AT&T 8.0 Oreo OCX27.109-47 available, plus a problem - Moto Z2 Force Questions & Answers

Well, I've been waiting for this to help fix my semi-borked phone and it is now available:
Android File Host Courtesy of the Motorola-Firmware-Team.
I know quite a few have been looking for it as well.
Now here is my issue if anyone can help -
Before I knew what I was fully getting into (this AT&T Z2 Force is my first bootloader locked device) I mistakenly flashed an oreo modem from the retail image to my 7.1 device. This gave me a missing baseband and IMEI, with no wifi or sim. In my attempts to fix it I flashed the modem from Tmobile (oreo) and eventually got wifi back, but not sim. I hoped going to the AT&T Oreo image would give me back sim/cell, but alas it seems the AT&T baseband version is lower than the current TMO on my phone, and both wifi and sim service are gone.
I feel like I need a way to roll back the baseband, but can't with the locked bootloader.
I can flash back to the TMO modem and get wifi, but that is all.
Any insights?

What was the ROM Oreo that you installed before installing the Tmobile?
The ROM that you downloaded is for moto z2 play not for moto z2 force

It is for the z2 force (Nash), just listed under the z2 play on Android file host for some reason.
As for your question, I'm not sure I understand - are you asking which rom I installed before going to the tmo modem? It was the retail Oreo rom, which obviously didn't fully install due to the locked bootloader, but started my journey to finding a working modem as anything 7.1 I tried after the failed retail flash would not work.
In hindsight I could have left the phone untouched at that point and waited for the at&t Oreo files, but I have a tendency to tinker too much...
I settled on the at&t 7.1.1 rom with tmo 8.0 modem for wifi. Now the at&t Oreo rom is available and installed, but it gives me a missing baseband unless I use the tmo modem. Oh well, suppose I will wait for the next at&t update at this point unless someone has any suggestions.
I have a Sprint version coming tomorrow so I'm not as bothered by it any more, and I'm looking forward to the unlocked bootloader.

I tried to download that ROM but do not tell me
When you say the numbering of the At & t ROM It is smaller than tmobile's

I just installed the ROM 8.0 from at & t is working very well, any news I will communicate, thanks for the information

I have a problem with this version the 4g LTE does not grab me

I am having the same issue, did you ever find a resolution for this?

No, unfortunately.
I have a second Z2 Force from Sprint which I use, and this AT&T version exists solely as a mini WIFI tablet. I'm hopeful the 9.0 Pie update will breathe more life into it eventually.

(q) firmware help

I went to Android revelations download list to search for the latest firmware but I just can't figure out which one it is. I am s-off and my last firmware I flashed was the first Android L one because at&t still didn't have Android L out yet. It's been months since I have worked on my phone..
Can anybody tell me the latest version of firmware and of where to get it?
Much appreciation!

If you are actually using the phone on AT&T's network, I'd try 4.28.502 or 4.16.1540 (AT&T Lollipop and Dev Edition Lollipop, respectively).

Moto Z2 Force Sprint (XT1789-03) to retail with carrier unlocking

Hi all.
Was able to pick up a Z2 Force to use as a work phone, and had a couple of questions. It is originally a Sprint variant, and comes with all the Sprint bloat. I was able to flash a precompiled firmware designed from switching from Sprint to T-Mobile, and while it works, it has all the T-Mobile bloat on there. My current situation is that I'm planning to use it on Mint mobile, and want to flash it with the retail firmware and have it unlocked for use on Mint. My only issue is that there seems to be a lot of confusing information on what to flash and what not to flash in order to do that. Is someone able to clarify what can/needs to get flashed to get retail and what needs to get done to have it carrier unlocked.
Thanks again.
Hey HumidSting do you have a guide I could follow for how you converted your Sprint Z2 to a T-Mobile? I was trying to convert mine to Verizon or ATT and was not able to get past the setup process.

This is the thread I used. Obviously you'll have to adapt it for your carriers, but it should work.
(NO ROOT) Get Verizon Working on Sprint Carrier Version Moto Z2 Force OREO ROM
Follow these steps!

I have an AT&T nash and I was wondering if it is possible for me to flash stock pie

I have an AT&T nash and I was wondering if it is possible for me to flash stock pie
There is no pie for nash xt1789-04 (att) but there is pie released for other z2 force. Will it break my phone if I flash pie stock over ATT stock rom? If so, can I have a link to the pie rom?
There's no stock 9.0 for any model. GSIs and custom ROMs are available, but an unlocked bootloader is required for either route. Users of the ATT & VZ models must wait for Moto to rollout Pie officially.
If you're interested in those things I'd strongly recommend selling your ATT Z2.

