After much reading on LVM / Coldbird method, and many days of googling both and reading through different methods to unify the storage on a Find 7, I've found that a lot of the threads have no links to required files or have dead links.
With the loss of the OPPO Forums site, does anyone have a step-by-step for either method, along with all required files (other than preferred ROM)?
Thanks.

Unify using coloros. You should be able to download coloros from oppo community at http://community.oppo.com/id/forum.php?mod=oppo_viewthread&tid=5270.
You will have lvm. Then flash anyrom that supports lvm (omni).

Thanks to all. Now up and running with Nameless ROM. A bit disappointed with battery life on this phone though, but it appears to be a common problem.

I have the problem that the programm does not detect my phone (installed usb driver).
I skiped this step and used coloros 2.1.5 and it does not work ;(
Dou you have an idea what i can do ?
Thanks
I still love my Oppo find7a, although it's getting harder and harder to use it. (ColorOS version: V2.1.5i without unified storage)
I would like to use the coldbird method to unify the storage and then install LineageOs 16.
After many days of googling, I have not found any active link.
Does anyone still have a working link to download this partitiontool?
Does anyone still have this file on his own local PC?
I would also be willing to take care of a new possibility for hosting the file, if this file is made available to me.
I´m not sure which one you mean but i have also some lvm patches found on my harddrive. Sadly i doesn´t found the offical links anymore. Maybe the txt-File will help you found some sources for your questions, because i safed some links there which i used for customized my own oppo find 7.
Best wishes.

If your device resolution is 1440x2560, then it is an Oppo Find 7, not 7a.
My Find 7 also experience the same thing with all Cyanogenmod-Based ROMs because our device seem to have different LCD panels than those in the hands of Cyanogenmod developers, so everything that is based on CM will suffer the same fate.
The only custom rom that works (even better than color os, I should tell you) is OmniROM. Be sure to follow all their instructions before flashing.
I'm in the mood of a newer android phone no larger than 5.5" but OmniROM support list is very short. I appreciate it if anyone can recommend a 2016 android phone that can run OmniROM.

Working now....
Awesome! I'm trying
Ok so I tried this rom finally! Here's my feedback:
First of all I'm a bit confused why is this called cyanogenmod 14, because its not cm. It looks like the vanilla aosp from a one plus device or maybe nexus. It has no cm features.
Secondly like stated in the op this is indeed for chinese storage. I can confirm lvm does not work.
Stock gallery does not show all the picture folders. However quickpic from playstore works fine.
Music players can't detect songs on my sd card. But I can play them from file explorer.
I didn't test bluetooth for now.
Other than these things, this is really smooth and stable for an initial test build. So kudos to the dev for bringing N so quickly for our devices! You can use this as a daily driver

Looks like the Russian one is working for me, hopefully it doesn't stop mid download! Thanks for your help
Just to confirm process from RR with LVM would be;
1) Use tools to perform chinese unify (Should wipe entire device)
2) Flash TWRP
3) Flash the new CM14 Rom, gapps and all that good stuff
4) Profit???
Ok well I'm flashing the rom now and everything has gone through without issue! the tool only took about 2:50 for me.
For anyone trying to get English in twrp, second from bottom on the right and then select the globe icon at the top
Please, can someone explain the difference between chinese storage partition and LVM? Not technically, of course. I want to know about partitions and their sizes.
Thanks again.

From what I can tell the LVM method is a linux storage method that allows data to be stored in a varying sized partition by allowing on the fly resizing. The chinese method of dealing with the sotorage partition looks pretty much the same, if you look at the free app storage space it will be only around 100mb or less, but as you install more apps more space is allocated so it appears there is the entire device storage available.
I would assume the only difference would be in the way the Rom sees and interacts with the device storage. But on the most part there doesn't seem to be any real world issues, everything seems to work great and I wouldn't know it wasn't running on the LVM partition.
Hello,
I would like to ask some help with this ROM I still use since I have the phone for over 2 years.
Using 2.0.133 ST (I think Indian based on language options from settings, however the package was definitely Chinese - it was modified by seller) and would like to know how to update to 2.5 (android 7).
I have looked for guides but haven't been succesful so far since it's my first time doing this.
Could someone share a link with step-by-step guides how to use the programs to update firmware with links or guides to help?
Also any suggestion on which ROM to use for gaming and fast performance really ( but still able to use google and banking services ->need andro 7 though for some new software)
Thanks in advance!

