Displex Touch Screen Polish

Went out for new years and I guess my phone was in the same pocket as my keys. Now it has slight scratches on the screen, not big ones at all and not really that noticeable. I was just wondering if anyone has ever used Displex DP098 Touch Screen Polish and how did it turn out. I really don't want to put an a screen cover but I might have to if this doesn't work.

Displex® Touch Screen Polish Review in HD
Edit: I just went ahead and bought it. Ill try to do a before and after.
I would just apply a decent screen protector. It should fill the scratches and help prevent new ones. I wouldnt apply a polish on a coated screen such as this one. Also the reviews on amazon do not look promising.
Don't do it bud. I once scratched my plasma moving house and used something similar to try and polish it out.
Turns out that the screen had some kind of anti-glare protection so all I did was make a huge shiny spot on the screen half the size of my palm.. it's all I could see for 12 months before selling it.
The screen on the GN really is rubbish and is very easily scratched.
I'd await for a more knowlegable reply before diving in.
Edit: As per the above poster the XOSkins are applied with fluid and claim that it will indeed fill small scratches.
I'm also intrested in this product. The screen on my gnexus has an almost invisible scratch in the screen, and while I was searching for a screen protector to avoid future damages, I found displex. The reviews online seem contradictory, and I suppose this depends a lot on the material the screen is made of. So when your displex arrive, please let us(me...) know if it did work or not....
OT: this gnexus is really easy to scratch isn't it?

lol I had a Galaxy S2 and iPhone 4 screen scratch, they must also be rubbish.
I don't think its the actual glass scratching, but rather the oleophobic coating. It doesn't need to be from Corning to the strong.
Don't do it !! It makes a huge spot on the screen

can you recommend a screen protector for the galaxy nexus ? i saw the liquid-armor reviews on youtube and it looks promising .. want to get rid of a small scratch
Today I noticed a VERY long and rather deep scratch on my galaxy nexus's screen that i didn't have yesterday. I am so sad =/
I had ordered a XO Skin 3 days ago, but seems like it didn't make it in time. I had my GNex in my pocket yesterday, and there were no keys or coins in my pocket. I seriously cannot think of *HOW* this scratch was done.
I was also looking at Displex before applying the XO Skin, since that just covers it up. Can anyone give me some more opinions? Already tried toothpaste, but nothing much happened.

[Q] Galaxy Note 2 Screen Scratches

Hi Everybody, I got to scratch my Galaxy Note 2, and that's bad and quite deep scratches, you can make sounds while passing my fingernails across it, and also the deep ones can serves as rail/ruler if i put my fingernails point on it... while it's turned on i can't really see scratches, just if i look and search for them, but it's there and it's annoying me so much, just so ugly and I gonna tell you how it happened...
I live in China and bought it here, my old phone is a GSII and it broked, i was quite careless about that phone and it dropped down the floor too many times, really, finally last month it stops work caz it brakes the mainboard, after 1 year and 3 months suffering, i never used screen protector and really, SGII screen does not have any scratches that you can see, just if you point it into direct sunlight, but none of them you can feel with your fingers or nails, none of them are deep, if you clean it up it's almost new, so when i got the note 2 the guy was putting on the screen protector and I said, hey, don't do it, this phones doesn't need it... anyways, after almost a month, my friend was asking me if the screen is really strong, i said yes, you can't really scratch it, i put knives, keys and so and it doesn't do anything, so there was a mug in front of me, that i thought it was plastic, and i scratch over the screen and you know what? fuc**ing ceramic/porcelain, I just forgot how strong porcelain can be, my friend said, well done, you got it... well, i fuc**d up my phone and i feel stupid, and just to let you guys know, let your phones far away from ceramic/porcelain, it's really strong against glass. I wanna do something, my options are...
Replace the whole thing, buy a new display module... (too expensive)
Replace just the gray front panel and the glass.. (Replacement touch screen mirror << i found this in a website dnt knw if its the front glass)
buy some screen protector that can fill the scratches (if I replace the glass I will buy one anyways
take it to a glass store and ask them to resurface (dnt knw if they will do it and also seems that before the glass, the surface is not really glass, there is some cover on it)
Well i need suggestions and perhaps answer my doubts above if possible. Appreciate this forum.
Thank you,
Junior
I suggest you start using a screen protector. I got one free one with every case I purchased on Taobao, otherwise they're about 15rmb applied down at any phone store.
Gorilla Glass scratches just like any other type of glass.

Yeah, I will buy a nice protector, but i feel that i should do something before it, i think even good protectors will not fill the scratches, so I am thinking about replace the front glass, if I find it, or resurface if its possible, still don't know what are the possibilities on fixing it.
I had good experience with gorilla glass before, it didn't scratch like other type of glass on old phones, but ceramic/porcelain/sand is indeed strong.
Im using screen protector... Gorilla Glass is scratch resistant, not scratch proof

Dude - first thing is that you are abusing your phone device, Second I don't think anyone of us on this forum will ever try running knifes or blades or porcelain mugs on our phone screens..!! If you have heard of bullet-proof glass, they resist bullets up to some extent but then it breaks, it doesn't mean that I'll fire bullets at my car's windshield - so my friend get it repaired - changed whatever but don't abuse your phone display on purpose, they have a Gorilla Glass to save your device from scratches on that one odd day when your phone may suffer an accident...

