have you enabled camera 2 api?
if yes then stock camera won't work.
If the camera 2 api is magisk module then you can delete it & it'll work.
If it's system flashes file then clean flash the stock rom.
it'll work...!!
in iniro-rom i have the problem, too. When I tap on HDR, the task ist stopped. Camera 2 api is not installed.

Does anyone have the file for this in apk format? I was on an AOSP ROM and installed the lenovo super camera. However now I've gone back to stock and my camera app is crashing. It looks like its trying to boot the lenovo camera, but this only works in aosp. An apk for the camera or any knowledge in how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!
I am guessing you did not clean flash the new ROM and that is why you are having issues with the camera.
And to answer your question such an apk does not exist yet.
How to properly activate camera2 api on PEP? When I'm installing patch I cant use camera in applications witch don't use camera2 api
Just flash the Camera2api.zip from respective xda thread and you will be good to go. I have tried this and it's perfectly working

Download buildprop editor and use it to edit your build.prop
Add this line-
"persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1"
And save it.
Reboot
I just flash the zip in TWRP and it worked fine. If you use Magisk, there is a module that does this.

i assume you are using PE Rom , could you please share the Google camera link , there are too many floating around . Mine crashes, inspite of enabling Camera2 api.
How do i change the default camera to GCAM in pixel experience rom? Front camera doesnt work on other apps like messenger and instagram if i use GCAM.
Uninstall Camera2api from magisk
Then reboot and flash this module in magisk
https://drive.google.com/open?id=145LmmTJB2yt5QJ5AHgZza1AI6FuGWQbf
This will allow you to use the Gcam as well as Miui stock camera and the front cam will also work on other apps.
Also I use this Gcam

I did try many gcams and most of them give me black photos or they crash when I switch to front camera.
Also, I dont understand why if I installed PixelExperience to get the GCam, instead i got the Miui cam...
running RR pie rom (no kernel, w/ magisk) and a gcam mod (stock miui camera not installed because of patch)
quick question: prortrait won't work and doesnt blur background, neither does in gcam. what should I do so it works?
thanks in advance.
