Email Notifications - Notification Bar Doesn't Clear - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

I have been having this problem consistently since the most recent update. This is an unlocked, unbranded S9 purchase directly from Samsung.
I have multiple email accounts (one Outlook 365, one Outlook Exchange, and Gmail via IMAP) on the stock email app - I do not use the Gmail app. More often than not, the email symbol in the notification bar (not the badge) will not clear for one message (sometimes more than one, but usually just one) even if the email was read on the phone (as opposed to on my computer or another device). The badge clears, the "Unread Mail" shows no unread messages, but the only way to clear the Notification Bar is to pull down the shade and "clear".
It's annoying to have that visual indicator that there is unread mail when there is not. Anyone else with this issue? I've cleared the Email app cache, cleared the partition cache, but have not done a factory reset (massive pain with as many accounts as I have, etc.).

E-mail status bar disappears in Outlook?

I've searched but can't find the answer to this problem. When I'm using Outlook (both in my my work Exchange account and my personal POP account), the email status bar at the bottom (displays number of messages, connection status if I'm checking mail, etc.) disappears after a few minutes. If I close Outlook entirely and re-open it, it comes back. It's a pain because in the POP account it's helpful to know if it's connecting and how many messages it's supposed to be downloading.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Anyone having problems syncing Gmail today?

I am currently running MCR3.1, and today I seem to have some problems with my gmail syncing.
When I receive an email to my gmail account, it shows up on my Desire however, when I delete (or read) it on my Desire, it still shows up in the inbox count on the top of the screen, and the changes don't seem to being reflected in my Gmail account.
The items are still shown as unread, even though I have deleted the item on my Desire.
I have attached a screenshot to show the inbox count, even though all emails are read.
Any ideas?

It happen to me some hours ago, althoug not on Gmail but on my own server, through IMAP. I read the email, and it still said in the notification bar that I have unread email.
What I did is I killed the email app. Then the notification went away. Then I started the mail app again and no problem at all. Dont know why it happen.
No issues here with Gmail app and MCRr3

[Q] Mail app not showing replied status and flagg/star issues

Using the mail app for an gmail account (don't like gmail app), have set it up as exchange/activesync, because with IMAP it doesn't support stars/flags. But the HTC mail app seems to have several major bugs
-There is no symbol for attachment. Also if I go to the attachement tab on the bottom, no emails shows up. (this works on IMAP but not on exchange)
-If I flag an email, it also gets unread.
-There is no indication of replied status to the emails, it only gets a replied symbol if I have replied on the phone, not if i reply on my computer.
Anyone else have these issues, or does it work for you?
I am running stock 1.84 rom

Gmail notification bar

Running stock Android. After I read emails on my desktop, the notification bar on my phone still shows unread Gmails, I cleared the cache last night, only syncing Inbox and and I unchecked the notify once box. Any thought appreciated.
Hey, I just tested there on mine and it didn't do it. Once I read the email on my desktop after approx 1 min it cleared the notification on my Nexus. That's a strange one.
Are your settings the same? Are you running stock android?
No actually I am not! But I do recall when I fisrt had my Nexus and it was the same. I am obsessive about things like that so I remember checking it and it was the very same. It is a pity you can't change the rate at which gmail syncs.
Figured it out
I had an old email marked as unread. Once I marked that as read, the notification bar acts as expected - reading emails on my desktop clears the notification bar.
To confirm, I marked an old email as unread and read a new incoming email on my desktop. The notification bar still shows unread emails. Clearing the old unread email on the desktop clears the notification bar.

Not getting push notifications from GMail

Strange, I am not getting GMail notifications since I have my Pixel 2XL
Messages stops working after few minutes after the screen is off
1. I have tried to reinstall GMail + clean cache/data
2. tried to use Inbox app but same results
3. Other email apps (Edisson Email) works fine with push notifications
4. All other apps using push notifications works like a charm
any sugestions?
Please check whether sync option is enabled.
users & accounts > Automatically sync data > Enable
Checked, done - other Google items like contacts calendars etc are syncing properly
I've had this issue with Gmail for at least 8 years on every phone I've owned. It works when it wants to, that's about all I've learned in that time.
Interesting thing now that I'm using Tesla Unread: Whenever Gmail is not doing it's thing, I will see a badge for unread messages even though there is no notification. Open Gmail, and it shows unread messages in the inbox menu (but not in the box itself). A minute or so after opening the app, it will download the message and give a notification.
I no longer rely on Gmail, because of this. It's been going on for years and many people have had the same issue.
