Dear friends,
I'm using Epic ROM MIUI 9 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-6/development/epic-rom-7-6-8-epic-team-mrraines-mi-6-t3619699).
Using Google Chrome, or Chromium, or any derivative of those (RSBrowser, YuBrowser, Chrome Canary/Beta, Brave and others), I'm getting the following "address bar bug":
http://en.miui.com/thread-1008044-1-1.html
as seen on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0E5l6PgYXQ
As from this reports, the bug doesn't seem to be neither Custom Rom, MIUI 9 nor Mi6 exclusive.
This bug happens 100% of the time on any Chrome/Chromium (original or derivative), and Microsoft Edge. I've tried a bunch of "flags" on Chrome browsers and nothing changed.
Is anyone able to use any Chrome based browser without that bug? How so??

Thank you for your reply!
I've tried installing the latest Chrome beta and SwiftKey, rebooting the phone, and the problem persists, as seen on the attached gif...
I'm thinking that should be a ROM related issue, or some obscure configuration I did. That's weird...
I've found the fix!!!
I had turned off the "Activate MIUI optimization" on Developer Options.
Turning it back again instantly fixed the issue!
This is entirely MIUI BUG. I had it even on my Mi5 (any miui based rom)

Hi,
Using Xiaomi MiMix2s with Glaxy Watch app Galaxy Wearable.
All functions in Galaxy Watch app works except weather location setting.
Weather / Settings gives me an error like "connection not successful".
Even use current location does not work.
Galaxy apps has connection, all internet access works on the phone.
Just bought the watch 3 days ago. So, it is pretty new.
Everything is under default setting and also did one software update when turned it on first time.
Any ideas ?
Thanks

Hi, I can't answer your question, but I wish to know how you got the Galaxy Wearable app, on your Xiaomi
Did you try turning on location in settings>connections?
Hi, any idea how to fix the problem with location in weather app?
I have mi9se Android 10 and have the same exact issue with weather app on gwa2.
All permissions for wearable app on a phone are on.
I have the same problem.
My smartphone is a Xiaomi Mi8
I have tried with several ROM's and with any AOSP ROM, it works correctly, but with a MIUI ROM, the same error appears as everyone.
It's reported to Samsung, but they haven't answered me yet.
If with an AOSP ROM it works and with MIUI it doesn't work, then the problem is in some incompatibility with MIUI.
The weather app on my watch gets all info from the weather app on my Samsung phone, which was pre- installed. I believe the app comes from The Weather Company. My guess is that you can add locations if you install that specific weather app on your phone.

I don't think it has anything to do with The Weather Company app.
I don't have any App of The Weather Company installed in AOSP and the location works the first time.
The problem is in MIUI. There must be some restriction and it is almost impossible to find out the cause of the problem.
In any case, I have sent the report to Samsung along with the fault log. Let's see if they answer me soon.

I can't get it to work. I have granted all permissions to the application and I have also activated all notifications, but still cannot find the current location.
It only happens with MIUI. I currently have xiaomi.eu
I have also tried other ROMs MIUI and exactly the same problem occurs.
However, with LineageOS, it works perfectly.
I have the same issue it was working in (K20 Pro stock ROM MIUI 11) but after I installed the EU MIUI 11 I got this issue

My solution has been to use LineageOS instead of MIUI.
With xiaomi.eu (weekly and stable) it does not work.
However, with MIUI Global it does work.
But I prefer LIneageOS.

No, I continue with the problem.
I have contacted Samsung, but they make me do many tests and do not solve anything.
Great! It seems that since the last two Xiaomi EU builds, it already works!
Running Android Q beta 4--
When trying to adjust notification priorities ('prioritized' or 'gentle'), it does not save the settings. Ever since beta 4, I'm not getting notified of any messages even if they're starred or 'prioritized'.
My notifications are working fine.
A bug came up in Beta 3 that prevents you from editing any of the settings for Messages, and apparently it's making it's way into non beta builds, too.

thank you it's quite annoying even though we're warned of bugs in beta builds. Maybe a factory reset will help.
When playing a song in Spotify and tapping on the 3 dots in the upper right corner, the screen dims a little bit and Spotify freezes. No probs like this with Mi Mix 2s and Redmi Note 4. Erased app data, uninstalled, re-installed - no changes.
Any ideas?
Same problem for me
Same here. Seems like this problem has been around for a while.

I have installed the Spotify desktop app on Windows 10 and I am doing all the management from there!
By the way, I have the Chinese rom (for now). Does it happen on the global rom also?

