quesions on upgrading AT&T ZForce2 - Moto Z2 Force Questions & Answers

I have an AT&T model I'd like to get on 8.x. I'm not on AT&T but on a regional gsm carrier in Arizona. I'd love a stock rom that doesn't have any AT&T customizations but the bootloader looks to be an issue. Is there a 8.x official rom or other way to upgrade phone?
Thanks

not as of yet i get my replacement unit today in the mail and will post with an update it i can flash the retail version over to my at&t moto z2

Any luck?

Bumping this thread, would love to see if any progress has been made here.

Any update if you can flash retail OREO on AT&T version?

i bricked out my AT&T device trying to get it to change the CID to a tmo cid and in the process killed the device since i have had it replaced and I am trying again just hope it works this time

Just bought an at&t 64gb note 5 here in the UK, lovely phone, just reading that at&t won't be updating to Android 7, but the Asian Australian etc versions will be getting it early in the new year. Have I got this all wrong or can I flash another rom...cheers

Sadly, No
AT&T use locked bootloader which means you can only flash official AT&T signed firmware
Also there's currently no way to flash custom ROM on the AT&T Note 5 so you (we) are at the mercy of AT&T
The only hope is one of the senior XDA developers finds a way to unlock the bootloader then we will be able to flash custom ROMs and get Nougat 7.x that way
Thanks for the reply, I'm happy to wait, I know the Asian versions of the note 5 are getting the android 7 nougat update this December, my question is Will the at&t ever get the update

Is v2 bootloader now available for firmware on g960u1 Galaxy S9 phones?

I have an unlocked S9 (G960U1), and recently downgraded to the Verizon Rom G960U so I can get carrier features like wifi calling and Video Voice. Now I am planning on using another carrier, but I want to return to the unlocked firmware. Can I do this now? I read an older thread saying that it wasn't possible until Samsung came with a v2 bootloader version of their unlocked firmware.
omg someone please reply to above question im in the same boat

New to Oneplus

Hello, I am soon to be new to the one plus scene, and had a few questions.
I got the factory unlocked 7t and plan on using it on tmobile. Am I going to have rcs messaging? Will it be limited in any way? Also I have read that you can flash to international from tmobile but can you go the other way? And final question going either way does it require root or anything or because they are stock images they work fine?
From what I can tell from where I purchased it says HD1907 which is the tmobile variant(or should be?) Listing and reviews say confirm getting the HD1907, and its factory unlocked without branding. Can it be branded? And I should be fine and able to go to international/de-brand if I decide to later?
Welcome to the OnePlus 7T, it's a great phone!
I suggest reading through this guide to flash from T-Mobile to Global: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7t/how-to/guide-t-mobile-brand-conversion-to-t4019495
It will walk you through the entire process of flashing your phone and (if needed) rooting it as well.
Personally, I'm a big fan of the All-in-One Tool found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7t/how-to/tool-tool-one-driversunlocktwrpfactory-t4103515
It does just about everything you could need in terms of flashing, rooting, returning to stock, etc.
No matter which guide you choose, both forums are very active and should be able to help you if you run into any issues.
In regards to the RCS messaging, you should be fine but don't hold me to that. I typically use Google Voice but I know that Google Messages supports RCS on T-Mobile.

First thanks for the quick response, as a past dev im familiar with xda and have been looking through the 7t section including those and im starting to getting familiar. Thanks for the recommend!
I suppose the question I still don't get is the listing is for a tmobile unbranded so does that mean its on global or not? is it on us, not global, but just not branded but other wise 99% similar to branded just lacks carrier apps? Is there a step in between carrier branded and global? Does tmobile varient + unbranded just means it has the straight from OP firmware? If thats the case does that mean it can accept the tmobile branded firmware? I know everyone is like go global it seems but just for the sake of understanding I want to know since its tmobile varient hardware can it go back from OP updates(if thats what its on) to tmobile? and still be bootloader locked?
seems like there is several steps
carrier branded > carrier unbranded(straight from OP?) > global
However the update on OP's site doesn't list a different global download? How do global users get the update? or am i missing that theres a us site section and a non us site section?
There are a few definite ways to find out:
Model Number: the T-Mobile version is HD1907. I have the International version (HD1905) which has dual sim slots (the T-Mobile version only has 1 sim slot available)
Is there a T-Mobile splash-screen
Are there any T-Mobile (pre-installed) apps
If you have the T-Mobile version, it will never have the original OP software unless you flash the International ROM.
It sounds to me like it's a T-Mobile version (HD1907) that's been unlocked and (probably) flashed to the International (global) ROM (which will get you the official OnePlus software as it comes without the T-Mobile carrier bloat, which is really pretty minimal. I think it was 2 apps when I had the T-Mobile OnePlus 6T).
If you decide to re-lock the bootloader, I'm almost 100% sure that you must be back on the original software that the phone shipped with. So if it's a T-Mobile version, you must flash the T-Mobile ROM before you re-lock the bootloader.
No matter which software you have, it's really pretty easy to go from one to the other, especially with the All-in-One tool.
Personally, I prefer the International ROM (or their Beta Channel) because of faster security updates.

