Yeah. It's for all samsung devices.
In the guides section there's a guide for a3 and I tried that but it didn't work. Is there a guide for a5 2017 for the xposed module install?

Yes.easy with magisk 13.3
Xposed for stock Nougat 7.0 on A520F? Rooted with Magisk 13.3
Bumping this thread for xposed for stock nougat on A5.
Installing using magisk didn't work, but getting sdk 24 from the xda page and flashing it through TWRP does work!

Magisk
If stock you may need an old version but if you are rooting I assume you will be using a custom rom so just use the latest magisk

First rule you should learn on xda is the power of search
Google magisk & you will know
However I would recommend using a custom rom if you want to use features such as magisk hide to hide the fact you are rooted from apps that won't work if you are & magisk modules
Has anyone been successful in getting it to work on this this device?
I'm on at XT1922-5 retbr Running Pie.

I unfortunately couldn't. I get edXposed to install fine, even used some modules with no problems. But GB just refuses to work.

That's weird. I'm on aosp pie gsi and it works perfectly. What I did:
1. Flash latest riru core zip via magisk
2. Flash latest edexposed framework zip via magisk
3. Reboot
4. Install latest edexposed app
5. Install and enable latest gravitybox pie beta apk
6. Reboot and try tweaks!
That's all there is to it
