Fuchsia OS on any Android - LG G6 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Fuchsia OS – Google’s new operating system under development which is based on Flutter SDK, it has got a “Card” like UI with more focus on minimalism. A few months ago, its preview app was released by the developers known as Armadillo for Fuchsia. It was just to see how the new OS from google will look like and was pretty much unusable.
I made a video on how to get Fuchsia OS on any Android, in which I used Nova Launcher Prime, KLWP, Tasker, Secure Settings, Substratum and Pixel Icon Pack. So I basically made a working, fully functional theme of Google's Latest OS in development Fuchsia OS.

[Q] Why isn't there a theme app for android like winterboard for iOS?

hey everyone,
I'm fairly new to this forum since i just got my first android device. i've been an iPhone user since 2007 and I'm absolutely loving android so far. One problem i'm having is theming the device is awful there are plenty of theme types , themes for launchers , themes for odexed roms and themes for deodexed roms. it just makes life so much harder specially if you're a new user.
for those who don't know what winterboard does, according to google "previously known as SummerBoard, you will use it in order to apply different themes and visual tweaks to your iPhone or iPod Touch.."
now the way winterboard works is simple, the iOS device has images stored in system/UIimages .. what winterboard does is basically backup the system images and applies new images stored in var/mobile/themes. If the image is there it reads it from var/mobile/themes if not it reads it from system/UIimages that way you'll never mess with the system files even if you decide to delete winterboard from you're device.
Now before you start hating on me , i know JKAY v11 mod is available but it is very limited in the amount of customization you can do. I mean this forum is full of brilliant developers , why can't you come up with a universal way of theming devices?
sorry to bore you with all this info but i really hope to see something like winterboard for android devices soon
I agree tho.

I agree but these things just take time. I am very satisfied with CM7 And the themes I downloaded. The developers here are concentrating on making Roms more stable and fixing bugs. In CM7 If you download themes yourself there is an in built theme Chooser which makes it simple to choose themes. If you would rather customize your own Themes use the UOT KITCHEN.
Hope you enjoy Android

Until there is a universal theme app, I suggest using miui rom
They took themeing to a new level

+1 totally agree.
There's always ninja/metamorph/villainthemes. But even those three do nothing to simplify the single most frustrating element of android theming: 9.pngs.
Until somebody whips up an easy editing tool for the 9s, especially on device, theming will be hard.
I kinda get what the OP is talking about though, but unlike winterboard (which, however people like to deny it, saps resources like nobody's business), android theming so far is just patching up system files with practically zero resource overhead in actual use.

Thing about winterboard is layers , you can select multiple themes to apply and depending on which order you put them in, they theme different stuff. And really , if you are using an i4 or above you won't notice any slowdown at all. Even with several different themes applied. Just my experience. Its really great I wish theme chooser would be ported to tw roms ! Or universal even better.

I agree MUIU roms are brilliant but i personally never tried them, i'm just waiting for the official release for S II. It should be out in a month.
I know dev's are too busy trying to make roms stable but the question is how many stable roms do we need ? instead of having all sorts of roms each containing their own customization package , why not make your life easier and develop a 3rd party application that does the job for you.
I just don't get it , the dev's are spending so much time coming up with rom compatible mods and themes which needs a lot of testing and time. I personally use the revolution rom and i love it, one problem i faced twice is bootloop after flashing a theme because the themes were not compatible with the rom take in to consideration i flashed them from the revolution kitchen. I dont blame leomar for that in fact big props for him for the amazing work , the guy just doesn't have time to check the compatibility of each theme on the forum.
Besides theming, there's still no simple way of renaming apps on Android. Wasn't Android supposed to be an open platform unlike iOS?

Google requiring default 'Holo' theme in Android 4.0

Google requiring default 'Holo' theme in Android 4.0 devices for Android Market access. I know its more for 3rd party apps, but this is the first true step in a consistent UI across different devices. LOVE IT.
http://http://www.theverge.com/2012/1/3/2680410/google-holo-theme-android-4-0-required
As most outlets have reported, this isn't going to do anything to stop Sense, TouchWiz, MotoBlur, etc.. It'll help with 3rd party app consistency but we'll still see horrible UI overlays, and those are the big things that make Android inconsistent.
Yeah, this makes me happy. The annoying part of trying to design a nice UI around the standard Android widgets is that unless you have every device skin available for testing, you have no idea how it is going to look, requiring developers to design their own UI elements just for a consistent look.

One too many "http://"s there
Try this:

Terminators run on Android...
Define horrible UI overlays. Everyone has their own stylistic touches and it just so happens that Sense is all about adding gradients and aligning itself closer to the light Holo theme. While this is great news for consumers everywhere with the chance to de-Sense, de-Motoblur, de-TimeScrape and de-Touchwiz their phones, you have to be more excited about the fact it'll promote more consistent designing of apps in the market and that's something to get excited about. There are a good few apps that just have an out of place feel.