Oh, I thought pie was out because on gsmarena it says it's upgradeable. I guess it's wrong.
But when this does come out, for let's say, Sprint, is it possible for me to flash a sprint rom to my ATT MZ2F?

Moto released their update rollout. Among the phones slated to receive Pie you'll find the Z2 and Z2 Play.
Sure, you can try to flash the official build on your Z when it's out. Just keep in mind that the phone will probably lose LTE, and possibly other functions.
Ok thank you for answering

Normally, yes you can flash from a different model (i.e. Sprint FW on TMO model), with the exception of the AT&T/Verizon variants, which are bootloader locked, and you cannot flash anything (not even official firmware) on them.

That's wrong because I was able to flash android 8.0 att over 7.1.1 because it wouldn't let me update normally. I'm pretty sure you can flash images with the same stock signature, but I'm asking if it's possible to flash stock firmware from another model on to att phone with bootloader locked

Maybe I wasn't clear enough, I meant official firmware of a different model.

Downgrading from Oreo back to 7.0 Nougat

So, I currently have a samsung s7 active that I purchased used, unlocked but was using AT&T with the AT&T firmware on itat the time. I upgraded it to Oreo universal firmware
It's currnet running info is
Baseband: G891AUCS5CSB1
Android Version: 8.0.0
Samsung Experience version: 9.0
Android security patch level: February 1, 2019
How would I go about downgrading back to Nougat but the Universal firmware?
I'm quite new to the android system, and all the guides seem to have different steps to use and there seems to be a million firmwares for each version.
I was looking at the thread linked here, and there seems to be 3 of the same firmware that are all different somehow???
What would be the best, easiest, and quickest firmware to use and guide to follow? I want to go back to Nougat with the universal firmware and my phone to remain unlocked of course
any help is greatly appreciated. thanks!
the problem with this dam phone is the locked bootloader! snapdragon samsung sucks... PLUS it was exlusive to ATT
such a shame. a phone with an AMAZING camera even today and the BEST design for its time... only to be locked to AT&T, LOCKED snapdragon and really ****ty stock software super lame
because of this I'm not sure the thing can be downgraded
Hello, is that the case then? That the S7 Active can't be downgraded back to android v.7 Nougat ? I'm hoping that it can, as AT&T just forced the v.8 Oreo into my S7 this morning, and now I no longer have the very useful 'Usage Manager' app. =( I used it more than any other app, to enable/disable mobile data on the fly, and kill all running apps in background, etc etc.
Please let it be..... downgradable !=(

Safe to update to latest patch? Without breaking root / twrp?

Awful quiet around here guess everyone bought the tab s6!
I noticed an update available this August 2019. Has anyone flashed their tab s4 with Odin? And then rooted once again? I'm using a t835n and plan to get the t835 international version. But I want to be sure I can root after.
Another question - on sammobile they have so many different country options for the t835 international model. What is the actual difference? I use my device in USA so what would be the best version to flash so that I have the most bands for my carrier (TMobile). Or does flashing firmware not have the effect I am thinking on bands?
Thanks!

That's a very good question.
Are you on Oreo or Pie?
My guess, based on the rooting guides I've been reading is the one for the country that you bought the device from. I think you are on the Korean version, so I would think that would be the ideal update to use on the device and then just use it in English.
As for the S6, I'm inclined to buy another (3rd) S4 because the lack of the headphone jack is intolerable for me.
I will ask in the Note 9 forum, but do you happen to know the international version of the Note 9 that is the equivalent of the Korean 6GB Tab S4? They dropped the headphone jack on that one too. I use it to get radio on my phone.
So I rooted the Korean 6GB versions that was factory shipped with the most recent and up to date Oreo firmware and it rooted just fine. I'm missing a few apps but I'm not sure why that is (weird like missing email, internet, calculator, some google crap...). I'm trying to figure out why, but I NEVER let it connect to the internet for any reason yet. I sideloaded some of the apps and it seems fine. I'm going to check with my other Tab S4 6GB that is on the original stock firmware from the beginning to see if those apps were ever there in the first place tonight and post in the TWRP thread.
Root is fine. So I think you will be fine with the most recent firmware for Oreo. I suggest getting the Korean (region specific) firmware for your specific device.

It took me a little googling but it did turn up. Sammobile site didn't fine it for me, I had to google to get it, even thought it was still the samobile site where I found it. I didn't download any successfully yet.
