Hello experts
two weeks before I installed LineageOS on my Samsung S7.
most APPs and functions working wonderful, but I only missing one feature from the original Samsung software: "Always On Display"...
On my new LineageOS I can find a funktion called screensaver with analog/digital clock, but it only works with docked charging cable....
last week I tried to install the APK [com.samsung.android.app.aodservice_3.2.13-32130020].
Unfortunalety with the error code: "The package conflicts with an existing package with the same name"
Also I tried some APPS lile "Always On AMOLED" but it drains to much battery power...
Anyone an idea ?
System:
Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930F
LinegeOS 14.1-20180301-NIGHTLY-herolte
open_gapps-arm64-7.1-nano-20180218
Best Regards

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Official LineageOS thread for your device.

Hello.
Recently I made a remote control solution which can control your Android-based phone on PC. Server runs on Windows-based PC only for now. (Server is based on MFC) Client(Your phone) should able to get root permission.
We verified this solution works on Galaxy S, Galaxy S2, Galaxy Note. But not yet tested on the other devices due to lack of devices.
If you have interests controlling your phone on PC, please check this out and leave us feedback. If you are willing to make this project better, feel free contact to us. Remoteroid will get better than ever, with your supports and contribution.
Project site:
- Since I'm new user to XDA, I can't leave URL for project page.
just google 'remoteroid'! (remoteroid on Google Code)
Brief build instructions (For client):
Checkout both 'ActionbarSherlockLib' and 'android' into your workspace, make sure Android 4.0.3 System image exists on your system and latest ADT has installed.
Once all prerequisites are fulfilled, just press 'Run' button on Eclipse to install Remoteroid on your phone.
Please test on Galaxy Nexus for us. If not working I will request this thread be taken down.
Thank You.
Bro, your post should be in the Android Apps and Games or Android Software Development. There is nothing Galaxy Nexus specific in your product or post.
In LineageOS blog they report "Two new touchscreen gesture options have been added for lowering and raising the media volume". Did anyone find that feature?
Yes, in changes of latest nightly :
https://review.lineageos.org/197293
I did the upgrade and I don't find this new feature in android parameters.

I did notice the following 3 new Gerrit entries (though there may be more).
https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/197293/
https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/197054/
https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/196995/
I'm not totally sure but, it may only be available for certain devices at this time but, I'm sure that it could be implemented for more devices over time.
Though, i do love the Changelog that Lineage provides but, they have a tendency to result in more questions with a clever form of open ended statements.
Good Luck!

Hey Guys,
I'm running LineageOS on multiple devices and was wondering if its possible to configure the privacy guard. For instance, that it don't allowed newly installed applications to start at boot, or runing in background. Do you understand?
Devices:
Samsung S7 LOS 14.1 official link
Samsung S4a LOS 14.1 unofficial link
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 official link
You can use 'enable by default' option for newly installed apps but it only blocks personal permissions by default. When you install a new app, you'll be prompted to take control of privacy guard to set other permissions.

So there is no way to preconfig this? Like a simple config file?

Anyone? This seams so easy and fundamental for me, that I can't believe no one needed or implemented that feature

Locating a Guide, Tutorial, etc... that's specific to Privacy Guard is a challenge and I do believe that certain LineageOS features should have something to explain as well as some guidance and such.
The best that I can find is actually within a device specific area of the forum that appears to apply to most all device regarding this feature.
Hopefully the information on the following thread is helpful for you and you may be able to obtain some member guidance and clarification as a question "in general".

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but in my LOS15.1 ROM, I can go to Settings and search for "privacy", and find the settings for Privacy Guard. The PG settings for each app can be configured manually, and there are also a few options like "Enabled by default" and "Show notifications".
Hi
I just flashed my Samsung Galaxy S3 with LineageOS 14.1 (lineage-14.1-20190117-nightly-i9300-signed) i'm having a few problems with the camera and geolocation.
Also flashed GAPPS (open_gapps-arm-7.1-nano-20190209)
When i use the default lineage camera app i get a lot of flickering, i found out by installing "open camera" i could change to 50hz and the flickering goes away.
Is there a way to change this also in the default camera app? maybe there is a better alternative for a app, i'm not really a fan of open camera, and it is a problem because snapchat still use the default app.
My other problem is geolocation is not working even though i installed gapps, when i start my weather app or any other app that needs location it detects my location to be in sweden, even though i live in denmark.
It works fine with GPS enable, but at the cost of battery, i prefer using the option where it detects the location through wifi.
am i missing something or is these options simply not working right now?

I don't have this variant myself but, this issue has been experienced by a handful of members and discussed on a handful of threads.
The following thread post has some helpful information that may help you as well...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=77005020
... The above post is located within the following Official LineageOS 14.1 thread that's specific to your device?

If you are unable to obtain any support or guidance (within a reasonable amount of time) on the above thread, you can always try to obtain some member guidance within the following Q&A thread that's also specific to your device as well.

Hi all,
i still very much like the Nextbit Robin and i found the concept behind https://maruos.com/ to be very cool and i would like to see this running on the robin.
As maru is now based on LineageOS and Lineage 15.1 was a very stable experience on the device i just wanted to suggest porting maru to robin.
(Sadly i myself lack the skills to do this)
There is a very active google group
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/maru-os
and a development section
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/maru-os-dev
that already contains some hints/patches on how to take this to other devices from existing lineage device trees.
I tought i would post this here so maybe someone with the required knowledge to do a maru build might take an interest in doing so :highfive:
Best regards
I believe this utilizes USB-C to HDMI which isn't supported on ether because of hardware limitations. There may be Chromecast support for it's desktop environment feature but I'll have to check. If so, I see a possible use case.
Hey AnierinB,
i had the same concern but maru supports chromecast & miracast for the desktop environment.
(it should be working already as its shown in the videos on their website)
Best regards
