[BootAnimation] Android P - Pixel&Pixel XL (2) Stock & Black - Google Pixel Themes, Apps, and Mods

The boot animation between Pixel and Pixel 2 are identical so I will just label both phones to help people searching.
Download Pixel / Pixel 2 BLACK
Download Pixel / Pixel 2 STOCK
Download Pixel XL / Pixel 2 XL STOCK
Instructions: (same as forever)
1. Download bootanimation.zip of your choice, into SD Card.
2. Move zip to /system/media/ and overwrite existing bootanimation.zip
3. Change permissions for the .zip file to 0644 (rw- r-- r--)
Optional 4. Reboot(not something I need to say lol)
*PS: The stock bootanimations were extracted from the P image. But the animation itself is still the same as Oreo. Nothing has changed from what I could see.

Will you have a black version for the XL?

Don't forget to rename the ZIP file to bootanimation.zip
Don't forget to rename the ZIP file to bootanimation.zip

Waiting for the dark animation for XL and 2XL

Is there a way to flash black google logo while initial boot before system? I have found some threads before, which were actually useless.

Nice You can do it safely with FX File Explorer by the way
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.fx&rdid=nextapp.fx
permission was already 644 not needet to change it.

i have problem after i move the zip to /system/media its end with 0 bytes ...

[Boot Animation] [TW] [SAMSUNG] Change Boot Animation and Sound

Hi, Many of you curious about changing boot animation in samsung mobile. You know samsung uses qmg like boot animations. So it is complex to create own boot animation than creating zip boot animation. In this tutorial I have replaced the qmg files with zip boot animations.
I have tested on my Samsung Galaxy Core Prime. It should work on any Samsung Kitkat Variants mobile. Please test and report here.
Please make a NANDROID BACKUP before modifying the system files
For that just download the files from here and place it right folder and set the PERMISSIONS.
1. Place this file in system/bin folder and set the permission -rwxr-xr-x (See other files permissions system/bin folder)
Please note it disables qmg boot animations and enable zip boot animations.
2. Download the bootanimation.zip and place it system/media folder and set the permission -rw-r--r-- (see other files permissions in system/media folder)
Or you can download any custom zip boot animations. Just google and download and place them in right place
3. To change boot sound just create a ogg file naming PowerOn.ogg (don't much than 20s) and place it in system/media/audio/ui and set permissions -rw-r--r-- (see other files' permission in the same folder)
To disable boot sound rename the PowerOn.ogg file as you wish like PowerOn.ogg.bak
Here the screen shots for the permissions

Pls note. In samsung zip animations are not supported. They are placed in system/media in the name of samsungboot.qmg blah blah. If you want to replaced the qmg bootanimation with zip bootanimation you have to read the whole the thread pls. Again. I am busy in studies now. So I can not make a video for you. Anyway In this thread just change your bootanimation with custom zip animation.
If you want to change bootanimation (qmg format) (mine trick is zip bootanimation on samsung device which is easy to create). Follow this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2611682
Hope u understand qmg & zip like bootanimations

Backup - just copy your current/default boot animation that is located on /system/media to any location in your SD card.
Permission - After copying over your boot animation hold all of the files and and tap on permission and tick them like this
rwx rw- rw- or 766. If you find it confusing just look at the screenshot below.

[MAGISK][MOD]Custom Boot animation and Fonts

Hello,
Here is a quick guide on how to replace the boot animation and system font on oos 10.0 (Android Q).
ROOT is required.
Boot animation:
1. Download the attached zip and extract it.
2. Download a custom boot animation of your choice (XDA Boot animations collection).
3. Rename the downloaded boot animation file to "bootanimation.zip" and copy it to "BootAndFont > system > media > bootanimation.zip".
You can skip now if you don't want custom font.
If you don't want to change Fonts, just delete the "fonts" directory.
4. Download custom fonts of your choice.
5. Rename the fonts to their relatives in the "BootAndFont > system > fonts " directory.
6. After everything is in place, using root explorer (such as ES File Explorer) move both "BootAndFont" and "module.prop" into the device to the following location
"/data/adb/modules/"
(You can see the final result in the attached images.)
7. Go to Magisk, refresh the modules and make sure that the new module is now on the last.
Reboot the device and everything should work!
*Tested on OP7T, Should work on every OOS 10.
*Current Font is Germania-one, you can leave it as-is if you want.
Feel free to ask questions.

What happens if i have a separate font module? Will that get overwritten even if i delete the font folder?
Can confirm this works! I'm running OP7TP5G (TMobile) running the latest Magisk.
If anyone is unclear of the directions, once you bring the custom boot animation zip in the BootandFont folder, you have to just simply take the BootandFont folder and move it to the location OP mentions. Go into Magisk and confirm, once you are done reboot and you should have the new bootanimation (and or font)
This method is better than the other bootanimation thread on this forum as this does not require you to flash in Magisk nor worry about the permission write error you will get. Much appreciated it hella weird too because I was up all night trying to figure this out and then you come up with this guide ???

If you are removing the "fonts" folder, then it will not overwrite your current font.

Hi,
You are correct, on part 6, I wrote by mistake to move the bootandfont.zip instead of moving the directory only.
To apply your custom font, first, you need to understand that in different scenarios different fonts are used.
for example when tinted or Bold.
if you have a tinted version of your font should replace it according to the font name.
if you have just 1 version of your font, you can duplicate your font file and rename the copies with every one of the "Roboto" file.
You can see in the attached photo that all of the files are the same. (They are all GermaniaOne that was renamed to what the system is looking for).
I hope it works for you, please contact me if you still have troubles

I've got same question here. When i'll have a free moment i'll try to flash this module with ui sounds.
EDIT: nope. There's something wrong with product mount, it's not working
@yaaria thank you for the guide, I installed animation etc. I downloaded font : roboto.medium.ttf
How select the font? must rename the roboto.medium.ttf, to Germaniaone.ttf ? and delete the ( first) Germaniaone.ttf?
Will this mod (font change attribute) work on stock AOSP ROM?
Nevertheless thanks for contribution.
Edit - Never mind it worked flawlessly.... Thanks for awesome tweak.
OMG Thank You! This is so awesome! I was looking for a way to change both of these and you killed 2 birds with one module. At first it didn't work but I then realized that the BootandFont folder was inside another BootandFont folder somehow, all I did was copy the folder containing the module.prop and system folder to the adb modules folder and deleted the duplicate folder it was in but the fonts didn't work. Then I realized I needed to copy the font I wanted running on My phone 18 times and rename them to all those roboto files, so the system loads the file but gets a different font! I now have the glitchy Cyberpunk 2077 Oni/Samurai mask boot image and the OCR-A font running flawlessly on My OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren. You're awesome!
hey when i try to replace the stock animation it keep saying "the read only file error cannot change" stuff what should i do now ??
Why wont this work on OOS 11?
