How to install SM-T820 Tweaked with Magisk - Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Themes, Apps, and Mods

The Tweaked ROM has much better performance (I saw +30% boost), but comes with SuperSU. For those who prefer Magisk, here's how to swap:
1. Extract boot.img from the ROM (SM+T820+ARA2+TWEAKED+2.0+by+rorymc928)
2. Run a complete backup
3. Boot into recovery
4. Wipe data, dalvik and cache (factory reset)
5. Install the ROM
6. Now you have a working device with SuperSU. To replace it with Magisk, read on.
7. Boot into recovery and install boot.img
8. From recovery, install Magisk
9. Wipe cache
10. Reboot!
After installing the tweaked ROM (and adding Magisk), I see more than 30% boost in performance.
AnTuTu average with stock = 117767
AnTuTu average with tweaked ROM = 155080.5
Improvement = 32%

ClockworkMod or Amon Ra?

I am at a loss about which recovery I should use. I am currently using ClockworkMod for the time being simply for the advanced feature of being able to recover individual nandroid "categories" (for example, data). However, I have heard that ClockworkMod does not delete dalvik cache properly.
While Amon Ra deletes dalvik cache properly, does it offer the individual "category" restore that ClockworkMod does?
I am asking because I would love to be able to remove some steps when I flash a new ROM:
1. I do a nandroid backup with ClockworkMod.
2. Reboot phone.
3. Use the program ROM Manager to flash Amon Ra.
4. Boot into recovery.
5. Perform a wipe of the phone.
6. Clear cache and dalvik cache.
7. Reboot.
8. Allow phone to "settle down".
9. Reboot into recovery.
10. Clear cache and dalvik cache.
11. Flash ROM.
12. Reboot.
13. Allow phone to "settle down".
14. Reboot into recovery.
15. Clear cache and dalvik cache.
16. Flash the kernal I use.
17. Reboot.
18. Allow phone to "settle down".
19. Configure Android Marketplace.
20. Download ROM Manager.
21. Reflash ClockworkMod.
22. Reboot to recovery.
23. Use advanced option to restore data.
24. Reboot.
*whew* Average time for this, roughly 45 minutes to an hour (if everything goes well).

amon ra does all of this as well and does a much better job of it too. i never understood why people use rom manager anyway. i guess for an extremely small convenience. it takes about 5 mins to flash a rom after downloading it and placing it on your sdcard with amon ra
I prefer Amon Ra, but I haven't had the same issues with Clockworkmod recovery either...it's just a preference.
For wiping I don't use the recoveries to wipe, I use the format ALL zip from Calkulin.

Wow that sure is alot of steps. I use clockwork mod, and Have nowhere near as many steps as that, lemme break down what I do.
1. Perform Nandroid of my current rom
2. Flash Calkulin's Format all script found in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=785271)
3. Flash my new Rom
4. Reboot
5. enjoy my new rom.
That should shave off 20 steps, and about 30-35 minutes in your flashing time.
Using RA 2.2.1
Mucho preferred.

Flashing Treble ROM over Xiaomi.eu and bootloop to recovery

Hello, I wanted to try PixelExperience 8.1 from AndyYan and after flash, every time I tried to reboot to system, it keep booting into twrp. I am at Xiaomi.eu Miui10 8.8.16, and this is what I did step by step :
1. wipe data, cache, dalvik (factory reset)
2. flash 8.4.19 global firmware
3. flash rom
4. reboot
I tried to wipe system + factory reset, and then proceed from step 2. with same effect. my twrp: 3.2.3-0. What do I did wrong?
You need a pc for transfert your backup and after to :
- format data
- wipe all
- reboot recovery
- copy your rom and flash
- reboot
And need the right recovery

Stuck in Twrp reboot loop

I recently installed twrp and for my moto g5 then I did format data later on went for reboot system then I found no os installed so I installed a custom Rom later rebooted the system then I got stuck in twrp loop. I went through all the solution but it did not work so please help. Thank you
If you're on stock rom you need to remove dm-verity for it to boot (read faqs on twrp thread!)
For custom rom flash it correctly
Wipe
Advanced wipe
Wipe system data cache
Install
Select rom zip
Select gapps zip
Select root zip (optional)
Wipe cache
Restart
What architecture rom and twrp are you using?

Instructions for keeping twrp and root after updating the UL USER rom:

1. Download resources:
a. Download the rom UL USER, leave it there and do nothing to it yet.
b. Download the twrp.zip file https://mega.nz/#!l8BXgaDL!Y1AH5TM9jKI5r6LtEKFN_4Po105glHNR602yVDipfF8 (if you still have twrp installed beforehand)
c. Magisk 20.0 https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/v20.0/Magisk-v20.0.zip
2. Proceed:
Do not update the UL USER rom from the device's interface (SYSTEM UI), power off, boot into TWRP. Select install zip in the following order:
a. Rom UL USER
b. Twrp.zip
c. Magisk v20.0 (or exit the main menu, select Advanced, install root also)
Done, exit the main menu select advanced wipe, wipe cache, dalvik.
Reboot the device.
Done.

This did not completely work for me going from .35 to .64. All the steps completed successfully but when I rebooted the phone, Magisk was not installed so I didn't have root. I was able to then boot to TWRP and successfully install Magisk, but I don't know why it didn't work the first time. Anyone else try this? Did it work as intended for you?
One other thing I noticed - TWRP no longer has an option to wipe the cache under wipe > advanced, only for Dalvik/ART cache. Why?
Wish I would have tried this before i updated and lost root, i flashed a root boot.img with fastboot now im bricked and don't know what to do.
EDIT: got twrp did a factory reset and im in now.
