Your Magisk.img is probably corrupted. Use the twrp manager if you have it to delete it in /data/adb/magisk.img. Otherwise use a root explorer:good:

I just clicked "Install" (not using TWRP), and it worked. But you'll have to reinstall twrp and root after the update.

I'm sorry I did not say it right :/ I meant:
- I had twrp installed
- I received a notification from Google about the update
- I just clicked on "apply" or "install" (directly from Android)
- the update installed iitself, then it rebooted the device
- I lost twrp and root
- I reinstalled twrp and root
=> everything was OK.
Maybe you can try with Nexus Root Toolkit to uninstall twrp, then apply the update, and reinstall twrp+root

In Setting>>Superuser>>"There are currently no Superuser app policies."
about a month ago all root required apps is working correctly. when i open any root required app its ask me for superuser permissions.
But now any root required app is not working its says your device is not rooted.
plz help me how to root my device?
i have installed CM11 beta 1 ROM on Xperia M Dual..
SOLVED
Boot your phone into recovery and install this zip: http://download.chainfire.eu/382/Sup...erSU-v1.93.zip
after installing the zip
i open root checker app and it stuck on saying ''çhecking if device is rooted''
and then i clear chache of superuser from mannage application
then reboot
now all is welL....
First of all... what changes did you make before you lost your root?
P.S.
I find the best way to root my XM is to boot into CWM.... flash any zip and then use the 'reboot to system' option...
the process will ask you wether to install su in your device.. tap yes.. n VOLLA... your device has full root...:good: :good:

You don't need to install Superuser app as CM11 is already rooted, Uninstall it and install Busybox and then try.

yes i know it is not necessary to install SU on CM11 but my root is not working properly, thats why i install SU from playstore.
and as you said i uninstall the SU app and when i install Busybox it says ''plz root you device''
Try framaroot.... Worked well with the stock...
P.S. use only the Gandalf exploit...
Hit thanks if helped.. :thumbup::thumbup:

if i flash CM11 again i lost my internal data...my internal data contain corrupt photos which i want to recover but it want root access..thats why i want to root my phone without any loss of data
If you don't want to lose your data... You could perform a dirty flash...
I don't recommend it very much... Try it at your own risk....

hey buddy realy thanx for the help
but i cant reflash cm...
i have to root my device first anyway..
Or there is one more thing that may work.....
First unroot the device using framaroot.... Check the root status using root checker app
Second reboot your device.....
Reroot again using framaroot......
This would help only if the su file in the system folder is corrupted
Hit thanks if helped

when i unroot using framroot it gives me the same error ERROR #7
A dirty flash is when you just get into recovery and flash the zip.... Without wiping data and cache...

1) Read the second post in this thread.
2) Learn to use caps properly.
I have tried titanium backup, link2sd, and system app mover. Everytime I move the app to system the phone will not boot and I get stuck in a bootloop and have to fastboot flash the OTA image.
I am reading I can move apps to the system in twrp but I do not want to have to factory reset again. Any help?

+1. I've been using it for a couple years
You need to remove Verity to do it manually and better yet also edit fstab to remove avb
Do you know why I was getting stuck in a boot loop? Will this fix that issue?
