No, you'll have to unlock the bootloader

Is your phone bootkoader unlocked?
If so then flash recovery( you find it development section)
And then you abel to boot recovery.

to check the bootloader
go to the dial pad and write *#*#7378423#*#*
go to Service info>Configuration
you will see it at the bottom...

If it shows nothing at the top, then it has never been unlocked nor updated to unlock.

HTC added the unlock capability in a later iteration of hboot. I believe you need to update hboot before unlocking?

Nope, but your apps will be erased using the RUU. So use the backup if you want to keep them.

I changed my zenfone 2 PIN code and it seems i forgot correct PIN. I don't want to lose any data.
Unfortunately my WiFi and cellular data is off! so i cant reset my PIN with google!!

boot in twrp, mount system , open twrp file manager (advanced>file manager) open data -> system and delete gesture.key and password.key
reboot
input any password and change password from settings
valid only on android 5.x
