Internet network symbols on notification bar - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

Hello, i need help.
I have a Galaxy S9, SM-G960U1 that i bought directly to Samsung US fully unlocked.
I want to know if the S9 should show another network symbol other than 3G, H+, and LTE.
I had before the S8 and when I connected to the bands 700 mhz and 2600 mhz it showed 4G+
Hope someone can clarify me that
Thanks.

I think is firmware related. My S9 is displaying 4G/4G+ in the notification bar.

LTE-Advanced Indicator?

Hi,
I have LTE-A on Vodafone UK but am not seeing an indicator change on the status bar. On my previous phone, it said 4g+. Within settings in the 5X, there is the option of 4G only. Have Google bundled LTE-A into 4G and don't have a separate setting? I am getting d/l speed of 12mbps which doesn't seem LTE-A to me.
Thanks in advance.

Does the 5X support all the LTE bands used by Vodafone UK?
Yes apparently so. Vodafone uses B20
I still don't have the 5x, but I remember the nexus 5 not showing H+ icon, only the H, and in settings->info you could see if it was HSPDA or HSPDA+. Maybe it's the same with 4g/4g+?

after a month with the phone, I've been in places were lte-A was avaible (confirmed with some 110-150mbps speedtests), but even in settings->info it was showing just "4G"
I believe there's no way to tell if you're on LTE-A network

which is better in cellular signal Note 7 snapdragon 820 model or Exynos 8890 Oct

That depends entirely on which carrier you are with. I'd expect them to have identical strength on supported bands.
4G LTE signal?
Exynos Version: Is anyone using this phone for MetroPCS? I have tried several different APN settings for an LTE signal and not capable of receiving one... Only 4G icon is displayed at all times. Is anyone having this issue in the US?

This has been discussed times and times again... 4G icon on non-US phones means LTE. you are getting LTE speeds buddy. go to network status to check what network you're connected to this will confirm LTE assuming you have the correct APN settings.

SM N 960F singal strength in canada

Hi,
Just got this Exynos, dual SIM version andnusingnon FIdo network in Canada. Data indicator shows "4G" unlike "LATE" in case of North American version of S8 or S8+.
Afaik, this model supports Canadian bands. Is there anything wrong. Any answers will be greatly appreciated as I am still in the return window .
Thanks .

Huawei Mat 20X cannot connect LTE for TMOBILE

Hi everyone,
I have Mate 20X and love it so far. The only issue is I cannot connect it to LTE Speed for T Mobile and it is very slow. It only shows 4G, but no LTE. Can anyone show me how to enable/fix this issues? Mine is EVR-AL00 ....Thank you.
4G = LTE - Some provider show LTE and some 4G. Telefonica show 4G and 4g+ but no VoLTE/Wifi-Calling and Telekom LTE with VoLTE/Wifi-Calling icon

SM-G9860 n1 5G band

I'm using this phone in Romania on Orange, with a 5G plan. 5G has two symbols, and they are as follows:
-one "blank" icon, where only the outline and the 5G logo are white, and the rest is transparrent, which seems to show up when I'm connected to 4G (B3+B7)
-one "full" icon, where the icon is white and only the 5G logo is written in black, this being the n78 band
Has anyone with this phone been able to connect to the n1 5G band? Some say that my carrier's 4G anchor is broken for n1, and others say that the S20 hasn't had this band enabled yet (probably the exynos model though).

Hi, I'm on 9860 TGY in Italy/ Vodafone, Rome but no 5G, I don't know if my area is not covered by 5G or my device has no the correct bands
With 4G+ is all ok
Hi, I am on the same network, Orange RO, but I do not have any of the icons described...And the phone connects with no issue to the 5G network.

I think problem is this model doesn't support DSS with n1 so that is reason why you can't access to n1.
If you like to share to me QMDL log from your device I could there read if DSS supported when you are connected to 5G site. Also its required support Dual Connectivity combinations 3_n1 or 7_n1 to get 5G-access.
Check instructions in cacombos.com/contribute -> Scat.
