Theme it! If your stock, use Andromeda+substratum. If your rooted, then just use substratum :good:

Camera Features of Pixel XL 2 on Pixel XL

Hello, first of all I would like to apologize for my English. I created this thread to know if it would be possible to bring the new features of the google pixel xl 2 cameras to our google pixel because according to google everything was done through software, would there be any way to bring it to our phone?
What features exactly? The DoF/Bokeh is not only software, it has to do with the dual pixel tech Pixel 2 has, it's hardware, even it's somehow implemented on Pixel 2016s it'll never be as good.
Don't know of any other strikingly different feature other than that.

There's an app somewhere on here that has the pixel 2 camera APK. If you're on the 8.1 DP 1, you have to clone the APK and install it to run alongside the stock camera, because it was originally made for 8.0.

Giving up Samsung s9 plus for pixel 2 xl

Should I be doing this swap?
Did anybody do the same?
I like pixel's smoothness and animations but I can't say that I am not satisfied with Samsung. It's a solid device with very nice screen, camera and stereo speakers.
It is only that there is a one month old pixel available and I am tempted.
Still enjoy stock Android that's why I am using my Nexus sometimes

Unless it's a super great deal or you really hate the notch, I would wait for the Pixel 3 XL. I always get phones within the 1st month release to enjoy the lastest and greatest for as long as possible. The Pixel 2 XL about to hit 1 year and is a step backwards from the S9 in terms of specs too.

I have swaped from s9 to oneplus 6 than to Pixel 2xl ,Thats The best choice i have done
I'm happy with Pixel 2 XL just because I get updates faster and because I absolutely love stock Android. For the rest, Pixel 2 XL costs too much for what it offers. Not a great audio, not great battery management, display has black crush (and it's not even HDR), the package lacks of USB to connect to a computer and so on. I'd stick to S9 Plus unless I'd prefer stock Android (maybe you can root and install a ROM?).

Besides if that, i had the s9 plus before the Pixel 2 XL camera is better on Pixel same as software and updates..
S9+ has a very good display better battery life micro SD port...
Pixel 2 XL for sure. I switched from an iPhone 7 Plus and wish I would've done so last year when the 2 XL came out. Pure Android is so nice without all the Samsung crap.

Pixel 3XL roms/stuff on Pixel 3?

Good day guys,
Sorry to probably ask this question for the millionth time or revive old/dead posts. Can the Pixel 3 XL stuff work on the Pixel 3?
Like roms, kernels etc..please enlighten me. I will receive my Pixel soon and would like to mod it. I am not seeing a lot of stuff out there for the Pixel 3 though...or is it just me?
Many thanks in advance

Some Custom Kernels can I don't think the Custom Roms will work. Go to this thread ( [Guide] Pixel 3 XL Android 9.0 (Pie) Unlock/Root/Install Images/Kernels/Recovery + by homeboy76 ) There are links for Pixel 3 XL Custom Kernels (#7) and Custom ROMs (#10).

Custom ROM support

How likely is it to get custom ROM support for OnePlus 7T? Since the 7 is still far behind in number of custom ROMs. Many popular ROMs doesn't support the 7. What do you all think?

My guess is that some ROMs, Magisk ones in particular, will continue to work on the 7T. xXx's ROM works all the way back to the 5/5T. I imagine it'll end up working on the 7T.
Is custom rom support likely to be far higher on OP 7T Pro than OP 7T ?

Op7t will be released worldwide just like op7 pro. Whereas op7t pro will not be released in US (except mclaren). So if you want custom rom support either get op7t or op7pro(non t).

Yes if I buy OnePlus I will buy the 7T as opposed to 7T Pro. Thanks for clarifying.
If I buy OP 7T, I will use OxygenOS for the first 2 years and then switch to Custom Rom for the final 3rd year of usage.
Anyone else planning to buying and using for 3 years minimum ?

I usually keep my phone for two years. I'm on the Pixel 2 XL now and I'm planning on getting the oneplus 7t this week. The pixel 4xl looks like it's going to be about $1,400 CDN dollars and that's too much. When I get the 7t, I will unlock the bootloader, so if I want to root it afterwards, I can.

I've never tried OxygenOS, but everything I've read sounds good, so I'll definitely stay on it for awhile. I've tried most of the custom ROMs on my pixel, but now on Android 10, I'm on stock and I like it.

I heard it's going to cost about $1,400 CDN dollars. That's crazy and the oneplus 7t is almost as good except without the soli gestures. Plus I've never owned a OnePlus and thought I should try them out

I would not recommend switching to the OP 7 or 7T from pixel if you are on pixel for the camera. The disappointment is real LOL although EVERYTHING else about the OP7 is better then the pixel (I had P2XL and P3XL) the camera is really really bad. Just a heads up!

I found someone today here in Toronto who is selling his oneplus 7 pro, brand new, sealed in the box for $550 CDN. I'm going to pick it up this afternoon. This is too good to be true. I'm not going to pass up the 7 pro and this price to get the 7t later this week.
Guys, all the details are now revealed of OnePlus 7T (check XDA site for all details). What do you guys think now of custom ROM support for 7T? Will it end up with low development like OnePlus 7?

You could run Magisk ROMs like xXx on the all variants down to the 5. That will likely continue as the 7T are just upgraded versions of the 7 and 6T. You may just have to look in the other forums. If you're looking for a full ROM, that may be a different story.
I'm jumping and putting my 7 Pro up for sale next month. Hate the curved screen. Every time I use it and it does something weird, I keep thinking back to the old Apple idiocy of "you're holding it wrong."

Question Pixel 6 pro best rom?

hello I have a request, what is the best rom for pixel 6 pro which has no google services but has all the unique features of pixel from the original rom ? Best regards

Can't have all unique features from a Pixel without any Google Services.
Or maybe microG is enough ?

No. All the Pixel features are tied to the proprietary versions of Gapps, not even MicroG will achieve what you're looking for, it's worth have no Pixel features yet no Gapps at the same time, or Pixel features, but have most of the Gapps, there's no other combination of those 2 is possible.
What features will I lose by installing a custom rom?
Pretty much everything that makes a Pixel a Pixel. Even roms that try to preserve features feel kind of half-assed or have security-minded priorities that prevent Google functions altogether.
Stick with stock.

Not everything. The key features that make a pixel a pixel are;
- unlocked bootloader,
- upstream (AOSP) support.

ScorpionRom not available on Pixel 6 pro so it should not be listed in the subject line
Actually I know of a Feb build of Scorpion Rom that exists for P6P. If you're in the right TG groups you'll trip over many things. I'm not sure if it's official or not. It's been a minute since I saw the link
ProtonAOSP and Kirisakura Kernal are the fastest I've ever felt a phone no joke.
Even with a bunch of magisk modules AND Xposed modules, usually any android phone I've customized to this points starts at least micro jittering.
