With the release of the Best Buy exclusive White Evo.... I'm feeling kinda bummed since I just bought mine 2 weeks ago...
Does anybody know where to find original/oem/factory shell pieces, particularly the rear bezel and the battery compartment cover. I want to repaint them white or if possible, the white versions of said pieces.
Also information might be useful to DIYers?

Pretty sure its just a white battery cover on the white ones. Which you will be able to purchase.
its more than just the battery cover.
The white 4G as far as I can tell has 2 different pieces from the original black, consisting of the battery cover and the outer rear bezel. The rubberized matte sections essentially.
The battery cover is one piece, lower frame is second piece, just the shell though, transplanting the wiring, subframes, and kickstand should be relatively easy going by the teardown images on ifixit.
I wonder if you can get the battery cover and the rear half of the phone. The back half is what houses the camera lens as well as the kickstand, so having a replacement would be nice.
I wouldn't mind another battery cover if anyone finds how where to get them. I'm sure Sprint repair stores will eventually get them in, but no idea how long that is going to take.
One to mess up, perhaps put a logo on, or the disc from those low profile car mounts, would be nice to have. They're quick and easy to pop on/off too, and it's only a matter of time before that wears out given that I replace my batteries rather than recharge them in my phone.
Edit:
I emailed HTC, lets see if they respond..
I got a response, here it is:
Thank you for contacting HTC! While HTC is proud to offer the original accessories that come standard with our extensive line-up of mobile devices we unfortunately do not have the part you are looking for. We do apologize for any inconvenience however we can direct you to two non-HTC affiliated websites that may have your desired accessory. Try browsing www.boxwave.com or www.daydeal.com. We hope your search is successful. Sincerely, HTC Customer Care

Response back to HTC for dumping me off to an accessory vendor:
I have visited the suggested websites (daydeal.com and boxwave.com) neither of which sells manufacturer OEM Parts for the EVO. I am not looking for an accessory, nor an after market part. I just want the exact same OEM Part that came with my EVO phone, the battery cover. Part number 71H03150-XXM. If HTC does not sell to consumers, is there anyone that HTC sells to that I may be able to purchase this part from?
Thank you!

I hope there is a way to get these parts, I really want to break out the airbrush and make some designs for my phone.

That is only if you purchased your phone at BestBuy and did not purchase on launch day (it's now past the 30 days.) It's not due out at Sprint stores until mid to late August. BestBuy has the exclusive until then.
Another update from HTC. So they aren't available right now, but might be in the future it seems:
Thank you for contacting HTC! At this time I am not aware of anybody who carries the OEM back cover for this. We should be supporting this soon, however I do not have an exact date that the accessories will be available. Sincerely, HTC Customer Care

Found them on ebay listed as "OEM Housing"... Might order one or two and try to see how they hold up being sanded and repainted.
I found an OEM battery cover on ebay, but they want $30 for it. A little steep in my opinion.
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Authentic-O...ultDomain_0&hash=item27b3386a12#ht_500wt_1154
I also found the OEM back chassis and battery cover.
http://cgi.ebay.com/HTC-EVO-4G-OEM-...ccessories&hash=item255bc105c4#ht_1705wt_1137
Doesn't look like it includes a new lens cover, so the lens cover may be built into the camera. That means no replacing it.
In the second listing they illustrate that it's from Samsung, so they are the actual OEM and HTC purchased the parts/phone from them. I wonder if we'll have better luck purchasing from Samsung or an authorized reseller..

Close but the branding is different. No HTC on the back cover and it says "with Google" instead of "Sprint 4G" near the bottom.
No big deal I just wonder if these are real OEM parts or if they are about to get ripped for copyright infringement...

Yeah, the first one says it's OEM and from Samsung, the second just says that it's "HTC EVO Compatible" so it's not OEM, and probably a knockoff. Especially since he's in China. We should start seeing them cheaper soon then.

