has anyone tried updating oreo/emui 8.0 via firmware finder? - Honor 8 Pro Questions & Answers

hi all... has anyone tried updating their honor 8 pro/v9 to oreo/emui 8.0 through team mt's firmware finder? i tried updating through it, downloaded the whole 2.81GB but it didn't install by giving the error upon starting the installation "unauthorized package. it will delete now." (i don't remember the exact wording but it was somewhat same)
did i miss any step?

The updates being rolled out are bound to the IMEI of the devices and hence, will fail to install if downloaded through any other means except the official channel.

Hi I too did the same procedure but it just didn't work?
I don't know when we will get the update?

I've just been chatting with Honor. They told me that the rollout started on 7 Feb and will be rolled out in 4 phases. They expect all phones to be updated with 8 weeks of the starting date. I haven't received the update either. The update with Firmware Finder will not work. In another thread somebody reported bricking his device by trying to update with FF.

You can downlode the 3 firmware files (update,data_full_public,hw.(in for me) and try flashing twrp using DUK_FullOTA_ROM_flasher.

I did the update and it is working just fine. There is a video with instructions inside the app itself. Tap on the upper left corner and when the drop down menu appears select instructions.

I have tried many times using firmware finder but no success finally fully flashed

C675 is the India Cust firmware, u will not recive OTA to the phone if u live in Ireland, u must use a simcard from a India provider.
I would rebrand the phone to C432 Cust that is for Europe.
U can Google FunkyHuawei, it's a paid service but with that tool u can rebrand it to Europa Cust C432 and u will get OTA.
Or u can do it your self for free if u knowhow. U need to unlock bootloader and install TWRP, see link.

B377 for BLN-L21C432 (europe)

I just discovered the update in Firmware Finder dated july 31. My device is Bln-L21C432...
I'm downloading all 3 files right now. Installing biggest file is best ?
You´re right.
*#*#2846579#*#* and 3 hardware buttons combo do not see update.app in dload.
Strange; B151 did not have PV in filename either.
BLN-L21C432B360.
I just like security updates
Sorry, that I don' t understand.
Dload did not work for me.
B360
I tryed to Install the B364 on my BLN-21 with the Firmware Finder app.
But in the last step, after the download,it comes not certified.
But here they say, there is a new Update for Europe:
http://www.stechguide.com/honor-6x-b364-nougat-update/
"Must be on stock recovery" + "Flash with Twrp".
Strange info. Thanks for the link anyway.
What for Update is it,and when will we get it in Germany OTA?
In the Firmware Finder i can find it and download it,but i cant install it,because it says not compatible file.
And when i search OTA for an Update,i got the message no Update available.
Rommco05 said:
Just patience, over Firmware Finder can install only this update, which have -PV on name end. Just try to look older Nougat firmwares

Thanks a lot for your Help.
I looked in the Firmware Finder, and the Update is without PV ending.
Know i understand.
So i have to wait until the update is there with PV ending.
B365 is out now, only MF also, did anyone try to install this ? For some weird reason my BLN-L21C432 is still stuck on Marshmallow via official update.
But..... why ??? I want updates, now! It's just not fair
[serious] why is that russian site down ? http://hwmt.ru/oth/HWFF/info/view.php?find_model=
B366 OTA-MF is also available now, but... on official OTA updates I'm still stuck of B151.
Did anyone flash these MF firmwares?
Only 1 file of 129 mb. Say... uh ?

Contact Honor support, they may force update your device to nougat (they just need your phone's IMEI)
Got B365 tonight. Had to push the updater.
So now I'm on BLN-L21C432B365. Android updated untill august 1.

That's nice, thanks to this thread I've noticed the B365 update. It was strange since that system update kept saying to me that there was no update available when running it, while as i clicked on the 3 dots in the upper right corner I've noticed that the option "download latest update" was there anyway (where often it isn't there if there's nothing to download obviously). 2.45GB for latest security patch is a punch in the eye anyway :cyclops:

Don't think that it'll be possible to extract it now, i wanted to do that too when i went to Nougat from Marshmallow but after the update the system automatically erase the package.
off-topic: how do I change the topic line into: B365 for BLN-L21C432 (europe) ?
not possible ?

