Hey,
I'd like to install LineageOS and since Modpunk just released his beta 2 it seems to be a good time. But I don't understand how to do it :/ Could someone kindly write a step by step guide for newbies like me??
I'm currently on stock (47.1.A.12.119) with locked boot loader and no root.
My Laptop runs Fedora 27 and Windows 10
Thanks

Whats up Guys its been while since I last posted and used my Nexus.
I Iam now using it for Uber eats all day.
I have seen there is several roms running 8.1 Oreo. I wanted to know what would everyone say is the best one that would feel and perform as fast as my Galaxy 8 running 8.0 Oreo.
I am Currently not rooted yet on the Nexus 7 so I know you will tell me to get Team win recovery and root first.
Also its been years since I have rooted lol with team win.
I just want the Tablet to feel extremely fast and be able to customize it as much as the rom lets me. I wanted your opinon on how much faster and snapier it will be after 8.1 Oreo. I really could not tell how fast my S8 was running until I started using the Nexus 7 again for comparison lol.
One thing I want to add as well is there way to make a complete backup of my entire device before unlocking the bootloader as in this video I found he says you have copy all filed on your computer.
Is there not a way to backup or complete a Mirror back up before unlocking and installing the boot loader again sorry guys I have not done a root in years so forgot the entire process from what I remember there was always a way to create a entire mirror backup before rooting or installing the boot loader.
Is there any other way to do this is faster way or more efficient proof since this video was filmed in 2013. So any way to root without factory resetting?
Here is the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6k4rCaMPSQ8
I did find this as well from wug fresh one click rooot with twrp but still how would I make mirror save of my entire device before I root and install the recovery?

Thanks guys
Hello guys not one answer yet? Please anyone that help me with tjhis it would be apreciated.
https://lineageos.wickenberg.nu/builds/full/flo/
Can't guarantee best/fastest but I have been having good luck with the UNOFFICIAL lineage builds at that link. They aren't necessarily 100% bug free but work very well for my usage (mostly browser, a few apps).
I used wugs unlock way back when and assume it would still work. I don't believe he still keeps it up so you may want to verify or check with other options.
This thread has way more than you will want about the rom and related issues;
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ne...ment/rom-lineageos-15-0-nexus-7-2013-t3673103
A few key things to pay attention to:
- Find the updated twrp(s)
- Read about repartitioning so that system is large enough for the ever-expanding gapps
- most use magisk for root now rather than su
All I can think of right now. I'm far from expert. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in
Thanks man I just read your message now. I do have a question what about the oreo version?
I also have my asus prime running kitkat and it is just slow laggy and buggy as hell it not running like a smooth tablet at all. On the prime I have it rooted with team win 3.0.0
I just want both to be running as fast as my galaxy S8 or as close to it as possible. It seems crazy that Prime feels so slow in comparison when it has quad core processor.
Link and thread I linked are both Oreo
This is an unofficial oreo rom
hey guys..this is my first rooting (and android) and I basically have no idea what I'm doing. It seems that most of these guys are for installing custom roms on android 9...? I'm trying to install lineage in order to have more control over my privacy... but I really don't want to brick/risk bricking or rendering the phone unusable. Again, I have no idea what I'm doing and have only just read a beginners guide on rooting. Please reply with relevant guides/tutorials and let me know if I should even be attempting this! Phone is still under a 30 day return policy also.
Hi ,
Need advice on the best way to upgrade Android version on my new (really new) Pixel 3 XL- still waiting for it.
In the lights of latest news on "EDL Bug" bricking lots of Pixel 3 phones( just search the Internet for last few days ),
I started to doubt if purchasing it was a good idea. So either I return it right away (EBay purchase- 14 days return )
or try to risk it and install Android 10 only and then wait for stable Android 12.... from all of the research it looks like
security update for Android 11 can be the culprit here? Is it possible to jump /omit upgrading to certain versions like jumping
from ver 9 to ver 10 and later straight to ver 12, or does it have to be done in sequence ?
Sorry for a noob question ,,, but until now i was using only IPhone , and now decided to try Pixel devices.
If upgrade HAS to be done in sequence, then risk of Bricking it is too high and I rather return the device , loosing on
shipping only.
Thank you very much,
Lino
Anybody ?....
Please , I will need to make a decision as soon as I receive the new phone!
I am sure that there is a lots of people here, for whom this question is very trivial...
Can I upgrade from Android Pie straight to Android 12, OTA... or should I go in steps..
Thanks. Lino
you can flash the full factory image of android 12 beta, or android 11, whichever you prefer, and google made it easy using the online android flash tool. when using this, you don't need to go in steps whatsoever.