Notably, I've found a few wholesale retailers for back housings that have the HTC logo on it but no chrome badging, this is perfectly flat however which means to me, an easier painting process.
Personally I don't care
I just dropped my brand new EVO today, ON THE CONCRETE!!!!!!!!
Well, the only portion that took damage externally, to my knowledge in other words, is the front bevel. I really do not like the blemishes so I went ahead and paid for the $55 set. There was a cheaper $40 option but I didn't see that till after purchasing the $55 set. If everything is legit, considering not just getting the parts I want to replace but also some of the tools needed to do the job, $55 was ok with me.
I'll keep you guys updated. Should be here next week or two. We'll see.
I want a white center with a black battery cover!

haha, I should start looting some of the pieces from my technician buddy's at sprint, all they do is stockpile them, no one would notice if they were missing a few lol. only problem is I couldn't see doing it for less than like 40$-60$, gotta split it 2 ways lol
Something fell off my shelf and feel directly on my phone earlier, cracked the screen to hell. Actual screen part is alright, but the glass is destroyed.
I have been looking for a few hours trying to find a place that has them in stock but to no avail. I am looking for a US or other North American based seller as I do not have the time to wait for a shipper from Hong Kong or elsewhere in Asia.
Does anybody know of a website or specific seller on eBay that is reputable or just has them in stock, any help at all would be very appreciated.
Thanks

I would be willing to take a look at these sellers. I've gone through Google and previous posts here rather thoroughly but cannot find a place that has them in stock.
+ 1. Where to buy? ETA on back in stock?
Bought my replacement screen from mission repair.com. Broke the keypad cable so had to order from ebay out of nj.

I used this vendor: http://www.repairsuniverse.com/samsung-vibrant-t959-lcd-touch-screen-replacement.html
But they're out of stock at the time.... Be sure to be very careful with the ribbon attaching the captivate buttons to the screen, and in general, just take dismantling the phone slowly, and it'll go fine.
got mine from ww.globaldirectparts.com/category-s/6611.htm
it was way cheaper back then though. $65 or so ...
does anyone know if the capitvate screen would fit on the vibrant??? please let me know
I just broke the GPS connector of my vibrant. It still works fine except for GPS. I can sell my vibrant w/ broken GPS at $65 + shipping from California. Do u want it? Pls send me a message, if someone's interested in my phone. Thx.

the guy who posted above you they sell parts for all phones
I recently bought a screen for a friend's captivate from http://stores.ebay.com/sbstoreonline. The quality of the screen was the same as on my vibrant and the price was right ($62.99). I'm certain that what I bought was a Samsung part adn not a knockoff. The double sided sticky tape was applied to the back of the screen - all I had to do was peel off the plastic covering the tape and lay it down (I saw some adds that show a seperate adhesive kit).
Shipping took about 3 weeks...
I bought my Moto 360 when it first came out. Since I'm from Canada and bought it in the states, I don't think my warranty applies. (correct me if I'm wrong!)
I got two watches - black and silver. Both have cracks. The silver one is pretty severe that the two cracks are about to meet (not sure what will happen when they meet).
My question is - what do I do?
Do I just live with it? What happens if the two cracks meet? Does the piece of the back fall off? If so can the watch still be worn?
Is there a place that can repair or replace the back?
Can i go to best buy, purchase two new ones, switch them for the broken ones and then return the watches claiming they cracked? I know its 'unethical' or whatever, but will best buy accept my return or will they only offer exchanges?
Thanks for your help! If you have any other suggestions I'm all ears!
Motorola should warranty them as long as you have a US address for them to ship a replacement too. I don't think they will do an advance exchange though as they like to put a hold on a credit card and won't accept anything but a US one. If the cracks meet the back shouldn't fall off as it is stuck on with a lot of double sided tape. I shaved the ears on mine down, no cracks so far and I've had it since BestBuy US started selling them.
I'll call motorola and see if they will cover it under warranty. Thanks!

