Hello.
I have an Acer Iconia One 10 (B3-A30) that for some reason stopped charging when the tablet is powered on. The usb port actually doesn't do anything when it is powered on, I can't access it from my laptop either.
As soon as I turn it off, the tablet charges fine and is then recognized by my laptop(charge only).
Any ideas on what might be happening? I have tried every USB cable in the house.
Thanks in advance!

I searched everywhere but haven't seen this problem. My Sprint Note 2 charges fine in every AC charger I have tried, my OTG cable registers when I plug it into the phone, but no matter what cable or USB port I try on my computer, it isn't recognized at all. No charge light, no system tray notification, no nothing. Every other device I have plugged into my computer is recognized every time.
This is complicated by the fact that I just installed a new motherboard and CPU and I hadn't used USB on my old computer for a while so I don't know if it was working before the upgrade or not. I'm going to try to find another computer to try it on, but does this sound like a bad phone USB port or a computer USB problem?
Never mind. it works on another computer, so it must be a problem with my computer.
So I fugured the aftv shuts down itself after a while. However, my usb mouse I plugged in seems to be staying powered all the time.
Is there a way to shut this down rather than pulling the usb lead out?

Hi, I just bought an OTG adapter to connect USB stuff to a Galaxy Tab S 10.5, however it does not seem to work with my iPhone 5S.
Whenever I connect the phone to the tablet using the adapter the tablet recognizes it and the phone starts charging, but only for about one second, then the phone is disconnected and stops charging, but again for about one second when it is reconnected by the tablet and so on... lt essentially gets stuck on this loop until it is physically disconnected.
The OTG adapter works fine with a Sony camera I got here, so this problem is unlikely to be hardware related.
Has anyone seen this sort of problem before? Any suggestions on how to solve it?
Thanks,
Victor
That's something new to me.
Before with my Galaxy S4 I could charge the phone easily when I turned my PC off. I have set in the BIOS the option that allows to power the USB ports while the PC is off for that. It worked perfectly for my S4 as well as my tablet. But somehow it doesn't work for HTC 10. As soon as I turn off the PC the phone stops charging. What's going on? Is the USB-C the reason that happens?
(I am using a xiaomi microUSB to usb-c adapter)
I'd assume that it's not getting enough power to charge the HTC 10 now.

But is the power given to the USB port any different to when the PC is on? There is a setting in the BIOS to keep the USB ports powered on.
If the power given to the USB ports is the same when the PC is off and on then that shouldn't make any difference. Do you have any source that says the power (amps/volts) given to the usb ports when the computer is off is different?
Ok. I've did a bit of a testing and found out that if I turn off my computer while the htc 10 is connected then as long as the computer powers down the charging stops. But when I disconnect it and reconnect it the charging goes back. It might be that the "USB mode" is breaking the charging because when I attach the cable after the computer is powered down I get the notification that the charging is slower than usually which is fine and I know that will be the case (USB 2.0 gives only 500mA instead of 2A that the wall charger will give).
Boy, I wish I knew a way how to make this break when powering the computer down not occuring as it's a pain in the butt to have to reconnect it again.
I've just received an item (OTG 7-in-1) I got off eBay which I'm primarily interested in for moving GoPro footage to external storage whilst on a trip away, no computer access.
The only problem is the Z5P I'm using isn't detecting it, but is charging from it once plugged in.. It detects the stock OTG cable with storage without an issue.
I'm just wondering if anyones come across something like this before? I've had OTG issues before which seemed to be kernel/recovery based. No idea where to start...
Have you tried plugging it in and detecting USB device before turning the power on?

I did indeed. I found that leaving the device plugged in with a single usb and resetting my phone, the hub powered up through the splash screen and has worked since. The only problem is that the phone only detects it with a single usb stick in. More than one and it refuses to find it, but once it's powered it reads all usb devices including memory cards at once.
It works now, regardless. Thanks anyway!
