Where to buy working Logic Board - Xperia Z5 Premium Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Last september my Z5 Premium E6883 got some water damage and the screen stopped functioning. Everything works but the digitiser. I tried replacing the screen but no luck. Hence, I am looking where to buy either new or used logic board. Any ideas where I can find one? I tried Aliexpress and EBay. I was not able to find anything at the moment and was wondering if anyone has any idea where I can have a look. Any help will be beneficial to me.
Thanks!

such integral parts of sony xperia are
a. hard to find
b. even if you buy the labour cost of replacing such items will be high
c. water resistance will be completely void
i would suggest , buy new device (since z5p are 60% cheaper now since 2015) .... or
upgrade to some better device! xzs or xzp

Well, I'm an idiot

Hey everyone,
Just yesterday, I managed to somehow do this : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/62874133/IMG_20120815_022135-1.jpg to my phone. However, the phone still registers the touch inputs even on the crack ( see : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/62874133/Screenshot_2012-08-15-12-21-48.png ). Does this mean I just need a new lens as found here : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Front...ltDomain_0&hash=item53ee3cff34#ht_1596wt_1165 ? Or do I need a new digitizer as found here : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Frame-LCD-T...000?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cc82f3618 ?
Thanks so much.
ohhh that sucks!!
I got my screen broken too and like yours touchscreen was still working. I had to pay around $40 to the local repair shop to replace it.. i think new lens will be good enough for you.. but before you buy, go to a repair shop for checking i guess

I went to 5 repair shops and they said that they would need to change the entire thing so it would be around $190. Which shop did you go to? The touchscreen works fine, so does this mean that they are wrong?
If I'm not mistaken the "display" is glued to the digitizer, basically the glass is the digitizer. If you do plan to separate the screen from the glass I would be extremely cautious while doing so. As one mistake can scratch the display.
The Glass, digitizer and screen are glued together, afaik this is what the "super" means in AMOLED.
You might be able to separate them, but I don't know of anyone who had managed to.
Tbh your best bet is to replace the whole unit
Separating digitizer from glass would be plain hard, but your digitizer is still in one piece.you could try it,but it would be hard and you need to be very careful.if you suceed, buy just the glass,if you break the whole thing, pay for the total replacement, you end up with the same thing.

Yes they are glued and you have to buy the set. When they get calibrated together its then set. Separating them gives the chance that you may not line up where you touch and that same point on the display.
Thanks so much for your replies!
Well, considering the fact that a new Galaxy Nexus is $300 at a local store, I'll pass on getting the new digitizer + lcd panel. Has anyone tried taking out the LCD and putting a new one? (Like this : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Front...6256&pid=100011&prg=1005&rk=1&#ht_1290wt_1165 )? Does anyone know if it's still possible? I'd really like for this phone to be in perfect shape :/

Z3+ digitizer replacement

Hi,
I can get hold of a damaged z3+ quite cheaply. The LCD is intact, but the front glass is cracked and the digitizer is not working. Does anyone know if the replacement glass contains the digitizer or if I wold need a complete LCD/glass/frame assembly (much more expensive)?

Thanks for your reply,
Having torn down and replaced front and back on two phones now, I feel almost like an expert
Been doing mobile phone repairs on the side for a couple of years. Xperia is by far one of the more misleading manufacturers in my opinion when performing repairs. I would make sure the person can somehow prove the back-light still come on. Also when performing the actual repair it can't be stressed enough that you shouldn't treat the battery like a Samsung or it seems to corrupt at different essential points. I would wager 2 in 3 newbies will burn out the fuse on the mainboard for the back light during an average repair due to a jeopardized screen shorting out or testing prematurely to make sure everything is in working order early in the repair. In almost every model it is precision work which could imply ripping and plying off the sheilding in a way they it will never be 1:1 and that is if you can even find the fuse for this model. With that said just put everything back exact minding all the grounding tape etc. while performing this repair. Xperias are an utter nitemare in terms of ghost error lite codes and forums of confused people getting red light of death etc. .. I have modded many phones Xperia's still brick to easily for my liking and I often feel like I am walking on glass to test or try anything past vanilla.
I have backed up my DRM's though and unlocked my bootloader and put the DRM's back which makes the phone a little better.
Xperia phones in my books are the most temperamental and fragile. With that said the pretentiousness can be overlooked when you look at features.