How Come there is no "Check for Update" etc. on my V9/Honor 8 Pro

I have a Honor V9 - DUK-AL20C00B191 and when I went into Settings -> About Phone I do not see a "check for update" button or anything of the sort. I know it is the Chinese Model, and I am in Canada, but that should not make a difference, right? I am still on the March 2017 Android Security patch and I would like to get some sort of update. I tried Firmware Finder and my phone is eligible for updates but they don't show up either using the Proxy setup in Firmware Finder.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Backup important stuff and format your phone and check whether issues are solved generally happens after major updates.
Give it couple of days to settle and check whether the issues still exists.
Really?

I Find This VERY Intresting...
Are you two saying... By installing this Beta Firmware it has "UNLOCKED" your bootloaders?
And now.. you are getting that warning message at every reboot??

I'm So Sorry To Hear That...
I'm glad I did not become a B-Tester.
I hope for the sake of Warranty or Selling it due to lack of Development.. That this issue corrects itself for you when the Completed Firmware rolls out later this year.
Good Luck!

Honor 7X EMUI 8 Oreo Download Link

Hi guys,
I'm using Honor 7x BND-AL10C675 (Indian). I wanted to get back to stock as emui 8 stable rolled out. I was running emui 8 beta and I was stuck so I flashed the stock recovery, re locked bootloader, and downloaded the EMUI 8 update.app file from "Huawei firmware finder". Now, I created the "dload" folder in sd card and pressing both volume buttons and power button, I tried to install the firmware.
It says "The update failed" at 5% and I tried it many times. Maybe it's a mismatch or incompatible. Now, I can't go back to my twrp backup as stock recovery was installed. I can't flash recovery or rom using fastboot as it requires unlocked bootloader. To unlock bootloader, I need to enable "OEM UNLOCK" in settings and I can't boot into system as everything is wiped when I relocked the bootloader. So I'm basically stuck.
The only things I can do now is to install the stock firmware using the dload method. However, I need the right update.app file so I can install using install the firmware. I can't use Nougat file as I guess we can't go back to Nougat from Oreo. So I need EMUI 8 firmware BND AL10C675.
I can't find it anywhere, so Could someone miraculously post a download link or the file here? What should I be doing?

Did you do this guide?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73954487&postcount=240
I followed all the steps and I guess it's more complicated for me. I was stuck with an older build number although I changed different ROMS. Maybe because of that the update doesn't authenticate and fails to install the firmware. I don't know but also it maybe that the firmware isn't for my exact model. I just don't know and my phone is as good as bricked and I"m taking it to service centre.
What's more hurting is that, I Locked myself out of all the options. I mean I have the bootloader unlock code, Twrp backup but I just went through a one way route so confidently that it would work and I locked bootloader, flashed stock recovery. It's such a shame that HUAWEI DOESN'T RELEASE THE STOCK FIRMWARE EVEN AFTER ALMOST 6 MONTHS OF THE HONOR 7X RELEASE. If they had the stock firmware available just like Xiaomi, I wouldn't have had all this trouble.
I don't know why no one raises the voice. I really hate Huawei for this and I'll make sure I won't recommend these phones to anyone.

Phone is sold as a scrap for 2000 RS (30$ approx) There was no way to revive it after losing that fastboot and getting that above said error state.

Am i the only one who hasn't got the oreo update yet?

Had this phone for a bit more than a week. only a small update came with security fixes. Everyone else on the planet seems to have gotten the Oreo update, at least that's what the internet tells me...

I suggest you to make a factory reset, then install Firmware Finder and search for full Ota version 8.0.0.330 or any who approve instalation.
Good luck!
