover both sides of the SIM card to prevent it from detaching when inserting (not overlapping the contacts of course), and insert the card very carefully not to damage the SIM slot.
Hope this helps for some
Glad to see no one had the problem lately
I have the problem since december. Till some days ago it didn't happen that often.. I'm gonna try it!
thanks
I'd really love for this to be a sticky, because it's damn useful! It worked with good old sellotape too! You just gotta be careful not to cover the contacts on the sim card, but the narrower tapes should be good enough!
Thank you!
Thank you to the OP!!
I was searching all over the net for a solution and finally brought it into a repair shop.
They replaced the sim holder. For a week or so it worked but the problem returned. Finally I decided to search the net, stumbling upon this thread. After taking normal, desk tape and wrapping it around the sim (not on the chip itself), I wedged it in and its been weeks without the problem!!
Thanks again.
There's a small piece of paper exactly same size as sim behind mine and hasn't happened since tweaked.
@ Springdale - many thanks for this top tip!!
I have been getting this "SIM card not detected" message recently, was thinking my phone was seriously malfunctioning. I tried you trick tonight, hopefully the problem is solved!
thanks again mate

This is just brilliant m8 , i fixed the Desire HD in a matter of seconds.
Super fix, hats off to you
I dropped my DHD recently and think it may have loosened up the sim card slot as I have been getting that message constantly over the last few days.
Just cut a thin bit of card though and popped it in beside the sim and was a much tighter fit so fingers crossed it's solved the probelm.
Many thanks for the tip
I am so happy that many of you found my thread helpful I'm glad I could help.
It worked for me as well!

The buyer of a phone I sold inserted a micro/mini SIM card, extracted it, and must have widened the gap, and a sliver of paper fixed it!!!!

thanks a lot dude.
It solved my problem.
I thought "No Sim Card" error was because I flashed a new ROM.
But as you said I put plastic tape on the Sim Card and it made the trick.
Damn, man. You give second life for my DHD
<3
Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm going to go try this out too!
im using clear tape so maybe this is why.. but it not working
Good evening folks,
As I have benefited so much from these forums, I hope I can give something back as well.
Recently my HOX developed the dreaded "SIM card not detected" issue, so i thought there has to be a permanent fix rather than taping the SIM card.
So I whipped off the back cover swiftly and a quick inspection revealed why the SIM wasn't detected: look at the pic attached and where the red arrow is pointing at.
When the SIM tray is inserted the bottom of the SIM card pushes against a copper switch thing and closes a circuit(in my photo the tray wasn't fully inserted,so the switch was open),so the phone detects that the SIM is inserted.
In my case the the copper switch wasn't closing properly, as it was bent a little bit. Carefully bending it back solved the issue.
I hope my experience will be beneficial for others out there with the same problem.
Never had this experience before, but thanks for sharing. It might be useful one day.

Hi all,
I recently traveled overseas and purchased a second SIM card for data and the shop assistant probably broke the tray while inserting the card. Fast forward to today, I'm stuck with a broken SIM tray that allows me to only change SIM-2 as SIM-1 is stuck in the broken tray that is still inside the phone. I've went down to the service center and found out that it costs $40-50 for repairs because they have to take apart the entire phone. I think this is a little unreasonable and I'd like to know if there is any way to remove it myself and replace it with a $4 tray bought from ebay.
Thanks!