New Google Feed

The new Google feed has appeared on my device, running AOSPA 7.3 with the ODR-4023739 build of the pixel launcher. Curious thing is, it hasn't showed up in the Google app, maybe it never will.
Do you guys like the new feed? Has it come to your device yet?
(I'm assuming this can go in Robin general because it has to do with the Robin)

I am also running AOSPA 7.3 and build ODR-4023739 of the Pixel Launcher. I like the new feed, it's not a huge change, but it shows news and personalized information better without scrolling as they've cleared the large google logo and search box, I personally like that. I suspect the google app won't have this design due to those changes, searching is still quick as ever, but as I stated before; news, weather, public transport timetables, etc, are shown better from a swipe.
Also, it still looks good in black xP.
Looks good.
Me too on PA 7.3.0 but with the launcher it comes with it.
Maybe it is just for the Pixel launcher.
P.S. : Even though YOU have it in your Robin, I don't think this goes in General because generally this won't be in Robin. Just saying.

Laptop style UI for Pixel C

Anyone know of any development work being done along the lines of PhoenixOS or RemixOS for Pixel C?
I would love to have more of a "laptop" style UI on my Pixel C.
I have seen Leena Launcher, and though that is going in the right direction, it isn't nearly as nice as the launchers on PhoenixOS or RemixOS. It also didn't seem very stable.

remix os in fully available - go to google and have a search of "remix os for Pixel C" and you will find it
Download the app "Sentio Desktop" from the google play store. The team behind it are ex google engineers, who designed the UI for their own hardware android Laptop, but the app runs on any android device and looks quite nice on the Pixel C

Question Fully compatible launchers

Hi,
I use two devices on a daily basis: Pixel 6 pro and 7 pro. One more test and the other as a daily driver.
I wonder what launchers you use. Pixel launcher seems to me a bit limited when it comes to functionality and appearance. I tried the pixel launcher mod, but it seems to be moderately stable and still doesn't give you the option to set any grid size. The app drawer is sprawled out enormously, the gaps between apps are large, and everything is narrow and weird.
I'm just used to using the nova launcher and lawnchair. Since 2014 I was using nexus 6 and pixel devices later.
Now in (almost) 2023 both nova launcher and lawnchair seem to be out of date even in current test builds: nova launcher 8 beta and lawnchair 12.1 dev (quickstep doesn't work anyway).
So a question for power users who like customization to the limit. How are you doing with the current pixel launcher monopoly? what do you use?
It sounds like you're looking for a customizable and stable launcher for your Pixel 6 Pro and 7 Pro devices. While I don't have personal experience with either of these devices, I can recommend some popular launcher options that you may want to consider.
One option is the Action Launcher, which offers a variety of customization options and features a "Quickstep" interface that allows for easy switching between apps. Another option is the Microsoft Launcher, which allows for deep customization and integrates with Microsoft services like OneDrive and Your Phone.
If you want to stick with a launcher that's developed by Google, you may want to try the Google Discover Launcher. This launcher allows for some customization and integrates with Google services like the Google Assistant and Discover feed.
Ultimately, the best launcher for you will depend on your personal preferences and needs. I recommend trying out a few different options to see which one works best for you.

I would say hardly a monopoly, but the pixel launcher is so limited it's infuriating. Which is why I use Nova Launcher (current beta) despite, in your opinion, it being out of date.
https://lawnchair.app/ try it it's the best
Nova...works...whats the problem here?
General comment, becuase i see this "but this software/app is out of date" thing far too often on here...
I dunno why some people think stuff is "out of date" because of the date since last build
Mostly millennials and gen-zer's...want a new version of something every 6 months because they think evil CrApple release schedules should apply to literally everything....*head shake*...we really have devolved as a species
People of my age consider things out of date when they stop working......but then we're not the worst (and most spoiled) generation ever made...
Stop creating issues that dont exist, use Nova, it works fine....

For the most part, I use the launcher included with the system.
When I do change, I use Nova or Lawnchair.
Note: I bought Nova Prime quite a few years ago.
Cheers.

phew. That's a bit of a far-reaching conclusion. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the Nova launcher because it's great to use. But consider the animation quality when changing running applications, expanding the application drawer or, for example, the lack of themed icons. Lawnchair has gone a step further and is more modern. I've been using Nova Launcher Prime for almost 10 years, but while using Pixel Launcher for a while, I had the impression "oh, that's how it should work, very nice". Also, I think you misjudged me a bit. In 3 months I will be 33 years old, so I am far from the generational groups you mentioned and their approach to stimuli and novelties.

I also got Nova Prime and used it quite a bit in different roms and devices.
Switched to Lawnchair version 12.1.0 Alpha 4 and will never switch back. This launcher helps with so many things; one of them was a magisk module I used about a year ago.

I'm on a lawnchair right now. it's really great and basically comparable to pixel launcher. It is a pity that the android 13 magisk module does not work. I use the dev version of the launcher. Do you see any advantage of the alpha version over the dev version?
I use nova launcher, no bugs and it has a lot of customization

Yes, this one is exactly what I'm in using now in my Pixel 6 pro and it's really working well.
Pixel Launcher Extended looks very promising.
I stand by Microsoft launcher. I've got an ms 365 personal and business subscription. The backup feature is useful. I use windows 11 so it syncs my notes from to-do etc.
Its not everyone's cup of tea but it's the best launcher I've used personally
