If that's the 1.12 GB OTA update for the official Oreo patch, then unfortunately no sign of a blankflash included.
It'll likely come in either a factory image or a separate leak, if neither appear (e.g. we just get the Oreo fastboot image), then you may have to consider a service repair.

Honestly I don't know. The blankflashes we have on XDA are leaks, which makes it very difficult to know when or even if we'll get one. Motorola regards them as internal development tools, and will not give them out, which means we're very lucky to get blankflashes. If you're desperate for a working device, the only resolution for now is paying for a new motherboard or consider buying a new device.

Again, I do not know if there's even a hope of a newer blankflash coming out. These blankflashes require signing by Motorola as they flash to your bootloader, to maintain the security. It's very difficult to predict leaks, so we will either get a new blankflash working on 7.1.1 and 8.0.0 or not, so it's up to you if you wish to wait or sell your old device for parts. I just hope the new device has a better fate than your old one.
well let's hope that if people find a solution to this and take out the new blankflash we ask friends
need blankflash for 7.1.1 also..
if any one have updates, please help us!

Well, moto live chat sayed that Ende if november oreo for g5 will be dropped. If u have bootloader unlicked, u cant update anyways, As it WILL hardbrick.
It's available on G5S Plus via Lineage OS n I'm assuming OTA Stock Update. Wonder if any of the Devs for G5 Lineage OS are in process of updating.
New to forums n XDA so not really sure how it works etc.

Are you sure that installing an OTA update with an unlocked bootloader will hard brick? It seems like the problem would be the custom recovery and not the unlocked bootloader.

p8tgames - thank you for the link. In fact, I have read many threads and I do not find clear or consistent answers. It seems to me that some of the problems are not necessarily related to the unlocked bootloader, but to a custom recovery or space issues. I thank you for trying to help out, but I am still not clear from your posts and those of others what the real source of trouble is.

Hey everyone,
You can download the March security update for G5 Plus (Retail channel only) from here
Side-load it through ADB.
(Note: This has been tested on Indian retail variant. It may/may not work on other retail variants - proceed at your own risk)
New build number is NPNS25.137-92-8
My RETIN device hasn't received the OTA yet. Is it rolling out now?

You may edit the title to something like "G5 Plus March Security Updates for Indian Retail Devices" as some users still don't know that it's a different firmware than for reteu/retus devices (those are ending on 93) and flashing this one could cause problems or at least take the opportunity to receive future OTA's.
Just a hint, no insinuation in any way, it's great that people like you share their firmware.

I don't see any problem with that, since it's a retail variant and there's no radio (carrier) dependency. Since all Moto G5 Plus retail variants are identical (except for no. of SIMs), there shouldn't any issue generally.
Can we just install it through TWRP ?
Bcoz i had hard bricked my moto g5 plus and use albus blank flash and i got like Moto z play bootloader and finally now its running by losing voLTE and Google pixel experience with 3g ...

If you take a look here: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/potter/official/RETAIL/
you'll see retail variants ending on 92 (+something) and on 83/93(+something). Both are retail firmwares and I think you can flash a 92 on a european or us device but as you change into the retin channel you won't receive regular OTA anymore. Motorola/Lenovo makes it hard to differ between the firmwares and I will try to find a stable source for that. I'm from Germany and I'm rooted so I don't take OTA's at the moment but friends of mine have received the march security patch and they are on a build called NPNS25.137-93-4.

No, after using albus blank flash you can't flash regular firmware anymore. You have to use a TWRP flashable version or any custom ROM.

I can't tell you. I'm not sure if Lenovo comes out with Oreo at all, it's been a long time of waiting now.
I think you are able to try it at once when you can grab a firmware with bl but maybe you'll have to wait until TWRP flashable builds are available or the kernel sources are released and some clever Dev can pick the needed files.
You can just wait and hope.

How do I flash via TWRP... Pls explain...
Guys, currently I'm on October 1st, 2018 Security Patch. I have the system image of April 1st, 2018 for flashing through fastboot, both android 8.0.0.
If I flash it, will my phone get stuck in bootloop or will it work?
My last phone got hardbricked because I unintentionally flashed android 6 Marshmallow after updating to Nougat, so now I'm afraid of hardbricking my new smartphone just because of the security patch.
Please someone give me an advise. (If there would be a link for a system image of october 2018 I'd appreciate haha)
My device was on Oct security before I unlocked it, I am now on the stock April patch firmware with no issues. However, I wish to relock my bootloader now and this is not possible because there is no later firmware than April available. When trying to lock, it fails with security downgrade.

if it's mtk soc, you may want to give mtkclient a go, it's been unlocking alot of mtk bootloaders
for those it may concern, i have a spare tcl a2x , tested root and bootloader unlock via mtkclient and it is indeed working.
so tldr; if you want to root a tcl a2x use mtkclient
I have a TCL A508DL if you still need a tester

Sure, i can post the fastboot image i have if you want to try
I have a TCL A508DL and I have the bootloader unlocked using mtkclient. I'm about to patch the boot.img in the stock ROM to see if I can get magisk working like I did on my Galaxy A31. Will get back to you when I see progress
Here you go! Magisk on the A508DL. Here's a dump of the firmware as well. Just use mtkclient's GUI to flash the firmware. Also, use this apk of magisk to patch the boot.bin for it to work. It's patched for mediatek. I got it from https://github.com/bkerler/mtkclient so it's trustworthy.
