There is a setting in do not disturb mode to allow alarms only, but alarm does not work even so. Alarm icon appears on the top tray, if I touch it, it comes to foreground and rings. I have to leave do not disturb mode to use alarm. Has anyone noticed this?

So I overslept today - no alarm. And it turned out that my new ONE X doesn't want to sound the alarm, when it is in flight (airplane) mode. This is the case not only with the stock alarm, but also with a couple of other alarm apps I've tried.
I prefer to go flight mode during the night, to make sure there are no random messages through any medium whatsoever. The option "also in silent mode" is ticked on, if this is of any consequence.
Is there anything one can do?
Also, alarm in the silent mode (even if the corresponding option is checked) doesn't produce sounds, only vibration. This is lame.
Yeah, and bump for the op.
Noone is bothered by that or noone else has that problem?
I use the HTC Dock App as my alarm clock, that works fine

just put mine in silent and set a test alarm, worked fine with sound - you sure your alarm volume is turned up?
Ok, i put my phone on silent mode from 2230hrs until 0700hrs every day. But some weeks i start work at 0530hrs and my alarm still sounds.
Sometimes i need to do a shift swap and forget to set my alarm but it is on my google calender.
Is there a way to play calendar alarms / event tones / notifications even when phone is in silent mode?
I have looked through the phone settings but thought i may have missed something.
I also use an app called Timeriffic which i find quite useful

Not sure if others have the same problem here.
I use the phone as alarm to wake up every morning. I dun use alarm clock.
Problem is that sometimes when the alarm rings and i snooze and ring and snooze which continues for 4 or 5 times. Then when I feel its time to wake up without the alarm ringing, I cant off the alarm!!
Usually when it rings, then u get the option to disable or snooze. Then sometimes during snooze usually if 1 time snooze, i get to drag the top bar down and have the options to disable the alarm when i want. But after it snooze for 4 to 5 times and before the next ring, i drag the top bar and the option to disable is gone. I tap on the alarm notification and it doesnt do ****...
I have to wait until it rings and then disable it.
How to disable it during snooze?
I also use the phone as alarm in the norning, and I'm also very lazy ib the morning, so I use to snooze the alarm several times. But I can always turn the alarm off, I got an option in the status bar to do that.

Got a little Problem. I added a show alarm function to my widget.
it simply shows a alarm icon and the time and those are set as following:
alarm icon(bitmap): [ox]$#SASET#=0?1000$[/ox]
the textmodule: $#SASET#>0?#SALARM#$
the problem is they disapper - but only after my phone was in the lockscreen once and not instantly when i disable the alarm.
Same happens if u enable a alarm - it shows up the first time after the phone was in the lockscreen.
is there any way to make this work perfectly?
Is there a way to set the alarm volume to a default level for all alarms? It seems like you have to adjust the volume every time you set an alarm.
I use I Can't Wake Up Alarm Clock which allows you to set the volume of each alarm individually. It also has many 'tasks' you can choose to complete in order to dismiss the alarm (which is why I downloaded it in the first place)
Unfortunately I hadn't been able to find a default setting either. I've used "I can't wake up! Free" for a while and there you can set the defaults for all new alarms.
