Bootloop, soft or hard? - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've got H815 stuck on LG logo. I've tried flashing stock fw, the I've tried the LG Bridge way, all of them completed but still stuck. Then I've tried the hard reset but no luck. Is this hardware issue then?

I've tried that already. Flashing goes well, but then it's still stuck on LG logo. Another thing, when I leave the phone without the battery for night, then in the morning it boots up up to optimizing apps, blue led flashes but then goes back bootloop. Some people here recommend lgup with different dll files and particular fw but I don't know if there's a point.

Yea I unbricked my bootlooped H815T with thiskdz give it a try..

I got this phone second hand and the guy said he was trying to downgrade fw, after which the bootloop happened. Is it possible that it's just the anti-rollback and not the faulty motherboard? How to make sure?
My phone is in the freezer now and we'll see how it goes...

Have you tried the 29a nougat beta? Sorry dude I've unbricked my G4 a lot of times with flashtool and lgup, but never had your encounter

I've just tried something that definitely prooves that's hardware issue. I've disabled big cores using that guide and phone works now. It's just single core though. You can make images to run on 4 cores but it's only temporary solution and I'm afraid the phone may die at any time. I think I'm gonna do the return but the guy is not really happy to do that.

Maybe try to unlock the bootloader and flash twrp. It's what I would do.
Best of luck

It is unlocked. I'm just gonna return the phone. Guy sold it as having a software issue, but disabling big cores proved it's an infamous LG ilapo. It can run on 4 cores, there are guides how to do it, but you can never be sure when it dies completely. Thanks for help anyway.

Hard Brick? Tell Me It Aint So!

Long story short -
Tmobile G4, tried to root it, bricked; authentication error #11.
Got it to boot up to the download mode, followed this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-lg-g4-stock-firmware-to-stock-kdz-t3107848); got the Sever Connection error, everyone said that was fine and to let it run... I did.
The LG tool got to 100%, the phone turned off and well... it's never turned back on.
Windows gives me a chime when I plug it in but nothing happens on the screen, I plug it into the outlet and it wont boot up, remove the battery just incase, still no dice.
Did I totally kill this phone?
EXACTLY what happened to me. I'll be following your thread!

This is a classic hardbrick. I am guessing you had 10n on phone and the kdz was for 10h. The downgrading of software is a nono on lg g4. At the moment, lg is the only 1 who can fix this.

So he just has to take it to the service centre and they will fix it ?

I downgraded from 10d to 10c without problems on an H815 after exFat support broke. What exactly is not downgradeable (system, recovery, boot, bootloader? My guess is the bl) and which variants can't be downgraded?
Nevermind, just found this -> [PSA] **WARNING** DO NOT TRY TO DOWNGRADE YOUR G4 BOOTSTACK (in USA at least)
@ThatsMajor I know it doesn't help, but for the future, make shure you do enough research. This could've been avoided.

HELP needed! G4 Bootloop!!

Hello guys!
It all started today in the morning when I opened Instagram application on my G4 (H815 model) and suddenly the phone froze. After 15 or 20 seconds it tried to reboot itself but it went straight into bootloop. It's not acctually a bootloop. It tries to go past loading screen and reboots another time and after that all I can see is LG logo.
I tried to enter recovery mode. No success. I tried updating/flashing KDZ file with LG Flash Tool and I got error everytime saying there was not enough information....
Last thing I tried was to boot into download mode. It shows Firmware Update screen but I don't thing ADB is working. I tried command adb devices and it found nothing.
I'm so desperate now as I need phone tomorrow. I hope it's not hard-bricked. Do any of you have idea what to do?
Any help apprechiated
TIA

lots of people report bottloops theres a thread and i said about 80% suffers from it.. its a hardware problem from lg .
thers the flash kdz to disable big core ,phone will be slow but usable.. and some have reported that warranty was denied and some had luck and phone was fixed give it a try..
because the first phone are suppose to be more likely to suffer from it.. so to know if its old earlier phone. or new one . that soeant suppose to happen anymore but it still does..

Thanks for the info. I checked serial number on the box and it says 507. I know a lot of 505 has this issue.
Do you have a link to that thread to disable main cores? I can still sell working phone rather than bricked
And I'm so pissed now because I didn't do anything wrong. Damn LG! Life's not good anymore!!
Is there possibility to flash KDZ with other program than LG flash tool? I can't get it working, it always says it couldn't find right information...

well only time will tell most will do .its just a matter of time.. since they are new and the ones getting bootloops are older.. so they say it takes about 8-9 months to show.. will need to wait and see. in 10 months from manufacturing date.
you cant tell wich one will but, LG says they fixed the issue in new phones..

yes it is its pretty easy... . file is big though... download kdz for you variant.. what android you are using.? MM or were you on stock LP.?
well i think since your phone is from 2015 august. that bootloop was supposed to be fixed by then. but newer phone are still getting hit by the bootloop.. but be aware unlocking the bootloader voids warranty.. some been lucky that phone were repaired some were denied repair..

NO ...... the only way for your phone to boot and gather all data is to flash a moddedKDZ.. but am not sure if it works on your variant..
if you have warranty send it back...but if they find out its unlocked they may deny repair.. you must pay for it...
this will make it boot but it will make it slow. as it disables the main cores...

It's bootloop issue,I think.i had bootloop issue,so this "flashing all kdz I can find for my phone" is what I did-and nothing helped, always never-ending boot or bootloop or nothing.Only way to make it work is,flash 5.1 kdz for your phone with LGUP(you need unlocked bootloader for this),and than flash "disable big cores on 5.1" file using LGUP.then it will boot. But it's still broken phone,TWRP won't work and custom roms/kernels won't work.

Impossible flash any rom

Hi All
After a bootloop experience and ILAPO fix I managed to start the g4 disabling 2 big cores recovered everything almost, then I made the mistake to update it again.
The phone is stuck again and when in download mode if I try to flash a rom it stops at 12% rebooting Always. I think some partitions are messed up, do you suggest to erase partitions and reflash them from backupped ones? If yes which command?
I thank you in advance for your superb availability and kindness , you are a north pole for this community.
My LG is a G4 H818p , the ilapo rom was 20e, then updated into 20h stock, no mod, no unlock tried, the phone is recognised by lg flash and salt.
Thanks to anyone can help and I know steadfasterx will be one of most thanked for his experience.
Cheers guys

1) so you were successful on flashing these files?
2) you may try the ILAPO fix list from my signature but there is not many hope for your device in the current state. doesn't hurt to try anyways though

I managed to flash the file you linked, the phone rebooted, for few secs I saw the little android robot and then nothing blue led indicator blinking as when it boots and lg logo...but not constantly autoreboot as usual.
Any other idea? What if I format partitions and after I use salt to flash the backup? Is it something possible?

you cannot fix the ILAPO with software. Flashing the ILAPO files is just to extend the life not to let it live forever.
I guess the time of your mainboard is over. buy a new one or send it to trash or (as said) try the ILAPO fixes like hand dryer, oven etc..
