Do you want miui or just a rom, because there are oreo versions out for this phone.

ROM's from Xiaomi.eu are custom ROM's based on official Xiaomi ROM's.
They're no pre-rooted but you can do it easily installing Magisk using TWRP like I do every week on weekly ROM's [emoji6]

Yo can also install Globe Rom MIUI based, very customizable. And it can be pre-rooted, give it a try.

Oh that's good to know
What's customized about them?
And what more you'd recommend - eu roms or miglobe ones?
Thanks

Trust me xiaomi eu rom is almost as stable as official yet feels custom enough.
All the other roms don't have loyal maintainer and they leave interest after publishing few updates. You can check every thread yourself.

Yet most of them are more stable than MIUI 9 and their offsprings....
People seem to want an update every single day and if there is not an update then the rom is death or something....
They seem to forget that most companies leave the phone stuck with old version of android for years..... For example Samsung, LG, Sony, Motorola, etc

Who says miui 9 is unstable? Don't talk without proof.
I'm using miui 8.1.25 and many older nougat versions also used, no stability issues rather you get annoying issues on aosp based roms
My only gripe to MIUI is the way they handle notifications. I mostly check notification from lock screen, sometimes replying from there. And I love how stock Nougat/ Oreo handles them. MIUI is just crappy in comparison. Unless there's something changes from the early days of MIUI 9.

Proof?? Just go to xiaomi forums abd miui.eu forums. There you will have a good amount of proof.
To begin with 8.1.25= Poor battery life, issues with calling using BT headsets among others..

Absolutely. I ditched MIUI and Mi6 for that reason only. I cannot understand why someone actually puts a lot of money and resources into making UI worse, while they can simply take AOSP and make everyone happy. On the other hand, all custom ROMs are disfunctional and as such useless, even though they would be the way to go as they are based on AOSP.
i didnt try too many aosp roms, but i tried crdroid 8.1 a few days ago. i couldnt find anything wrong, except for selinux permissive. i imagine all aosp 8.1 roms run in permissive for now? other than that, no wierd drain, camera works, phone charges. i only tesetd it for a day, but in that time everything worked

EU ROM's are always the best choice, even more than Stock, EU team always do a really good job sometimes fixing bugs from stock.
But if you want Mi-globe.com features, installing their ROM is the best way to have them, they're already integrated most of them.

Mi6 doesn't have Global rom yet. This is a fake rom.
Please try stock china rom or you can unlock bootloader and try "EU rom" or "Multi rom". Both roms are the best of mi6 now.

Error.
8.0.2.0 is indeed a fake room, yes, but is based on real 7.5.x global beta/developer
Actually, we have officially a 7.6.8 global for sagitari, (yes, beta, but work perfectly)
http://bigota.d.miui.com/7.6.8/miui_MI6Global_7.6.8_bf2b148f58_7.1.zip
and a 7.6.15 in two days.
About viber issue, should be fixed in the next release.
checked a post in tapatalk. I installed manually version 6.3.1.63-120 (google it for apk) and it worked fine. I know that this is not normal procedure and we should have all the updates available in hand but... nonetheless... it works now.
There is new version of Viber...is this version working OK
Its thd 3rd week of April. When can we expect the official MIUI 9.5 Update for redmi note 5 pro?? Every other Mi device has received the same I guess.
I was waiting for the update too but I ended up flashing the leaked Stable ROM. This update is the most useful update. I was used to Android's stock notification panel. MIUI until now lacked the inline reply features and grouping.
MIUI 9.5 fixes almost all of gripes about the ROM. Gesture based navigation is so good to use. Overall this should have been in the launch of RN5P, If you can't wait, just flash it. You won't regret it.:good:
My China version gets Oreo out of the box lol.

Here in xiaomigeeks.com, the codename of the device is written as "WHYRED-GLOBAL" and the chipset as "sdm660". But I think the Redmi Note 5 Pro (Indian Variant - code name as "Whyred") has chipset "sdm636". It`s confusing. Would you clear the confusion.

The rom is super smooth. Unlike any previous versions the oreo update is by far more convenient with iphone style full screen gestures, new stock like notifications shade and many improvements. And apparently it also supports dual 4g i.e. you can use two 4g sims simultaneously ( tested by some users, yet to be tested by me). The only bug i encountered is with the video recording. In video recording mode, the camera completely looses focus and stays like that. You have to restart the camera app again. This also happens sometimes in potrait mode also where it becomes hard sometimes to focus. These minor issues are expected to be fixed in the official release of this build. Else everything flies.
Regarding flashing. I flashed the rom just after unlocking bootloader and installing twrp so my data was already wiped. But nevertheless you can easily dirty flash the rom over 9.2.7 through twrp. Also dont forget to flash the lazyflasher zip file as well.

Yep! Same old, same old1 Unfortunately this kind of behavior is not uncommon for Xiaomi! Why they need this is beyond me! Let me just say that for such a big company this is disappointing and definitely not something what give us confidence to buy their phones and other products in the future. I mean, what's the point?! You buy something and then you hope that they give you fair amount of updates on regular base?! Just around corner but never there! C'mon Xiaomi!!!

yes as long as you stay in the ARB4 if you go 9.5.17.0 thats ARB3 then youll brick.
flash anything that is on ARB4.
my questions are similar to (kabir2014) questions., they might seem quite basic but I am getting confused the more I read about anti rollback.
1) Is it ok to go from Stable to developer rom, as stable Roms are normally “Ver 9” and Dev normally “Ver 8” which would mean going backwards to a lower Ver number?
2) I guess going from Dev Rom to stable Rom is ok as the Version number goes up?
3) I have read that it is ok to go from an Anti 4 rom to an Anti 4 rom, So are Anti 4 Roms identifiable in some way, or is it purely anything after a certain Rom Number...
@bryfly Stable roms have a version number, beta roms use a date string to identify them. (Y.M.D).
hi,
I stopped using miui after the first arb4 release so I'm on arb3 with various custom roms. I never flashed firmware since then and I'm not sure if I did right with that. should I ever flash firmware? is it even save? the thing is, I often got problems with the wifi and it spans through every single rom miui9 / 10 back then and all oreo / pie roms. could a newer firmware fix it or does all this rom have their own firmware which is enough?
Firmware = ROM.

I dont know, but i never cared much for ARB. I mean every rom released by xiaomi in future gonna be atleast ARB4, so i dont see a single reason for staying on ARB3. And even if you do want to downgrade to old miui rom of ARB3, its easy, just dont flash firmware and you good.