Just to let you know. I signed up for a Spotify Beta account, hoping the bug is fixed in the beta - but no...same problem
Hello,
Theres a workaround, tap the song/album you want, then go to the playlist and select "add song", then swipe right until you get the recently played pannel and add song/album to playlist....
MalG
Confirm I had the same problem with my unit, that is until I returned it due to the touchscreen issue mentioned in another thread.
Same issue, already posted on Spotify's forums and they didn't even acknowledged it.
Lots of people complaining yet the can't or refuse to do something about it...
Damn, just got the phone yesterday and I am having the same issue and was hoping someone may have found a solution. I wonder if it's to do with the new processor in this phone? I saw someone in a Spotify support forum (not an R8NPro user) saying they turned on OpenGL Rendering (although not sure how or where?) and that fixed it for them. Spotify presents one of my main use cases for the phone so this sucks. Anyone tried using an older version of the app?
On a related note (no pun intended!), I have always rooted my phones just so I could use Viper4Audio to eek out a better sound. I am using Bluetooth as my primary connection. Has anyone done any side by sides in terms of audio quality? If I don;t have to root then I won't as I think I read of some possible issues at present with this phone?
Thanks for any help!
Just got a new system update on my RN8Pro. Has anyone tried the current version of Spotify after this update to see if it works? I am using a very old version of the app which is working (albeit less featured) so am loathe to have to download all my playlists again to try it
Works for me now with MIUI 11. But I'm also using Spotify Beta and there was an update too. So I'm not sure why it's working again. Please try out folks
Works fine for me. Miui 11 and latest Spotify stable release.
Same problem for me
Miui 11 update fix many issues, like the Spotify bug !
Is there any word on the EU version of MiUI 12?
Yea
You have to wait
No, for RN8P is only Global Beta of MIUI 12. We must wait and be patient
don't wait...
I'm on MIUI 12 Global now & I regret my decision...
the OS is half-assed MIUI ever made...
dark mode is making many apps' UI broken, even their GetApps app is going crazy...
privacy notification is only for CHINA ROM, this Global got nothing like it...
plus they still with Google Dialer & SMS...
animation is great but 50% stuttering...
battery life is better than MIUI 11, this is the only thing they done right...

I will wait.
MIUI 11 - Android 10 version is the best as for now...
what Chrome bug?
About the Chrome bug: I'm on MIUI 12 and I've noticed that there's indeed a bug. For example, every time a website sends you a request to allow notifications. You can't press the Allow or Decline button. You can only press back to dismiss the message, but you can't select anything.
I personally find both performance and battery life to be less outstanding than in MIUI 11. MIUI 11 Android 10 had the Chrome bug too, 9 didn't. Xiaomi Firmware Updater classifies the latest few Begonia firmwares to be stable. I'm not sure what's going on either.

I had the same issue for a while with chrome. After some research online I found out that chrome on Android 10 blocks touches when website permissions are prompted that's because something or an application is being displayed on top of chrome in my case I had quick ball setting turned on, I had to go to settings and hide the quick ball when I'm on chrome.
ah yes it's indeed bcoz I'm using Quick Ball.. turning it off fixed the issue...
but for Dark Mode 2.0, oh God its really abomination compared to Dark Mode 1.0....

You can turn those off in Chrome settings so they never come up.
I'm using Pixel Extended ROM and every now and then I get notifications from Firefox says that a problem has occurred, and I then can't type in any fields on websites for logins etc. I have to force close the app and reopen it.
Does anyone else have this problem? I've reinstalled the app. Is it just my ROM, or an android 13 problem, or what? It's really starting to annoy me now
Bump. Forgot to mention that media in Firefox also won't play when this happens
I have the same problem. It's not a PEX problem because the same issues appears on CrDroid and Nameless too. It something with Firefox itself because on OOS Firefox works just fine.
So far I found no fix to that, I switched to another browser.
Yeah seeing the same issue here, currently on crDroid (latest build) myself
I've been doing my own builds of LOS20 and it affects me as well on 9 pro. It is not an issue on my 8T builds. I have tried with both 12 and 13 blobs and firmware. Most of the custom 13 roms are using 12 blobs still.
To gather some more information are all of you using models converted from TMO? Or did you start with EU/IN/GLO?

It'll continue to happen at random. I am also running Firefox beta for some time now.
EU LE2123 in my case. Glad to know it's not just me. I'm wondering if it's something to do with Firefox being used as the browser in other apps as well? I can't remember what that's called, like when an app shows a web page itself and it uses an existing browser without opening the full fat app. The only reason I suspect this is because sometimes swiping Firefox away from recents isn't enough to fix the problem, and I realise that Twitter for example also has a Firefox instance open. Closing the second app then resolved the problem
Has anyone come any closer to figuring this out? Or at least what triggers it?

I remember an issue like this long ago that was resolved by going to about:config and turning off hardware acceleration. About:config was removed from regular play store versions of firefox but I believe you can still get to it with Firefox Beta and nightlies.
If you suspect it has something to do with webviews, you may be able to disable something for webviews in about:config
There's also possibilities something within developer options of your phone could help fix this until it's resolved officially
try brave browser...

I think all of this could be related to Keystore. If your having these problems filling out passwords in certain applications like outlook, firefox, instagram etc. the kernel is probably your issue.
There's really only a few things an end user can do to solve the problem. Either reflash firmware or switch to a compatible kernel and hope the problem goes away.
I sure hope this helps!
brave browser is really becoming a viable option on android, been quite happy with it. We quit using ffox on android long time ago, got tired of the trouble and they have become political in the last 2-3 years as well. No longer trusted here.
My daily driver is LE2125 on LOS 19.1 currently, I am having other problems on LOS20 (cert store is unstable, it screws up all mail apps that read our client X509 certs used to authenticate to our mail servers - and we do not install a google apps/play services of any kind on ours so this is just LOS20/Android 13 issue, cant blame the google apps). I have a spare LE2125 I am running LOS20 on, brave is rock solid on that too, probably worth a try. just a suggestion.
It's binder driver screwed up in kernel. There are patches in testing which greatly improve the situation but it seems not fully fixed yet. See the LOS20 thread for more information. It's not a firefox bug, just firefox is one of the apps affected by it.
