How to compile an abandoned module for newer SDKs? - Xposed Framework Development

There is a module which I really need for my device:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-disable-desk-dock-t2526496
It was originally developed for Jelly bean, but another user compiled it for both Lollipop and Marshmallow.
Now I have been trying to compile it for Xposed SDK 24 and 25, but with no luck. I have some developer skills and I have spent a lot of time reading all the Xposed documentation and experiment with modifying the module to work with Nougat.
Now my device is running 8.1 so an version that is working with SDK 27 would be the best.
I am not asking anyone to do all the work but some directions or info on how to do this project would be really appreciated. Thanks!

I've never developed a Module before but, I believe that one or both of the following threads may be helpful for what you are looking to do and don't be afraid to ask for some member guidance within one of them.

(WIP) ChamelonOS 4.4*

Optimus G Owners,
I am working on my first build from source. I noticed we didn't have an updated build of ChameleonOS 4.4 of this forum. I am fairly new to this and have a fully capable pc to build it from scratch. Problem is I need some help with building and some testers. So if your interested in a collaboration with this build please leave a comment or leave me a message.
I have in installed Python, Git and the Sdk and am working on Forks and Repos. If you know of any good sources or suggestion please feel free to leave the below .
Repo is in progress
should be a couple hours to finish downloading and about an hour to build will try first build on my phone to see if it boots. if so I will post a download link to try it out.

I'm up for testing. I use multiRom. That could either be a benefit to your testing or a downfall. I usually like to know and inform others that use Multi what any issues are.

Multi ROm? Yes, the app is not supported on our device, nor is the official recovery. If you are interested, I will link you to the xda thread.

Follow this and if you have any questions ask them in that thread. I will help if you need. Just don't want to clutter your thread with questions about that one.
nice i never knew that was there.

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Official LineageOS thread for your device (jfltexx).
Don't worry about the "I9505" in the title. The Lineage Developers had recently announced that the LineageOS is now a Unified Build with the jfltexx to include the "GT-I9505, GT-I9505G and SGH-M919" devices.

If needed, here's some other threads where you can refer to for this question is one of the following threads that is specific to your device.

I don't have this device but, at this point in time, the following Unofficial LineageOS thread for your device is the only one released.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3684398
I do know that the Lineage Team is working on an Official one but, they don't provide ETA's for any device releases.
You'll have to be patient... this device was released not too long ago and these developments take time for Official releases.
If you have any further questions, your best bet is to post that question within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device.

I have seen this already...but that build has some serious issue with phone call, Bluetooth, camera and some other things.
I don't like Samsung Experience at all.I searched for AOSP based custom roms for it, didn't find one.Actually this is my first samsung device i have used.
ow okay.....i will share over that thread!

secure boot problem

Im now using resurrection remix 6.0.0 on my oneplus 3 and i met the problem of not able to cancel secure boot which i already had when i was using line)age os 15.1.I have tried 'flaahing the rom again with data, cache, dalvik cache, system clear','reseting the pattern with "no" in secure boot choice(cantfind the option to turn off secure boot in security&fingerprint) (even if i chose "yes",the request of the original pattern still shows up)'.However I found the most effective way is to flash the oneplus original recovery through fastboot and choose the option 'forget password' when it request password in recovery mode to clear all 'things'(I dont know what things it have cleared)(the request of the pattern gone after that) and then install twrp recovery to flash rom.
What I want to ask is is there any easier way to cancel secure boot or is that really a bug of lineage os 15.1 or is that the problem of my device?
Sorry for poor English.

I'd probably just post the question within the 3rd Q&A link I had provided and state that your not sure if it's a Hardware or Firmware specific issue.
Also, try to provide specific information without too much overkill. There's members who looks like their writing a Novel LOL!.

Question Debating on unlocking my BL and flashing a custom kernel.

I've done this for years on a pixel phone and had no issues.
Can anyone break it down what needs to be done to unlock the bl, and flash a custom kernel?
I haven't contacted TMO yet to get it unlocked, but will once I have a better idea on how to do this.
Also, I'll be doing this via a Mac.

How I see it is , we're very fortunate to have a device where many skilled devs put their heart and soul into taking a pretty decent base and polishing and beautify the code and put the time and effort in seeing what makes for a better device not to mention additional features.
Then they share their work and findings with anyone interested in sharing the experience. I would highly recommend to give it a shot after studying what you need, and what you need if something goes wrong. Thankfully here on XDA is a wealth of info shared for how to go about what you are trying to do. I hope you enjoy, and good luck.

This x100. Albeit, as talented as a lot of devs are, there are features that are locked down by OP. I'm not aware of any custom roms that support warp charging, unless I'm mistaken.