Hi just ordered a battery for the LG V20 and it was supposed to be OEM and 100% brand new. However, when I received the battery, there was a black tape over the LG logo. This raised some red flags. Taking a closer look, the label on the battery has more slightly bolded letters compared to the original and the sticker itself is not applied to the battery nearly as well as the original. Another concern is the manufacture date on the battery says 2016.07.07[L]. The LG V20 was released on September 6th and didn't go on sale for another two months! What should I do about this? Is this likely a counterfeit? And do I contact LG, Ebay, or the seller?
Here is the link to the battery on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/252701172837?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
P.S. I would attach a picture I took comparing the two batteries, but cna't figure out how to do that.
Thanks
I'd say contact the seller first. If they won't let you return then contact ebay. If you paid with Paypal they usually assist you for a resolution.
Yea I never get extra batteries from eBay anymore because they're all counterfeit no matter what the description says. Your only option is Amazon, IMO.
eBay is great for cases tho. I've gotten a few counterfeit cases on previous phones that were the same and better than the real ones because they fixed certain issues that the real cases had.
Sent from my LG-H910 using Tapatalk
Don't order batteries or sdcard off of eBay too many fakes, amazon is better but I would make sure you get it from Amazon and not a 3rd party seller.
Sent from my LG-H918 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Find a local dealer for batteries that warrenties them. If your paying 15$ you get what you pay for, oem should run 40-50$ per battery
anything less its consumers fault for buying a cheap-o knock off, its like anything else. And why risk your safety with a EL-Cheapo?
Didnt anyone learn that lithium is dangerous and its not something to take lightly? NOTE 7?? Those knock offs dont go through ANY quality tests, and usually dont even have the resistors on the top of battery for protection.
Just google search cheap batteries from ebay, youll see what im talking about.. Stay away from Ebay and Amazon for this stuff. Same exact marketplace style, just 2 different parent companies.
east coast has store called ( Batteries Plus And Bulbs ) find a place similar and do biz local.
1 for exchanges and issues, 2 because you have a place to hold accountable and verify reputation.
We see this all the time on batteries.
Just order the cradle pack https://www.amazon.com/LG-Battery-Charging-BCK-5200-Charger/dp/B01M5C23SV it has everything included and is quite cheap.
It might be safe but performance probably won't be the best. Contact the seller and he should resolve it for you, he obviously knows they're fake and won't risk the bad feedback. A guy on eBay with a few thousand feedback would never have these amounts of official LG replacements fyi. They're easily found online just be more careful next time.
Hello:
I wanted to know if any of you knows of a good seller on ebay or any other place thats not amazon where i can buy a new lcd screen replacement for my ze551ml, i was trying to purchase one and i notice some ads doesnt have the logo and i wanted one with the logo on it, or maybe its just that they erase the logo to be able to sell it?
Well if anyone knows of a good seller or can pass me the link for one please tell me.
Thanks in advance!
If it's any help, I've bought several LCDs and/or front glass for various phone over the years. Some sellers black out the brand names in pictures. (Even if the item ships with a logo.) A lot of replacement glass has arrived with a black sticker covering the "Samsung" (or whatever) logo. I can only assume this is for copyright protection, limiting sellers' liability for any push back against parts sold outside of "official" channels, and/or 3rd party replacements.
Just because it's missing from the pics doesn't mean the replacement won't have it. May be worth emailing the seller(s)?

as awoolf said. you must not worry about brand logo it is always written whether shown on image or not. here are few recommendations. from where ever you buy buy screen with frame. with frame it is super easy to replace and not much difference in price. without frame i have broken new screen replacement many time. second if you can wait always buy from china. especially from aliexpress. they send quality product with cheap price. last week i got one for ZE551ML for $23. it came with glasss screen guard and tools. it took 12 days to reach me from order date. use app to order screen. as a new user you may get $2 or $4 coupon. but keep in mind from wherever you order get it with frame. here is a link which i bought.

But wouldn't the sellers on Ebay and such be some sort of knockoffs ? Because I need an LCD, mine is a little bit cracked, but I dont wan't a chinese low quality copy. I would like genuine ASUS parts!
I just bought a replacement from this seller works flawlessly eBay
•No dead pixels
•Asus Logo on the front
•No digitizer issues
•2 day shipping
I love my zenfone 2 all over again after installing this new screen its actually a very easy fix as well.

buddy you need to understand from where ever you buy weather said to be original. it will be a copy. untill you buy directly from asus service center. all so called genuine are copy. asus issue original part only on a RMA to service center only.
as per quality is concerned either you buy from ebay, amazon or local sellers. it will ultimately come from china. i have purchased several LCD's from china had no issue and no one could differentiate it from original.

Had a replacement screen from China via eBay and bought the screen, digitizer and frame all in one for around $30 and no issues at all
Original one died, had the lines through it
So in essence why go original when the original stuffed up.
So happily went with one that offered good warranty and all worked out well
Had bought a second screen and frame also
So have a full frame spare and essentially glass as well
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD
I also have the infamous tearing lines on mine, I ordered this screen with frame so no glueing or things like this
https://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/0.html?orderId=86319706999709&productId=32823303482
Should take 15 minutes to install.
EDIT: I realized I bought the same one as @sukhwant717
I received mine, looks like great quality, easy to install too ?