Dear reader,
since a couple of days my device (samsung S7: SM-G930F) is running low on battery really quick. So I thought; it has been a while since my device asked me to update the new Lineage version. So I gave the app the instruction to look for updates, and it gave me the following notification.
Can't connect to download site. Please retry later.
When actually
You device is supported by the lineageOS team, but there are no versions that support this type of publication: Nightly. (this is translated from Dutch, so actual English sentece might be different).
Switching to Snapshot instead of Nightly in the Settings didn't help.
Then when searching again for updates it gave me the message:
No source file
Request for file: lineage-14.1-20181124-nightly-herolte-signed.zip To reconstruct the last update, the zip of the app should actually be installed. Do you want to select this file manually from storage, or download the last full zip-version?
When I press: download full zip-file it gives the following:
Error during implementation. Try to refresh.
When I click on select file (from storage), and select lineage-14.1-20180927-nightly-herolte-signed.zip, it gives me the message:
You should select the right source file. But I don't have that one on my storage; it's froma different date.
Can anyone help me please?
Kind regards,
Chris

S7 is no longer officially supported by lineageOS. You can search here in XDA for unofficial ROMs.
I have no big hope that a new ROM will really solve your battery issue. Most of the the success stories are a result of a clean ROM installation.

In addition to the outstanding information that @kurtn had provided...
There's no Official LineageOS Updater Apps on the Play Store.
The reason is that they have an implemented LineageOS Updater built into the Firmware and has no need to provide any such app separately from the firmware. That would just be counterproductive to the built in Updater.
The LineageOS Updater App(s) on the Play Store is via a 3rd party developer. I'm not stating that any/all of them are either good or bad but, individuals need to know that their Unofficial and is in no way supported by the Official Lineage Team Maintainers.
Just a few (so to speak) words of advice to keep in mind. I remember asking about them (quite a while ago) and those were the types of words/thoughts by @invisiblek and @haggertk (whose a part the Official Lineage Lead Maintainers).
No lectures here... Just some friendly information for you My Friend!
Good Luck!

Hi Kurt and Ibuprophen, thanks for your answers!
Now I have finally holiday and time to actually fix things it's time to continue this
So current situation;
Phone running out of battery within half a day without frequent using, apps crashing > update definitely required.
Phone model: Samsung S7 SM-930F
LineageOS version: 14.1-20181124-NIGHTLY-herolte (so last update is over a year old)
Android version 7.1.2
Options:
1. Just reset to factory settings? Most easy option, but I think it will have negative influence when I use the phone for another year?
2. I found this unoficcial ROM https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/beta-lineageos-16-0-s7-herolte-t3842465, however, it doesn't include instructions and it is very technical and it speaks of Android 9 as base, which I don't have; just 7.1.2. Would that be a problem?
3. Update to 15.1 instead if that is easier?
So what would be your advice? Please bear in mind that I am a technical noob and can only follow instructions that are extremely clear & correct
Until now I haven't found instructions I felt comfortable with unfortunately.
By the way my laptop has Linux Mint Cinnamon 19.2

Oh, looks like ivan does a good job. I think it is a good idea to install his rom.
But be aware: whatever it is, that eats your battery, it can come back.
Edit: be aware: from the threads it looks like 15.1 and 16.0 are not SELinux enforcing. So the gain of security is not as high as one would expect from security patch level. So you can try a factory reset of 14.1 as well.
Do you think there is an easy, technical-illiterates-friendly way to install this version of ivan? I am not that keen to have the highest possible security.
When I am emptying the phone anyway, it seems best to me to have the most recent version (if it doesn't matter that I have android 7.1 and not android 9).

I still love my Oppo find7a, although it's getting harder and harder to use it. (ColorOS version: V2.1.5i without unified storage)
I would like to use the coldbird method to unify the storage and then install LineageOs 16.
Step-by-step instructions for the coldbirth method can still be found. However, the links to the coldbird partitiontool are dead.
After many days of googling, I have not found any active link.
Does anyone still have a working link to download this partitiontool?
Does anyone still have this file on his own local PC? (This file was often called "partitiontool.zip").
I would also be willing to take care of a new possibility for hosting the file, if this file is made available to me.

Hey Bro.. regards from me here in Indonesia.. It's look like we both love the same phone.. but unfortunately I was also have similar condition with you when finding the coldbird method. I don't know if somewhere.. somehow.. someone out there still have all the files necessary regarding the coldbird method. luckly you have patience on the ColorOS version. Different with me which is finally I decide to try Chinnese method to make it unified and now my phone can be able to running LOS 16.0 even not that smooth but still using it as my daily driver recently. I hope you can get all the files soon if you still want to use coldbird method. and hopefully.. if you get it.. you can share it with me.. hehehe.. Good Luck Bro..
