Weak mobile network on P2 - Lenovo P2 Questions & Answers

Hi all,
I have two sim cards inserted in my Lenovo P2. I don't get any signal from either SIM when I am at my home but it works outside although the network is a bit weak. I then removed the SIMs and inserted it in two different phones just to check and they worked . Is there something that can be done for this? I am currently on LineageOS 14.1 but had the same issue on Stock ROM as well. I've attached a screenshot and you can see that the network signal is not so great.

I haven't encountered any problems with signal fluctuations on stock rom, but it was a long time ago that I used stock rom before. There is random network drop in LineageOS, which will be fixed soon. I recommend you to flash AEX rom, I have seen signal strength improvement in the change-log of AEX latest build. It is just a suggestion, don't know whether it will work or not.

I tried the AEX rom but I do not see any noticeable improvements in network. The problem is so severe that I cannot use the device as my main driver anymore as I missed a lot of calls due to that. Resorting to use a secondary mobile for calling.

[Q] Network Connection Issues

I have a Desire, running with Cool's Images (Sensation v3...7, Cool3D AceS). Since some weeks the network connection through GSM and also 3G is very unreliable. Phone calls break up, the signal symbols shows a good signal but I can't make calls nor am I reachable, often enough the phone doesn't find any network, etc.. Sometimes it just works without any issue.
It all started when I was travelling to the US. But the issue remained when I was back in Germany. I even replaced the SIM card. Other phones with the same SIM card work without any problems. I tried Software Updates (see above). And I'm using the latest radio (32.56.00.32U 5.17.05.23).
Anybody out there with any idea? Thx a lot!!!

[Q] SIM1 disappearing with 4G LTE (ZE550ML)

Hello,
My father recently bought the ZE550ML, and he's having issues with his SIM1 when 4G LTE is enabled (not necessarily in use): the network icon simply disappears as if SIM1 disabled by itself. All latest updates have been done, so we're worrying that it could be a hardware issue. From what I could gather on a French forum, changing SIM doesn't solve anything.
Does anyone else have that issue? Or at least know about it?

I've noticed the same problem with my ZE551ML 4gb 32gb WW version. When I'm on 4g I have mostly zero signal on sim 1. Switching to 3G/H+ solves the problem. Not a major issue data wise since T-Mobile H+ is plenty fast but this shouldn't be happening. I missed quite a few calls due to this but could make Internet calls on the 4G connection with zero bars! Meanwhile I'm permanently on H+ for now.
Actually, it's not that he has zero signal; the SIM1 icon with signal bars just disappears as if the card was disabled (and indeed, it's marked as disabled in the settings in such cases).

It could be related. I shouldn't complain if that's your problem.
I have had similar issue.... reboot and enable it again usually resolves my issue.

Connection issues with 4G/LTE

Hey!
I've had my Oneplus 3 for a couple of weeks now, and I am having major connection issues while using mobile data. Most of the time I am unable to get any connection so I can't even make a phone call. I have read about similar issues and how they have been resolved, but none of the tricks have done it for me. If I enable airplane mode and then disable it, I get a weak connection for a while (maybe 10 minutes). I have two IMEI-codes on my phone, like I should. WiFi connection works well. I am on OOS 3.2.4 at the moment.
Here's a list of all the things that I have tried:
Another SIM-card
Another service provider
Manual APN settings
Different OS versions
Turning radio off and on from the "secret menu" (*#*#4636#*#*). This has the same effect as the airplane mode, which means that I get a weak connection for a moment.
Every bit of help is greatly appreciated.
I had the same problem with 6 ROM (all based on CM). After a day or so i lost connection.
Now i'm on Official CM13 and its all working for 4 days (fingers crossed).
The only thing that i've done different is that i didn't use Titanium Backup and also CMThemer.
I don't know how helpful this is, but that's my experience with the matter.
Cheers !
I am having same issue from the day 1 of my usage. Upgraded OxygenOS, tried different SIMs, changed APN, toggled preferred connection LTE to 3G etc and even on Official Cm13, the issue persists. Even when I am outdoors, the connection is poor and unstable. The same SIM works very well on Oneplus 1 without any issues. I am really fed up and regretting my choice to buy Oneplus 3. Is there any way to solve this issue? I stay in Dubai and there are no Oneplus service centers here and neither I can return the device, as the return period has expired.

Only LTE signal. Lost coverage on GSM/UMTS. Very weird...

Hi!
I've searching around but I have'nt found a similar problem like mine: Phone drops coverage when sending or receiveing a standard call. So, in LTE mode all works fine. But when the phone has to switch to 2G/3G for the "standard" call, it drops signal and of course it can't call.
So in fact I've a Smartphone that can do whatever except standard calls (In fact when my operator enables VoLTE maybe I can call with LTE signal only).
It is a D855 32/3Gb, it always had offical firmwares and updates from LG and suddently one day the problem appeared.
Things I've tried without success:
Firstly I thought it was a hardware problem with antennas, so I changed three of them: (Antenna Flex Assembly, Coaxial Cable and Buzzer case that has antenna integrated inside).
Then I started thinking about a software problem, and I downgraded it, rooted, flashed LineageOS (I'm in love with this SO!!) and even changed several radio/Modem (started with 21c, tested 21A, 20P, without success).
Finally, I tweaked build.prop ro.telephony.default_network values without success too :crying::crying:
Has anybody seen this problem or do you know more things to do or to test?
Thank you!!

WiFi Calling on Moto G 5G Plus with LineageOS 20.0 with MicroG

Hi everyone,
I've just bought this phone and had no trouble installing LineageOS 20 (Nairo) on it. Everything works well, got all my apps installed and data moved over and now I've discovered that the WiFi Calling function doesn't appear to be working, which is a deal breaker for me. My office has terrible cell reception and I have been happily relying on WiFi calling on my Galaxy Note9 using the same SIM can carrier on Android 10 so I'm guessing it's either a phone issue and/or an OS issue.
To confirm:
1. WiFi is connected with signal strength reported by OS as "Excellent". This is the case for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
2. WiFi Calling is enabled
3. Calling Preference is "Calls over Wi-Fi"
Is there something I'm missing here? I actually had a call come in, the service was pretty crap and when it dropped out there was a pop-up that said something to the effect of "You should use Wifi Calling".
In case anyone looks at this later on for answers, I managed to resolve this with a reinstall of LineageOS. It did have a problem though in that after the reinstall, the phone could not create a data session with the mobile network (Vodafone Australia). I managed to fix that by moving the SIM card from SIM1 to SIM2. I then moved the SIM back to SIM1 and it's all working fine now. No idea what the problem was, but all running smoothly now.
