Any instructions? I download this app, but i can only open .ffu file and look on packages and not save it...
How to construct .ffu?
(fingers crossed) Would this tool mean that custom SPLs are not necessary to loading customized roms? I'm really hoping so that I can get an interop unlocked rom on my HTC Arrive, but since there are no custom SPL/HSPL for the device, it seems development of any roms for it have stalled as well.

Are you saying that, once u add those read and write sectors and other stuffs that is linked to flashing, everyone can flash custom Roms with the need of HSPL? Or any hacking? Will it be possible?

i think it's for their business, bbk (mother company of oppo, vivo, and oneplus) only release kernel source code for oneplus
oppo and vivo for average user without tweaking oriented
oneplus for high performance phones and android geeks
That means i can't install lineage os 15.1 or 16
On my vivo v9????
We just wait for hacker user to unlock bootloader
This so dumb. It sucks. Still waiting how to unlock bootloader and root the phone

1. install this: http://api.en.miui.com/url/MiFlashTool
2. download this: https://en.miui.com/download-354.html (Download Full ROM)
3. unpack tgz file so you see files with *.bin extension
4. enter fastboot mode (turn off the device, press the volume– key and the power button at the same time, then connect the device to the PC with a USB cable, you need correct drivers (probably included in MiFlashTool))
5. run MiFlash, pick correct folder where rom files are and press Refresh if you see your device and then press flash with clean all option selected (ofc it will delete all your data)
i think it work moreless as is described above, for more info use google or this link: http://en.miui.com/thread-960590-1-1.html (ignore that unlocking steps its for MIUI phones) and this http://en.miui.com/a-234.html

I have not tried to flash the mi a2 lite yet but when I have done it on the redmi note 4 you could flash it unlocked with a custom rom. If it was already locked and you were trying to flash the same version of the official firmware it would not flash, so my advice would be try flashing it locked and if that doesn't work unlock it and try again. The point being either locked or unlocked it will not brick your phone unless the flashing process is interrupted.

Yeah that's what I thought but it might be possible that it also works on Android One, the tool probably just runs the shell/bash scripts inside the ROM folder and I guess those are adjusted for every release (at least I hope so)

if it's mtk soc, you may want to give mtkclient a go, it's been unlocking alot of mtk bootloaders
for those it may concern, i have a spare tcl a2x , tested root and bootloader unlock via mtkclient and it is indeed working.
so tldr; if you want to root a tcl a2x use mtkclient

Sure, i can post the fastboot image i have if you want to try
I have a TCL A508DL and I have the bootloader unlocked using mtkclient. I'm about to patch the boot.img in the stock ROM to see if I can get magisk working like I did on my Galaxy A31. Will get back to you when I see progress
Here you go! Magisk on the A508DL. Here's a dump of the firmware as well. Just use mtkclient's GUI to flash the firmware. Also, use this apk of magisk to patch the boot.bin for it to work. It's patched for mediatek. I got it from https://github.com/bkerler/mtkclient so it's trustworthy.
