I use the search system and have tried this solution, but it didn't work. I have a 4 GB SD card and I am running Jankarutu's XE ROM and I would like to be able to partition the SD card equally so I can put 2 GB on my internal memory and use the other 2 GB for storage. Can someone please help me out? I only have 30 MB left, and that's after using Link2SD and linking all my apps.
hello .. have you changed your kernel? if I'm not mistaken you need a compatible kernel ..... I have done my personal rom with sd of course support system .. a factory reset wipe, wipe a Dalvik, and then wipe cache .. I install the custom ROM, I did another wipe and wipe Dalvik cache without restarting I flash the kernel and it's good I have 130 MB of free once a reboot is but I use it just may be a2sdgui of ..
the swap would not apparently enough relative to the wear on the SD card to be seen as
Thanks for the reply. I actually found a different guide that tells you how to trick your phone into thinking the external is really internal memory by replacing the void.fstab file? in the /system/etc directory and it worked. I am going to buy a 32 gb card and do it

can you please share the thread were you find the tutorial.
Thank you in advance.
Is there any reason why link2sd is not workable on s-on device? Is it a ROM problem or is it a security r/w problem?
If it is ROM problem, is it possible to modified the official ROM a little bit so as it could support link2sd whilst still be flashed via Official RUU?
Can't be done with S-ON. You need S-OFF, root, and a custom ROM that supports it.
By default the XE rom has data2sd script built in. You have to partition half of your SD card as ext 4, then wipe your caches and you should boot with 2 gb internal memory...however I think that is the maximum amount capable on this rom.
Props to Jikantaru, alquez, methadron, and to all the other up and coming chefs, you guys made this phone pimp!

It is. I tried partitioning 9 GB and it got stuck on the HTC boot-loop. Going to try an unlimited memory ROM and see if it works If not, I'm perfectly fine with 2 GB of internal memory, but would be nice to get least 8 or 9 as I bought a 16 GB card for that purpose
Also, to the user asking for the tutorial, here is the link
Someone swapped the internal memory of their Galaxy with their sd card:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088474
Is this possible with the WFS? The Galaxy has two internal memory partitions: an internal phone memory and an internal "sd" memory. The hack worked bc they were able to swap the internal sd memory with external sd memory.
Is the internal memory of the WFS partitioned like this? Will this trick work? I'm really in need of more memory, even with link2sd. I can't use jikantura's rom bc I have a cdma phone...

One thing you can do is with Titanium backup pro, melt some of the bloatware out of the system/apps area and integrate sys d-cache files into the ROM.
With the stock 2.35 I was able to free up 35 MB of ROM memory and integrate 24 MB of sys d-cache into the rom. Along with integrating updates for facebook, maps etc, I am running with over 400 mb of programs on the Ext2 partition and all their data internal with 65 mb internal still free for data and quickstart apps.
Worth a shot.
guys ive never pationed my sd card before so have a couple of questions for the ones who have done this before .my TOAL SPACE READS 7.5GB AVAILABLE SPACE 347 MB THATS FOR STORAGE NOW INTERNAL STORAGE AVAILABLE SPACE 80MB IS IT TIME TO PARTITION OR CAN I STILL DLOAD AND HAVE FUN WITH THIS BEFORE I DECIDE TO PARTITION MY SD CARD AND ADVICE AND TIPS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATE IT
I honestly can't imagine running any Rom without dta2sd. I have too many apps and it works great and is baked into most newer sense roms. I see no reason not to, personally
what is dta2SD? and my wuestion was if based on my storage space and internal space if it would be time to partition my sd card ? i dont care to much about apps i can just download them again lol
Hi everyone, I'm new to these forums so please go easy. I'm not even sure if this is the right place to post about the n7102 because there's no section for this phone.
Basically, my problem is that I've recently run out of space on n7102. I cannot download more apps from the Google Play Store. I have tried using Lucky Patcher to remove bug fixes and also tried deleting dalvik-cache, but I think that fixes an entirely different problem.
My device has the following storage spaces:
Phone storage: 500mb
Internal storage: 2gb
External SD card: 16gb
For some reason, the phone writes to the external sd card where I store my media files. However, the internal storage is not even used at the moment. Right now, some apps are saved to the external sd card so my widgets take a while to load on startup. I think this might be because I wiped reformatted my internal memory card after i reformatted my external sd card through Settings > Apps.
I want to know if it is possible to:
1. repartition the phone storage (500mb) to include the unused 2 gb internal storage (total 2.5gb); or
2. swap these two partitions (phone storage 2 gb, internal storage 2.5gb)
I do not want to make a partition on my external sd card to extend my phone storage to use as data
I've looked on the web and this is what I have found:
- MT6577 2GB data repartition with int2ext: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914184
- Swapping internal and external sd card: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716166
- Mounting /data partition onto the internal storage space: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1648411
I've looked at a lot more pages concerning issues similar to this, but a lot of the time they use phone storage/internal storage/external sd storage, etc., interchangably. It can get quite confusing. I understand that android sees its internal storage and external storage space the same.
I've also read about the file "Mt657xRepartition_EN.rar" and wonder if it can be used on the n7102 without any problems.
Anyhow, thanks for reading this. If you can help, please do. I appreciate it. I only recently got this phone and have been tinkering with it the past few days. Before, I had been using an Xperia U that had 2 GB of phone storage vs the n7102's 500mb of phone storage so I have not run into this problem before.
Cheers.
[UPDATE] I am not sure but the two internal storage spaces may not be merged. I might have to try to use link2sd between these two for apps and save the external sd card for personal storage use.
Hi, how much internal storage is left for installing apps on the 32/128 GB version?
I installed a new rom recently, did a full flash as recommended and went from revolution os (which i think was android 8.1) and went to Revolution os with android 9
I have a 128 gb which i had set to be made as part of the internal storage when on the previous rom, does this encrypt it? because now on the new rom i seem to only have ~50GB storage,
Internal storage in settings shows 122.76gb available of 128gb total
But in the storage section itself it shows 32gb free of 128 and is showing system storage is using 74gb.
The phone should have 64gb internal storage and 128gb sd card combined...
why have i lost so much space, and why is the systme storage taking so much room?
Did you figure out what was going on?