There are essentially 3 ROMs direct from OnePlus that you could flash (aside from the T-Mobile version)
HD65AA Global (which is one I would recommend)
HD65AA India
HD65BA Europe
All of which are found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7t/how-to/oneplus-7t-repo-oxygen-os-builds-t3997037

So as long as it is infact a HD1907 I can use the builds here to go back to this models stock and then bootloader lock? would this be the best way to do so?
Edit: so the about info says HD1907 it didn't say tmobile when i started it the sim tray hold 1 sim. (just arrived) so I should be able to put it back on tmobile branded and lock the bootloader yes? I didn't actually confirm that its bootloader unlocked but im assuming since about info says its tmobile but appears to not be tmobile branded.(unlocked bootloader is only way that could all be true) The packaging was all completely sealed which is why im just a bit confused still as how it can be a tmobile variant but not be tmobile branded but also not modified outside of the factory?
so it looks like its 10.0.10.HD65AA rom, model HD1907, device state locked. so to go back to tmobile stock would I have to unlock? then do something like in this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7t/how-to/op7t-t-mobile-unbrick-tool-to-restore-t4004005 ?

Glad to hear it went well. Aside from a more recent security update, I don't know if you'll see any difference between the T-Mobile ROM and the International (global) ROM so enjoy it.
I know some folks wish there was more development for the OP7T but it's really pretty solid. Oxygen OS is smooth and Android 11 should be available for it by the end of the year. That being said, I'd love to see how the Paranoid Android ROM runs on this device! Hopefully that'll come soon.

Updating an SM-N975F/DS in Canada

So please forgive me if this has been answered before, but I have not been able to zero in on an answer to my problem by searching the forums.
I recently bought an international SM-N975F/DS that I bought through a reseller in Canada. The home region is Vietnam. I am using SIMs from Telus and Roger's. This is my first international version of a phone that I have owned.
I would like to upgrade to the latest firmware but the phone is telling me that I am up to date. I'm happy to wait for the the regional update, but i am not sure it will be triggered while I use the phone in Canada.
I am open to flashing another version of the firmware in order to get the update, but I am confused as to what version to use. Since the dual sim version of the phone was never released in Canada, I'm not sure what version of the firmware I should download.
Also, if I am able to switch the region to one where Samsung Pay will work in Canada, I would love to do that. I'm not sure which country version will work here.
And my final question.... if I do flash a different region will it update manually or will I have to download and flash each new software update and security patch?
Thanks for any help you can offer.
I believe you need to figure out which sm-n975F receives the fastest updates and then flash to that specific region .

Tmobile S20+ with VZW Android 12 ROM??

I'm sure it's been asked already but I can't find any threads on it.
Seems like every carrier is getting Android 12 on the S20 line EXCEPT T-mobile.
I have an s20+ that is still under contract and carrier locked.
Is there any way to use the VZW firmware on it? Co-worker has same phone on VZW and has same FW version base (G986USQS2).
His full version is G986USQS2EVA4 which is android 12. My current firmware is G986USQS2DUJ7 which is obviously android 11.
Can I download and flash the files from VZW from samfw.com? Would I need to change CSC?
Or could I just pop in a VZW Sim (even though it's locked to TMO) and it would just download the FW?
Thanks for any help.. It's REALLY frustrating that even Xfinity and comcast are getting it already but not Tmobile............
There is a REASON I bought a flagship from a major carrier.. Updates... But seems like tmobile is in last place to get it figured out.
