I updated my phone to open beta 4 and installed twrp.
I flashed latest magisk zip file and no error occurred but the phone doesn't boot up.
Any help?
Thanks
How did you update? TWRP? Which one? Clean install?
What error?
Did you let it boot before install Magisk, or did you install Magisk right after OB4?
If its just dumping you back to TWRP generally a factory reset will make it boot again. (You backed up right?)

I updated via OTA.
Universal twrp by codeworkx
No. After installing OBA i flashed twrp and then magisk
I just flashed rom in twrp. Reboot to recovery. Flashed magisk and no verity and it booted.
Updated to Android 8.1.0 Oxygen OP5T_O2_Open_4 via OTA. Boots fine. Flashed Magisk-v16.0(1600).zip via TWRP. Bootloop.
Extracted stock kernel from OnePlus5TOxygen_43_OTA_007
Flashed stock kernel in fastboot. Boots fine. Flashed magisk via TWRP. Bootloop.
Flashed stock kernel in fastboot, immediately flashed magisk via TWRP. Bootloop.
Flashed stock kernel in fastboot. Boots fine. Patched stock kernel in magisk, flashed patched in fastboot. Bootloop.
Also tried variations with and without ElementalX, before and after Magisk, with and without cache wipes.
Currently I'm running:
Android 8.0.1
Oxygen OP5T_O2_Open_4
Kernel 4.4.74-ElementalX-OPt-3.00 (kernel extracted from 43_OTA_007 patched via TWRP flash tool)
Build A5010_43_180310
Magisk not installed
Runs fine except lack of root.
Found a fix. https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/guide-magisk-official-version-including-t3577875
Flash Magisk in recovery, then flash the work around, do NOT wipe cache (that's where the fix lives).
I recommend keeping the fix on the phone, not just doing an adb sideload, that way you can recover without a computer if you wipe cache. And of course keeping a working backup of boot.
Same config as my earlier post, but now with working root through Magisk

I've been trying to install OOS 4.1.0 for a few hours at this point without any luck with any method. Every time I try to install it I just get a bootloop and I have to reflash 4.0.3.
Things I have tried:
Flashing incremental OTA zip (from TWRP and official recovery)
Flashing full OTA zip (from TWRP and official recovery)
Reflashing stock 4.0.3 boot before installing
Dirty flashing 4.1.0 full zip over 4.0.3 and 4.1.0
Wiping system and cache before installing
I feel like I've done just about everything beyond fully wiping my phone and everything I've tried has never given me any problem when updating in the past, does anyone have any ideas what I could do to make this work?
Flash Twrp 3.0.4.1 by jcadduono
Wipe data-dalvik-system-cache to do a Clean flash.
Flash the 4.1 Oos.
Flash SuperSu 2.79 Stable or Magisk if you want root.
Reflash recovery again. Reboot to recovery. If it works reboot to system. If not flash recovery again. Reboot to recovery to check if it works.
Incremental ist alwys a bad idea if you modified your prhone. TWRP is a modification. SO ALWAYS use FULL zip from TWRP. But why this causes a bootloop in your case... dunno. I always use blu_spark TWRP and have no problems.
my flashing history:
i was on audax (oos based nougat rom) with blu spark kernel before, then went to official ob1, then back to audax, then back to stock oos nougat and now i flashed audax and after clean flashing it, it just wont boot up.
when i try to boot up i see the 1+ logo but then it reboots to recovery. i also tried flashing stock nougat again and also flashed stock kernel manually but it also doesnt work.
i always do:
1. wipe system/dalvic/cache/data
2. install ROM
3. wipe dalvik/cache
4. flash magisk (also tried without flashing magisk)
5. reboot
i've been looking on the interwebs all day but nothing worked.. help pls :/
EDIT: problem was blu spark twrp. Maybe installing Oreo ****ed it up. I flashed codeworkx newest twrp universal build and now Im able to boot again!! Btw: I also found that magisk 15.0 prohibits a proper boot up and results in a boot loop. version 15.2, however, does the trick!
when it auto reboot to recovery, formate data
When s**t happens, it is wise to start everything from scratch:
-boot in fastboot mode and flash stock recovery with "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" (rename recovery.img with your recovery filename), then reboot recovery and select english, advanced, adb sideload;
-flash stock OS with "adb sideload rom.zip" (rename rom.zip with your Oxygen OS filename).
Procedure will require some minute because of the large file size. Remember to save all your data on internal storage first!
I advice you to flash original recovery because often sideloading in TWRP leads to some error.
Your phone will boot again... after that you may reflash TWRP, Magisk etc
I had the same issue. Bootloop and jumb into recovery by itself. You have to flash magisk 15.2 via recovery and will be boot.

He says that it occurs even without Magisk... I had a similar trouble once, and the only way to solve it was the procedure I wrote above...
I dont know if you can boot it w/o root

Why not? Stock OS is not rooted.

He said audrax not stock oos
SOLVED! TWRP was the only variable left that I didn't think of. See initial post for solution. thx for help!
Not sure if I flashed the Flash Kernel wrong but I unlocked bootloader, flashed twrp, then flashed the flash kernel. Using stock rom but my phone still fails safteyNet. I tried with a checker and with the Google Pay app. Was my problem when I flashed TWRP? Should I just have temp booted into TWRP to flash the flash kernel?
Does TWRP break Safetynet?
I use the latest Flash Kernel and the latest TWRP and still pass Safetynet according to Magisk Manager's internal check. Your problem is somewhere else.
Hi there. I wanted to go back to stock ROM, but with TWRP, caesium kernel and root/magisk. Right now I am on a custom ROM. So I wanted to backup with swift backup pro, TWRP. Then flash stock image to both slots / full wipe. Then boot to TWRP with fastboot, flash TWRP zip and kernel plus magisk, reboot TWRP and flash my debloater script. Then next month flash the factory image without the -w flag in the batch, and repeat the process above to have kernel and root. Am I missing something? Is the planned process proper? Or did I plan wrong steps?
I think you're fine, except an OTA will be more efficient the second time around.
Backup.
Connect P2XL to PC and Flash stock image to both slots.
Boot into TWRP using fastboot.
Install TWRP to the recovery ramdisk (as of TWRP 3.3.0-0).
Flash Magisk.
Flash your (unnecessary IMHO) debloater script.
Boot.
Enjoy the device until the next update, then...
Download a full OTA to the device.
Boot into TWRP.
Install the OTA.
Install TWRP to the recovery ramdisk (as of TWRP 3.3.0-0).
Flash Magisk.
Boot.
As of the release of TWRP 3.3.0-0 zip files are no longer available for installing TWRP to boot.img. TWRP will install itself into the boot.img by selecting "Install Image", then selecting "Install to recovery ramdisk".
Thanks, Sir.
OTA does not overwrite TWRP then?
Or flash OTA, boot to TWRP, flash TWRP as image, kernel & magisk? I guess I'll decrypt before flashing OTA?
An OTA will overwrite both TWRP and Magisk since it flashes a stock boot image. However, you are installing the OTA using TWRP and thus have TWRP resident in memory, so as long as you do not reboot you can flash TWRP to the ramdisk and then flash Magisk.

Thanks again, Sir.
Whenever I flash TWRP or Lineage recovery I lose wifi. It refuses to turn on. I can flash TWRP, magisk, bootloop fix and magisk will work fine but I have no wifi.
Update: I managed to get Magisk working by installing the apk, copying the boot.img from the rom zip and patching it then flashing it back using adb fastboot.
I can't get a recovery to work though, I tried flashing TWRP and it put me into a bootloop until I flashed back the magisk modded boot.img
