Does front facing camera work on Miui

I just installed miui and no front camera? Is there a fix for this. Also roam control no longer works on my phone. Any ideas? Thanks

Do what? I have 2.2 Froyo and my front camera works great.
And as far as miui with front cam, i believe with the new version the front cam is working. Just nandroid and flash and enjoy.

I'll take your word for that. But im on 2.2 and had 2.1 and on both of them the front cameras worked fine. Maybe camera support in GB for tablets? Idk, I just know my front camera works fine, dont you have an evo you can test and see for yourself?
Edit: I saw your location of Budapest, so ya you probably dont have an EVO, well take my word for it then, it works.

I believe to you, maybe it's new only in the AOSP, and htc made it work for evo.

Ok first yes do a nandroid BACKUP before you flash the new MIUI. After you flash it, do not do a nandroid RESTORE (two different things. Im sure you know, just make sure and specify you know )
To get your apps back you have to use titanium backup. But only restore apps and app data, not system data (unless your titanium backup is from an miui rom.). If you would do a nandroid restore after flashing the update. You would cancel out your update and youd be on the miui version you had before you flashed the update. And youd be right back where you started. Also I think the miui rom has its own backup app. Not sure how to use it, but maybe search around for info on that

First, get the paid version of Titanium and the restore will take no time at all. If it isn't available where you are you may be stuck with restoring an app at a time. Also, you will only have to do that once if you flash MIUI. After that you can use the backup options which are integrated into the ROM and backup/restore most apps (occasionally an app that resides on the SD, such as Angry Birds has some challenges restoring, but you could use Titanium basic for just those difficult apps.)
Next, go to MIUI-devs and look at this thread. Read the OP in its entirety. There you will find links to the latest build as well as all of the options separately, including a zip for getting FFC (which unfortunately will cause you to lose some other options, but it comes down to figuring out what is most important to you personally.)
If you still have questions, search MIUI-devs forum and/or ask for help. XDA is great, especially for discussion and some help, but even with Tyzing trying to keep it up to date here, it is still a bit behind on the latest fixes/downloads.

Actually, the latest update (1.5) works on MIUI. They made changes specifically for the ROM.
Open RC, go to "Options" and check "Disable ROM detection". You can see explanation on the "About" tab.

From when i last used the rom about a month ago no it didnt work but they dobhave weekly updates.
You can use vigenette i alrwady had so i use it as primary works with front cam on miui

I know this won't necessarily help you, but I'm using 1.2.25, and my front camera works just fine. What hardware version do you have? 004 hardware seems to have problems with AOSP working with the camera.
Also, did you do a complete wipe or did you flash over an older build? If you flashed over a build, try it after a complete wipe (obviously, back up your current setup in case it doesn't work; you don't want to start from scratch for no reason). If you restored any system data, that could also be the problem. When you start from a complete wipe, restore only apps from Titanium. If you want to backup and restore MIUI system data, use the included MIUI Backup (I use it for both system data and apps, and even though it's slow as hell, I haven't had any problems using it).
I hope this post was useful. Good luck.

To get to ffc using video:
Switch from camera to video
Press video quality (the word, "high" or the button on the far left)
Choose "Custom"
NOW, press menu-switch to front.
Once it started force closing, it was near impossible for me to get it to work, but try clearing data via application manager or reinstalling the app.

[Q] Anyone else missing the camera app/ know how to restore it?

I'm rooted and have CWM, when I updated to the Zedomax v2 kernel I got stuck in a boot loop so I did a factory reset wiped everything and re-flashed it. that got me back up and working again but I noticed the camera app is missing. I see the installer in root explorer but it will not install the app. Anyone else seen this or have an idea how to restore it?
Try vignette or a 3rd party camera app see of it camera even works anymore

I installed fast burst camera and it will work however launching the stock camera from the gallery or picture editor causes the gallery or editor to force close. I'm going to try Zedomax's steps for unbricking and see if that helps.
FYI for anyone else who runs into this, I was able to restore the app by using zedomax's system restore/fix bootloop files. you can find them in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1272585

TouchWiz Widget/App on AOSP?

I find the Picture Frame Widget in Touchwiz to be the best one so far. Is it possible to install this APK on a AOSP ROM? That is the only app I want just the Picture Frame Widget. I found the APK in the TW Rom, was just wondering if it's just a matter of putting it on sd and installing the APK or is there more to it then that because of TW Framework?
The safest way to try it out would be to do a Nandroid backup, then install it and try it out. Usually TW apps have something tied into the framework, but since it's just the Picture Frame Widget, it might work. I would say try it out. Installing that app shouldn't harm your phone one bit. And if it screws something up you can always restore from the Nandroid.

Removing system app 4.4.2

I need some help hopefully someone can guide me in the right direction. I wanted to remove the camera that comes with my custom rom because it's faulty and force closes and/or freezes when it take pictures. I tried to do it using Titanium back up pro. It says it's un installed but when I try to flash new zip with new cam app it doesn't show up. Someone said it might because Titanium didn't really un install it. I need help please. Running BAM rom 4.4.2. Any help is appreciated.

[Q] Stock ROM without HERE

Does anyone know how or if it is possible to modify the stock ROM to remove the HERE app? I imagine that it is not straightforward, but I'd like to do this so that I can install the updated HERE app that Nokia is now producing for Android.
Your device must be rooted for this.
Uninstall only HERE with any system app uninstaller (I used Titanium Backup). Do NOT uninstall the 3 Here Services. Restart your phone, then try installing it.
I'm using it and works flawlessly. Definitely better than the stock one!

This worked for me!
I've been running with this for a while and noticed that my GPS is not locking (GPS only--no cell assistance). I flashed my Nokia X back to stock rom and installed the Here update through the Opera Store and it seems to perform better (it actually locks my position).
Anyone else see this?