Im running the Scorpian Rom right now. Really do not know whats causing the bricks but im gonna stick to custom roms from here on out.
I'd go with Android 12. Either Beta 4.1, or wait a week or so for the public release. The EDL thing I read is only happening on Android 11, so I think you'll be safe updating to 12.
Ok , thank you all
I think when I receive the phone, I will update OTA to version 10 first , then I wait for official stable version 12
and Sideload it ? Yes? ....Sorry i am totally new to this...
So I have to unlock the bootloader first, do i have to root it ?... like using Majisk ? in order to sideload the stable
version 12 ?
Anybody has a links to good step by step tutorial ? Will appreciate it !
Anyway watching lately lots of you tube videos about unlocking etc,
Will appreciate any general pointers how to go about it, egz. what to do first , second etc.
Thank you, Lino
Hy,
i, got a Samsung Galaxy j6+ (SM-J610 FN) that was before automatic updatet to Android 10.
So i want use it for me now and want to root and change to a Twrp recovery and any custom Rom.
-----
I had the last years many devices as Sony, HTC, and older Samsung and nevertime i had so much problems to understand and also start to flash Twrp and any rom... Yust now with this device i starting cracy :-(
-----
So the problem to understand proper/my questions (my english isn,t very well):
1. i read now nearly two day,s a lot of treads ther and on other Forums. And i starting realy confused now becaus it seems al lot of problems with newer Android System (and also Bootloader) to flash and permanently root,...
2. as i read: something on Android 10 dont want work (is broken) after Twrp/root or have other problems,...?
3. If the TWRP is flashed with existing Android 10, only Magisk is then flashed (with TRWP or ODIN) not: RMM_BYPASS_V3_CORSICANU.ZIP and not J4 + J6 + _oreo_forced_encryption_disabler.zip. Is that right?
4. So, also i read things about the existing bootloader Version that must be have to do this? I have now U2.
must i have a higher version? So many things make me realy unsure what i have to care bevor i can flash some rom e.g.
###################
So what I had made before (already):
1. Set the device back to factory setting ...
2. unlocked OEM
Then i wanted flash TWRP (and i also try,d to flash stock-Rom first after it not work,...) but everything dont want work about Odin failed e.g....
3. Did I find that the bootloader State Prenormally stood ---> I have now fixed that with date. That should fit now.
############
What i wont to do:
Preferably downgrade to Android 9 (or 8?), as the device with Android 10 is very slow now. :-(
- Flash TWRP
- Flash Magisk (get root)
- Flash Resurrection Remix (vx.x.x.) for Samsung Galaxy J6+
(????BUT I NOT SURE WHITCH ANDOID VERSION IT IS????)
- (or) Flash lineage-17.1-20200318-UNOFFICIAL-j6primelte
(????BUT THIS IS ANDOID VERSION 10 ALSO IS,NT IT ????)
*If there a good stable Version Rom with Android 9 or 8 so where/which,...?
And if i can flash to downgrade must i then flash the files: RMM_BYPASS_V3_CORSICANU.ZIP and J4 + J6 + _oreo_forced_encryption_disabler.zip? And when then in which way?
After TWRP (before Magisk), or after downgrade already,...?
--------------------
So i have a lot of Questions here, i know, sorry and somewhere it can read part,s of this, but i,m not sure what right for me . :-(
But there many treads now from 2018 til yet and it isn,t easy for me to understand, or better to find the right information's for me in this case (Android 10, downgrade,........ which Rom,....)
I would be very happy if someone can tell me understandable as I have to do exactly and which files are really needed to successfully downgrade with root on Android 9 (or 8?) and maybe even which Rom is recommended. Thanks for the time to have read this here.
Regards, paulhu
As I don't know the version, you can follow this video on YT, I hope it helps you.
Hello @hakli,
many thanks for your response.
Which version do you mean? The Galaxy J6 is: Galaxy SM J610FN / DS.
Thanks for the video, it's certainly very helpful.
What confused me most is with the two files that have to be flashed in a TWRP TREAD stood that it is not needed at Android 10, but there was no feedback from other users and in other places it's about it?
As far as the downgrade is concerned, another thing again ....
Greetings, Paulhu

I will honest with you, it is not easy to install twrp on j6+ (any version) watch every vid on YT. but follow the video and install the stock rom, and there will be a file called , you have to follow and use the magisk app to root the phone. Sorry for the late reply. I am kind a busy.
And I don't know where do you live, if you are an American , Italian or Indian. once I know , then I can embed the video that you can follow, First follow the above video and install the stock rom from sam mobile. You can PM me too.
Hello all,
I'm a newbie to this but I recently build a TWRP image for the Archos Hello 5.
GitHub - Dawnowl444/android_device_archos_ac50hello: Twrp Device tree of Archos Hello 5
Twrp Device tree of Archos Hello 5. Contribute to Dawnowl444/android_device_archos_ac50hello development by creating an account on GitHub.
github.com
Everything is mostly working except data decryption. If anyone does know how, you're welcome to share this knowledge !
I don't really know where to post that in view of the age of this Archos forum part of XDA...
Disclaimer :
You're free to flash, test, and fork my TWRP image/tree but I'm not responsable in case of brick or anything.
How to flash TWRP :
Unlock developer options
Allow OEM unlock (and activate ADB debug)
Reboot to bootloader (`adb reboot fastboot`)
Unlock your bootloader (`fastboot oem unlock`)(Do not lock back your bootloader after device tweaking or you will brick)
In fastboot flash this TWRP image (`fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.5.2_9-0-ac50hello-userdebug.img`)
Reboot in recovery (`fastboot reboot recovery` WHILE pushing the + button and then follow on screen instructions)
And voilà you have now TWRP installed
Know I advise you to backup your device (avoid flashing back, and never flash someone else, IMEI/NVRAM or other critical partition like that).
Feel free from now on to flash : Magisk for root, OpenGapps for clean Google apps, GSI rom for latest Android, or anything you like.
AC50HELLO is "ARM 32-bit, A-only" for Treble/GSI rom.
If you want improved performances and do not care about split-screen mode then flash :
Turn any Android 8.1 Oreo ROM into an Android Go-Optimized Version
If you are running a rooted Android 8.1 Oreo ROM, here's a mod that enables Android Go's special properties to make Oreo run on low-end hardware.

Great one! Could this be ported to the Hello 7 and 10 as well?

I would have love to but the thing is that I do have an Archos Hello 7 but it's completely bricked and I tried to revive it without much sucess... And the Archos Hello 10 is too expensive right now.
Now, could you transfer twrp to archos 10? I found a way to fix this device

If you bought me one will do, but in the meantime I won't spend 154,78€ on it
Fix ARCHOS?
