Good for us looking for cases for day 1 protection just seen MobileDen and MobileFun have the FlexiShield cases in stock, guess if we are spending £500 at least we should give this baby some protection for now!
Both selling for £9.99 ex delivery.
that's sweet!
this is what i like about the Galaxy S line
accessories always are out before the device is even on the street
How is this a TPU case?
Just recently heard about these, so I don't know much about them, but it doesn't seem like this is a TPU case.
it sure looks like one, TPU is a kind of polyurethane plastics which holds up great not like the old silicone case which lost it's shape pretty quickly
Think a mod edited my original title! I've got a very similar case on my DHD got it from fleabay and they are very good!
yes i did
i'm using that exact same case on my Nexus S
better price in my opinion so i got my self two of each

Cheers will take a look at that they are usually nice without adding much thickness to the phone itself.

Thanks for the link I just bought the purple one from them as like a bit of colour and it's only £1.95 so can always get a different one if I don't like it lol
As for the case in the OP it's already had a negative review for being too slippery so I hope this one isn't the same. I'm a Capdase user for my HD2 and was hoping there'd be one available for the SII but there's not just yet so this one will do till it becomes available. Thanks again.

Great news
So I thought I'd show you guys the new screen protector I bought from DX.com for the princely sum of $9.30
I've looked at buying a glas't and been put off by the price but this little beaut is less than $10!
I'm not going to post an in depth review, just lots of nice high res photos
Suffice to say I'm delighted with the result and inside my Poetic Atmosphere this is the prefect combination of slim protector with no compromise in clarity and finish on the screen.
The product packaging and presentation is professional albeit the translations are somewhat dubious :good:
All in my picasa web album at full res.

I haven't tried any other glass protectors but been through my fair share of ordinary ones, both expensive and 99p ones. I have to say the clarity is superb and I can live with the extra thickness.
For £5 you really cant go wrong, I've ordered a second as a spare

Hello, I want to order this too, but I'm a bit afraid that the 2 capacitive buttons on the screen won't work so good anymore.
Any problems occuring the responsiveness of the buttons?
These are brand new and I don't want to be the first to spend $30 bucks to be disappointed. Anyone try these yet and can vouch for their realistic look?

Please take pictures after you're done. Thanks in advance!
Edit:

Purchased!
Just arrived, here's photos.
I haven't installed it yet but I'm very glad I didn't pay full price for what I see so far. I've used skins before, but this one looks kinda cheap. It's a clever idea but in person, it looks like a sticker or decal and is super glossy and reflective, which eliminates any possibility of a realistic effect. I'll upload more once it's installed though and see if that changes my impression.
Edit:
The first photo is what you can expect if positioned toward a light source. Super reflective!
Thanks for the info and photos. Mine is on the way and ordered during 60% off which is on now by the way too.. Lol.
I'm just wondering if they have matte feel though for good grip or is it slippery.!
Thanks

It's not matte at all. 100% high gloss, like a professionally printed photo.
Damm.!
Anyways please upload photos once installation is done..
Thanks
By popular demand...
Still looks like a sticker, and not very realistic, but I'll put a clear case on it anyway. Maybe that will help.
Got mine this morning. Bit annoyed as they forgot to add back only as that's the one I intended to put on to have better grip from sides of the phone. Installed full skin. Came from dbrand matte skin so this is surely a different feel. Thought it would be slippery but instead it has bit of a grip some how. Looks good in person. Surely shiny and reflects light so not a very realistic look but if someone looks from far away it does look cool... Matte feel and less reflective would have been perfect but it ain't too bad at 60% price.

Yeah, it's very eye catching from a distance, but most people who notice it think it's a case design and not the actual phone internals.

This is the pixel 2 forum, but it probably looks the same.
I've always been a fan of the super slim, clear TPU cases for phones (like this one). I've had the most success with Spigen, but it doesn't appear they offer a slim, clear TPU option for the Pixel 5. The closest I could find was this: https://www.spigen.com/products/pixel-5-case-ultra-hybrid?variant=32618355163183
Any suggestions out there? Any clear cases you've liked on other devices that are available for the Pixel 5?
Also looking for a clear TPU case, but not seeing ANY cases available for the Pixel 5 beyond the overpriced Google fabric case. I've had good luck in the past with Ringke. I'm hoping to order one to have it prior to Pixel 5 delivery (Oct 30 - Nov 02)

Yeah, that's what I'm leaning toward too. You can buy them direct from Spigen right now for 20% off (coupon PXLPERFECT through October 7): https://www.spigen.com/products/pixel-5-case-ultra-hybrid
You just have to pick the "Crystal Clear" color option which looks blue to me.

Ah that's the clear Spigen case I want for my pixel 5 but in the UK I can't find it anywhere . Any ideas for any UK people?
For clear I've always used the Otterbox Symmetry. They do run $49.99 but they are supposedly in-stock at Otterbox.com.
I use the clear Spigen for the 3XL and it seems OK: it didn't turn yellow as badly as the cheaper cases on Amazon (those turned really yellow fairly fast on my older phones). After two years, it has a tinge of yellow. The case does show a bit of wear on the back now, probably from the hand sanitizer that didn't dry off well enough when I was using my phone. I don't mind since it serves it's purpose to protect my phone.

liquid protection
This is the best testing I found for liquid. In sum, the impact protection was pretty dramatically increased, but scratch and fingerprint resistance increases were negligible or zero. Placebo effect on me? Anyway, I may go with what the Tuber suggested and do liquid (one applicator can be used to protect several devices per the video) and a glass screen with liquid applied to the screen protector too. I have used glass from Zagg, AmFilm and Supershieldz for the 2XL. They all break or get lint and dog hair stuck in them eventually, and then they need to be replaced. Zagg is probably the strongest, but honestly, I replaced them all after 6 months anyway. Think I will just get a cheapie and liquid glass it.
Saw an Amazon review that pointed out there is a cutout or indentation along the top edge of the screen opening for the speaker (that doesn't exist on the phone)
Got this one from https://www.gadgetshieldz.com/
I opted for the full-back one along with camera and logo skins as well.
The final price came around Rs. 537 ($7) after some automatic coupon they applied.
The packaging is nice too, came with like 4 sets of logo cutouts and in total 3 pairs of camera cutout skins along with a decent microfiber cloth.
In my personal opinion the quality and the overall things they supplied make up the price but for some, it can feel a tad bit expensive.

No drop protection whatsoever but, if the back glass shatters, the skin will stop the shards going all over

I typically put a skin on my skin and then put a transparent back case on top of it. So that way best of both worlds.
Haven't bought any case for my 9 pro yet because I am waiting for the product reviews to populate, but yea skin and a transparent case is my goto.

Managed to get the dbrand (RED) Damascus skin while it was offered, got the Grip + skin too, the reduction in signal is nowhere near as bad as it was for Pixel/iPhone.

I heard the first gen metallic skins from dbrand used a metallic filler that interfered with the radios, I have the second gen dbrand warzone and reception appears to be the exact same.

That was primarily with iPhones and Pixel phones and only affected the wraparound skins, back only skins did not interfere