Had z5 premium screen replaced, how can I check the right part was used?

I dropped my z5 premium yesterday, screen cracked, touchscreen stopped working.
I'm travelling for the holidays, but was able to find a place that said they have the part and can replace the screen. I was a bit hesitant that they had the z5 premium screen in stock as every other place I called needed to order it as it's not that popular of a model. Anyways, I went ahead and got it fixed but I didn't feel confident that the repair guy didn't just replace it with z5 parts as opposed to the premium.
So my question is this, how can I confirm that what I have now is still the z5 premium 4k screen (don't know if he replaced the digitizer also)?
Any help would be appreciated!

The lcd and digitizer are not that easy to separate so I'm assuming it will be replaced as a screen assembly.
The correct part number is as far as I know only visible at the backside of the screen.
But, if it works perfectly and u don't see difference that before (a little off colours is the norm) it should be just fine.

Like the previous comment said the lcd and digitizer probably already came assembled. The screen is a part of the front design with the cut outs for speakers top and bottom which as far as I know only Sony has this design, so you can eliminate the suspicion of the screen coming from another manufacturer. Also, Z5P is the only Sony device with a 5.5 inch screen so no other Sony models will fit it. Only problem left is if it's made fake like those fake iPhones and Samsungs but Z5P is not that popular for having fake components out to buy. My conclusion is therefore that you shouldn't worry it's probably authentic.

My adventures with authorized Sony Service Center

Hi Z1 Compact users! I'd like to ask you what do you this.
Some time ago I broke my Z1C LCD. I decided to replace it manually. I bought a cheap one and replace it. Unfortunately screen's quality was poor - very soon I broke touch panel. It doesn't fit corectly to frame as weel. Also battery cover glue weakened so it's not wter proof anymore.
I deicided to send my phoone to authorized Sony Servic Center in Poland - W-Support.
I received their opinion - They said that PCB needs to be replaced as well due to software ingenertion! Lol, nice.I didn't know that rooting and deboating my phone may cause it won't work properly.
Do you think they are right and PCB needs REALLY to be replaced? Costs of this one operation is about 150% of factory new Z1C
In their opinion it needs to be replaced not because I could broke it somehow during screen raplacing buy "DUE TO SOFTWARE CHANGES"
No, they just scammed you.
Unless you physically broke some connector during LCD replace there is absolutely no reason to replace entire PCB.
Also you should avoid authorized sony service centers at all costs (especially in Poland!), unless your phone is still on warranty period. They'll just charge you 3 times more than any other professional center.

Need help to Revamp my Z2.

Just before 2 months I was gifted a Samsung s8.
I made it my primary device for a while.
As you know there is nothing you can do with Samsung phones in terms of customization, changing ROMs and also my new S8 screen broke recently.
I again want to use by Z2.
My Z2 was with my brother. He used it quite hard.
Front glass is cracked, touch is working. And also Back glass is cracked.
Any idea to replace those as cheapest as possible.
I want my phone to shiny and not cracked and I don't want to use skins. Just want a clean shiny, glassy device.

Thanks.

Easy enough, Its just white plastic with silver ZUK logo. Linky
The back is glued on so hair dryer or heat gun needed and it will lift off.
Most use B-6000 or B-7000 glue to put back on.
If you are from India, its cheaper and easier to try OLX or Quikr to find one used device. Not all people are familiar with custom rom & true capabilities of Z2 Plus so if you look hard, you can find a good scratchless device within 2.5k easily !!
Rather than paying high charge to repair it from Lenovo authorized service center, its cheaper to buy a second hand device.
Thanks.
Hey,
I also had broke my back glass recently, and i got a replacement from my local market for around ₹200.
Also i had paid a visit to the Lenovo official service center, and they quoted ₹2200, only for the back glass, and they had a doubt if it could be replaced as the model is out of production.
I would suggest you to buy it from local market, but keep in mind to check if the back sits properly into the phone as many back glass don't sit properly on the Indian variants of the Zuk Z2 plus.
And being for the screen lenovo charges around ₹6000-7000, if screen is available in stock. So i would prefer to go to the local market for this too, which would hardly cost you much. [Around ₹1500-2000].
