Hey guys,
my camera glass broke and I couldn't replace it immediately. That is why the the actual lens got dirty. I tried to clean it with alcohol and blasting it with air but that didn't help.
Any suggestions on how to clean it properly?
Kind regards,
Finn

Hi fellow XDAers.
I recently replaced my LG 980 screen. I used a kit that included the digitzer and pre-cut tape. It went well, I only had a spec or two of dust inside the glass.
About a month has passed and I have an issue. I was rubbing the screen against my shirt to quickly clean it, I look at it, and a TON of dust is now in between the LCD and glass. It seems that there is a small edge between the phone's side/rim panel and the front glass panel, creating a tiny tiny canyon for dust to build up. When I wiped I broke the tape seal?
I don't exactly know. I bought more tape on ebay, and I want to take it all apart, clean everything, and try again. Does anyone have any suggestions for this to not happen again? I can try to upload pictures to show what I mean later this evening. Thanks in advance! :good:
Get a "professional " to install it with a signed agreement that if dust appears they replace for free that's what I would do
2SHAYNEZ
I have a broken Rear camera glass.
It seems to me that i just have to replace the midframe, but where to buy one?
Wow how did you manage to do that?
It might have been borken from the factory it was droped once on the floor
The crack is just outside the linse area but I think its just a matter of time....
I think its got a lot of dust and dirt in it. I had a small lift on my speaker grill from day 1 of my purchase and didnt really care, but I think its been accumulating a lot of dust on my front facing camera. Its made it really blurry.
Does anyone know a way to clean the camera? I'm guessing the grill has to come off and then it'd be easy. But I don't know how to open to grill without damaging the phone or putting the grill back without making it even more loose than it should...
It's been found that our cameras have a thin film across them that becomes dirty and scratched and makes it blurry. I had this on both front and back. Solution I found is to put a drop of water very carefully on the camera lense and rub it with the corner of a credit card, just a little pressure will do it. I'll pull that film off and your camera will be as clear as the day you bought it. I haven't had any blurry issues since I did it about 8 months ago.
i had the same issue with the rear camera so i just used some glass cleaner and now the pictures come out nice and clear
Hi guys, has anyone in here changed their G4 camera lens. I mean just the lens, not the whole frame plus lens?
I got my lens, but realised that there was no frame included. Also i realized there is no video from popping the glass out. So does the lense pop out with preasure to the center of the frame? And how is it attached?
Sorry for nooby question...

Click to collapse
So here is how u do it, got some help in G4 google + group.
Give the old lens some heat. I used hair dryer to get bit of temp. Then u might wanna use a soft tool to press the old lens out from the center.
Cleaned the old frame->put some glue, really tiny amount to the ring, trying not to hit glue to the center->new lens in 2sec hold still
Then its done. Lets see how it sticks.
Edit: As the final result, i would say dont buy just the lens. Buy the whole part and change it...
I noticed there are small dust particles under the glass of the front camera. I have no idea how that got there. But I wonder if there's anyway I could remove them without taking the phone apart.
I have got some small dusts on the back camera but thank god it doesn't effect the quality.
I think you need to remove the front screen to remove the dust.
