Because I turned it on after I put in m t mobile sim card and used it.

How do I turn it on/off. I havent found it yet, but it is fixed to my notifications bar, and I don't want it there.

Thank you for confirming. Are you able to confirm a couple of other things?
VoLTE?
RCS Messaging? (I think there should be an advanced setting to enable this).
Band 71 available?
I am trying to figure out if I buy and unlocked phone from Samsung, and flash the TMO ROM, or buy the carrier version and clean up the bloatware (I keep my phones so resale value doesn't matter so much for me)

I don't know about Volte,The phone does not let me select LTE alone. I can not tell RCS messaging don't know anything about that. Ban 71 is supported

I have found the only way to turn it on or off is through the notification bar an then it opens the window to change wifi call settings, I am still looking.
This is what I also found: go into the dialer, top right hand corner are three buttons touch that go to settings, and you will see wifi calling listed and you can turn it on and off in there, too.

Thanks! Was just trying to find something like this as now that I turned it off so it's not on the notification bar, I still know how to turn it on.

Is there any chance you could post a screen snaps of your unlocked S9 with T-Mo SIM on the *#2263# band support screen? On the T-Mo phone at least they turn down LTE Band 28 and UMTS Band 8 whenever you pop in a T-Mo SIM but open it up when you insert another carrier SIM. Since I can flash the unlocked firmware on my T-Mo device, this would be a great work around if those two bands persist!!
Apparently without those bands, roaming sucks in AUS and NZ, and without B8 UMTS parts of Europe (esp. South France) loses coverage.
Thanks in advance, as well as for the Intel! I do know you lose native digits support and video calling from the dialer, but those features don't matter to me as long as WiFi calling works which you proved.
Attaching my band list, as you can see no B28 or B8 UMTS

That's strange--the unlocked model is showing one less band than T-Mobile, LTE 46 which is for LTE LAA on the unlicensed 5GHz band. Thank you for the snap, much appreciated!

Are you able to enable "Cellular calling preferred" in the wifi calling options? After enabling this option while on wifi instead of "Wifi Calling Preferred" the phone reverts back to wifi calling turned on even though I had chosen "Cellular calling preferred".
Does this happen to you? It still happens to my S9 unlocked and also the Note 8. Called Samsung about it but doesn't seem like anyone bothered to fix this.

Yes, there are a few bands not showing that the unlocked version supports. Samasung tech told me it is SIM specific, if I had an attitude SIM in the phone it should show the bands that ATT uses such as band 30.

The unfortunate thing is that TMobile SIM is disabling B28 and UMTS/WCDMA band 8 which are valid roaming bands for other carriers that TMobile can roam on. The AT&T SIM actually enables those bands, as do international SIMs. It seems like a strange oversight / mistake?

Yea let me know in 10-15 minutes if it goes back to Wifi calling. My phone will do the same. It'll switch to cellular calling but switch back to wifi calling in a few minutes on its own

It has not switched back yet.

I just turned mine on 5 minutes ago. My notifications now shows Calls will be made over Wi-Fi.
If I toggle wifi calling on and off again it'll go away and go back to cellular calling.
Do you have Keep Cell Data on enabled in developer settings? I don't have developer settings enabled at all so maybe that has something to do with it?

[Q] ATT signal troubles on H815 US

I purchased my phone (h815 US model) online from swappa and I love the feel and look of the phone, Love the camera, BUT my phone wants to stay on hspa all the time. Where i had 3 or 4 bars on my s5 active I get HSPA unless I go in to settings and sellect ATT:LTE from network operators which only last until my phone goes to sleep then im back on hspa. Anyone else experiencing this? Or anything i should try? Thanks in advance for any help!

Maybe with hidden menu access via dialer, you can permanently enabled it...I don't know the actual code that might work for your device..but you can find it through here..In general threads maybe
I had to set the proper APNs on my H815, additionally I had to tell it to use GSM/WCDMA/LTE Auto under Network Mode in the Mobile Networks settings.

Thank you @Daptonic . I was attempting to use the "ATT nxtgenphone" APN because it works better on ATT devices but I guess the ATT Phone APN is needed for non ATT devices. Rebooted phone and it went straight to 4g. Thanks for responding.
Edit: dammit, it went back to hspa again......

Use this phone on Cricket Wireless?

I'm currently using the AT&T H810 on Cricket Wireless and am wondering how to get the data to work with this Verizon variant. I can make calls when I put my Cricket SIM card in, but I get no data. Any ideas or anyone already get this working? Thanks!
Did you change the APN settings? Also, AT&T uses LTE bands: 2, 4, 5, and 17 primarily. The Verizon G4 doesn't have band 17. so you are not going to get very good coverage in buildings or at far distances from the tower.

I didn't but I think cricket did it remotely when I put the SIM card in, how do I check? Also is it possible to unlock band 17? I've seen posts here and there talking about unlocking different bands on variants which don't have them unlocked by default. Thanks.

I know I had to put the APN settings in myself when using a T-Mobile SIM. I would Google "Cricket APN Settings" and then go to the settings on your phone (under more I believe), and edit the APN. You can't unlock band 17 unfortunately.

Yeah, why can't we unlock band 17? I tried using a few methods listed where you write to the NV ITEMS and enable all kinds of bands, but it still didn't work. I only got LTE when I force it via a hidden menu setting, but then I couldn't make or receive any calls. I get HSPA and HSPA+ but that's it and there's a constant icon in the notification bar of a white sim card with a question mark on it...!?

Because the phone doesn't support it. You can't unlock bands that the phone doesn't have to begin with.