Screen protectors

Hi Everyone,
Long time off the forum as I haven't had a phone that has warranted any use of this wonderful site.
Picked up a Moto G yesterday and I was wondering what people experiences with and without screen protectors for this device have been. Last "proper" phone was a Galaxy S2 and in the two year it survived it picked up a couple of small scratches, only one of which was visible enough to annoy me and it was dropped a lot, screen down.
My question to you all is that do I really need a screen protector is is this modern Gorilla Glass good enough to warrant not bothering.
Thanks!
(Sorry admin if this should be in Q&A but it feels more pertinent to this forum)

I havent used a screen protector for a while now, feels better and i haven't had a single scratch.
with the gg3, i can't see a reason to use a screen protector. until now, I don`t have any scratches too
I am using matte protectors. I feel more comfortable having one of them on my moto g
i've used a matte protector but the screen looked bad and i took it off.No need for screen protector, only sand can scratch it.
My Moto G fell down one time and now i have like a 3 mm scratch in the display, since then i used this kind of protector http://www.ebay.de/itm/Motorola-MOT...y_PDA_Displayschutzfolien&hash=item3f30f9ff7c and it works best for me
Well, I managed to scratch up my screen within three months of purchase. So I use a tempered glass screen protector and it works pretty well for me except for a crack, the result of it falling screen first twice in five seconds. ?
Sent from my Moto G using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
While the Moto G has great protection from scratches thanks to Gorilla Glass 3, you'll eventually get scratches if you are in an environment where there is sand. Sand will definitely scratch your display, so if you get some sand in your pocket and whatnot there is a high possibility of scratches. I purchased anti-glare screen proctors as I use my phone a lot outdoors and it works great.
Gorrila Glass is still glass and has the risk of damage, either scratches or worse. So its a matter of reducing risk, not a matter of 'do I need it or not'. Perhaps the risk depends on your use and habits, but its always there.
Me personally, it always seems logical to use one. If it can save me from a expensive repair, a ugly scratch or a decreased value in case I want to sell it... why not? I never experienced loss of touch screen functionality.. Especially the tempered glass ones are nice.
Look up nanocoating spray on ebay. This is whats inside the phone but they have a liquid developed for screens that supposedly makes the screen 5 times harder and scratch resistant and water repellant. Molecoat on ebay looks good and they have a video on youtube (thats what sold me) chinese auction but you can get it for $10, thinking about trying it. I always had a screen protector on my phones but hate how it takes away from the sharpness and color from the screen with the "hd clear' ones.
I only use tempered glass protectors. I've abandoned film altogether. There's just no substitute for glass.

Full cover tempered glass with loca adhesive installation

Hey guys, I posted some photos up on the g5 section a while back, I had found an awesome full cover tempered glass for my g5 but only downside was there was no type of adhesive on the inner part of it only the edges and I hate the pressure marks those types of tempered glass cause, so I though why not apply loca just like we do with some screen repairs we do at the shop. Anyway I bought myself a v20 and found that this device also suffered from edge lifting tempered glass like the g5, did some searching in tha inter webs and found a full cover tempered glass for it and dieded to snap a video of my process and share it since I had been asked some time ago when I posted photos up about the g5. Anyway, enjoy =)

Site note, I do believe this can be done on the galaxy edge models, I'm hoping I can convince a coworker to let me do it to his, if I do I'll be sure to share as well.

Ooh! This'll be really useful as I'm definitely interested in glass screen protectors, especially the so-called case-friendly ones. I saw this one by Zagg and I do wonder, with the $50 price tag, is it just as good as the cheaper ones on the market or is it better than those? Like do you get what you pay for, sorta thing.
Was it a wet install

Turns out Caseology cases and ringke slim fit are identical and the Gpel does fir the caseology one. My Gpel video will be up soon. Check out how it fits with all the cases.. It truly does seem compatible with every case I tested...Spigen,caseology,Otterbox,Vrs Designs and a no name ultra slim fit case... If you have any questions please let me know.

I've never like Otterbox cases as I found them to be too bulky for my liking. My limit on thickness is basically the Spigen Slim Armor cares. Also, didn't think I'd like this glass protector anyway, with how all of the sensors are covered...
The Zagg one seems to be similar to the Otterbox one, in how the adhesive is only on the sides of the glass. I remember seeing other people here who got it have VERY mixed thoughts.

Yeah, I had that problem too. Was watching it on my 2nd monitor and had to turn up the volume a lot, since my usual volume for watching vids was too low.
Also, can't wait to see the GPEL review. Funny enough, I saw the protector on Amazon... and it has some very mixed reviews.....

Hey, the key to the wet installs are soaking them with water.. The way I always do it ..and I get a perfect install everytime.. no dust no bubble..just pure perfection... Go into your bathrrom... clean a workspace large enough to work on.. IE your sink.. clean the sink..wash your hands very well.. First turn the shower on and make it nice and steamy hot.. your phone will love the romantic environment!! ( just kidding) after there is a lot of steam all the dust particles will be out of the air.. Now you can get to work!.. Clean your screan with the wet cleaning solution and make sure you have some of that dust removal stickers they give you.. I have also youse brand name scotch tape very gently to avoid the residue sticking.. you just want to make sure all the particles are off your screen.. make sure your phone is off.. Once your sure all the particles are off the screen.. douse your screen with the wet solution and douse the back of your new protector with it as well.. the wetter the better :good::good: after that's done line up your screen protector..use a point of reference.. like the sensors or the ear peace and the bottom. once its lined up ... start applying it slowly...don't be afraid to drag it.. since you pretty much submerged it .. should slide nice.. get a credit card and start gentlely pulling the water from the center out little by little.. done worry that its soaking wet and the air is full of steam in 1-3 days all that moisture will be gone gone gone.. the edges might need a little finess sing to get them to stick down.. if they are not sticking. Make sure its wet enough.. the curves like the wetness ...make sure all the air bubbles are out.. once your satisfied they are gone... let your screen dry.. it should take about 8-12 hours to really set and in 24 hours your safe to put a case on it... 48 hours all the little bubbles or mini halo effects should be gone.. always works for me !! hope this helped!
