Does anyone know if you can host a device over usb and charge at the same time? I wasn't sure if USB C would factor into this or not.

I would like to be able to plug a USB cable into my pixel xl on my car and be able to charge the phone and play music.
My idea was to use a USB c hub with pd passthrough power. Plug in a DAC to the hub and a USB c charging cable to a cigarette USB c fast charger.
There are lots available for the Macbooks but will they work with the pixel? Does the pixel allow other devices whilst receiving power?

It sounds like you need a kernel capable of 'USB OTG plus Charge'. I have only seen this on Nexus devices. Look in your favorite kernel's forum thread and see if there is support.
Pretty sure this is feasible, though I'm not sure if Android 7 has anything that could pose a restriction.

I have an otg cable that has USB, and micro USB charging ports, but I can only get one thing to work at a time. Here's a link to the cable so you know what I'm talking about.

Slowly transitioning all my tech to USB C standard. Ideally I want every thing to charge USB C to USB C. A lot of USB C wireless headphones can only charge USB A to USB C. Does anyone know of headphones that can charge USB C to C?