When I tested with my Cricket SIM card calls just worked. I didn't have to do anything. However as you mentioned I had to manually update the APN to get data working.

That is odd. I wonder if I met someone at a Cricket wireless there if techs would help getting it working.

Does the N930FD have the option to enable wifi calling

Hello, can anyone tell me if there is an option to enable wifi calling on the N930FD. If there is, it should be found in the dialer>3 dot button>settings then scroll to the bottom. Thanks in advance.

Is this for T-Mobile? Were you able to use wifi-calling eventually?
No I was asking for Rogers in Canada. However, since there were no responses I stayed with the N930W8 Canadian model because wifi calling is a must for me due to poor reception in my area.

If it's like the S7 Edge Duos then the sim card that you want to do wifi calling from has to be in sim1. If you put it in the sim2 slot then it won't work. I don't remember why this was as I returned the S7 version in favor of the Note 7 and just getting it unlocked ASAP.
If you have the setting I should think so. Open your dialer app and go to settings, it should be the bottom setting. I know it is with mine here in the UK.

Network changes to H+ when in call

Hi,
As anyone noticed that their network changes to H+ from 4G/LTE when in call ?
I'm in Canada with Videotron, and I have 4G/LTE displayed all the time on my data connection, however when in Call it's always showing H+.
All is working for now, but I'm wondering if this could interfere with VoLTE when it finally gets activated on my network.
Thanks.
I noticed this on T-Mobile in the US. I didn't have voLTE enabled at the time because it wasn't enable by default out of the box. With voLTE enabled it stays on LTE
Volte disabled out of the box, enable volte, and it wont switch to hsdpa during calls.

Yeah, all you AT&T users tweet, call, email etc anyone and everyone in AT&T including support and complain long and loud about AT&T's painful no VoLTE and VoWiFi policy on none at&t branded phones. its crazy.. better yet, just screw em and go to TMO...
A short work around for is to use a 3rd party app such as TExtNow the only downside you wont be using your Number.

Not getting VoLTE on T-mobile on XT1710-06 version

Is or has anyone else been able to get VoLTE working on T-Mobile US on this model specifically? LTE and WiFi Calling work in general, but the "Enhanced 4G LTE Mode" toggle isn't there to allow VoLTE. The model has the same number of bands as the XT1710-01 model, but is on the RETLA channel, by the way.
Hi, actually I was having similar issues. VoLTE, seems to be different but is based on your Carrier mostly. If you call someone from a different carrier it may not be enabled. I'm with AT&T, whenever I call someone with AT&T and we are both with good 4g LTE, in the call, changes the status to HD. But, just with AT&T. At least that's how it Works for me. We should wait someone to confirm is this is how other carries behave.

Apologies for the late reply. Definitely no VoLTE or HD voice between me and other T-Mobile users. No matter what I tried it just never came up. If anyone's considering using this specific variant of the phone in the US, I'd be aware of the limits beforehand.

-06 is a North American dual sim variant, correct?
Are both SIM cards on t-mobile?
Could one use SIMS from different carriers?

-06 is a North American dual sim variant, correct. Updates should go through ATT Mex, I believe. And yes, you can use sims from other carriers. I used one sim card when I tried it and only utilized one of the sim slots as a result. T-Mo VoLTE just doesn't seem to have been certified for that variant.
So T-Mobile WIFI calling works on this variant of the Z2 Play? If so that is good to know especially when traveling overseas even if some other advanced features don't work.
I have an XT1710-06 retla device and I can confirm that wifi calling with T-mobile does *NOT* work on my device. There is a setting to enable wifi calling, but it never seems to connect and all calls still go over mobile. This is 100% testable if I for instance go into a deep basement that has wifi but no cellular signal -- I can browse the internet but cannot make phone calls or SMS, even though I have wifi calling turned on.
This is probably related to why VoLTE doesn't work either.
Also (as mentioned in another thread) still no updates for it past February 7.1.1 update. No later security updates and no Oreo updates.

Hi,
I'm super curious how did you get your Z2 Play to have VoLTE. I 've tried everything - new sim, IMEI of ATT branded phone, activated SIM on ATT phone, etc. , to no avail. I'm so frustrated and about to get another phone, because my HSPA signal is much weaker than LTE where I'm at and constantly have missed (straight to voicemail) or dropped calls. Please, let me know how did you get it to work.
Thanks
Maybe the problem is VolTE itself. As I tested. Unless both phones are with the same carrier and working good over 4G (good signal area) you can't get it working. At least in where I live that was true for a friend's phone and mine. So VolTE was good, until signal dropped hard. But impossible to work with other carriers.
Even it was good under Lineage OS and tested with Toxyc OS, but I saw the main thing is that 4G LTE should be firstly working fine. And same for anyone you call. Otherwise call will be normal. And for 4G LTE it depends on area support too.
Sorry for late reply

Same phone (XT1710-06 retla, rooted stock ROM on Oreo), and wifi calling on Tmobile also doesn't work for me. I can enable it in Settings, but I cannot send SMS or make calls over wifi with no cell service. After a while (a few hours) I get a Moto Settings notification that it can't enable Wifi calling, with a message underneath that says "Enabling." I can't dismiss the notification, only snooze it for up to 2 hours, and after I disable wifi calling it does eventually go away after a couple days.
Your problem is because none of the XT1710 variations have the 600MHz Band 71. It is the most recently added band and very few phones currently out there support it yet. As far as the HD voice issues mentioned...both people on the call have to be using a Volte supported phone and then HD automatically activates.
