If I were to flash that Brazil stock rom on my T-Mobile z2 could I get fm radio? Or does the US T-Mobile version have different hardware. Or does it not have it at all due to no head phone jack?

I asked similar question in different threads, and got different answers
pretty confusing
since the stock ROM from HTC includes radio ROM, I am kinda hesitant to flash my TP2 to CHT-HK ROM
please answer can or can't you keep 3G (AWS only, no 2100) after flashing with HTC stock ROM
Yes, you would still have 3G connection after you flash the Stock ROM (OEM). The 3G bands are Hardware related. Radio and ROMs are Software.
I am not saying this based on the theory... I am a T-Mobile USA TP2 owner and I did flash the Stock ROM form ASIA and I still had 3G connectivity on that ROM.
So Flash away...

GOOD!
will get TP2 for $400, plus activation and tax
will open up a 2 line family plan and 1 year contract, because it goes old really fast
and will flash it with CHT-HK ROM with hardSPL, will donate after it's done successfully
Agree with VizagDude
You will still have 3g once you flash the TMOUS Stock Rom.
Here is a link to the TMOUS Stock Rom I posted.

You are a little misinformed. The radio is hardware and software. There is a hardware part and a software part. The software (radio rom) controls the hardware (the physical hardware radio) in the device.
Yes you will I'm using a Tmo TP2 and its fine, on certain roms it will display an H for HSDPA which is 3G, just I'm pretty sure the US refers to it as 3G.
It is called 3g EVERYWHERE, but the network type is HSPA. HSDPA is specific to JUST down, but pretty much all the 3g networks out there are actually HSPA since they also support HSUPA for the upload.
tested studiokuma Trad Chinese support
it works, but you have to do factory reset if you want to remove
looking at getting a gt i9000m vibrant (not captivate) from canada unlocked to use in the usa on at&t.. now that unlocked ones are avail. on ebay.
can someone tell me do i need to flash a special modem to continue to get 850mhz 3g (that is why i am buying to replace stock euro i9000)...
or can i just flash the normal jm5 and jm6 with the jm3 included modem?
thanks
No any international fw will work.
All fw has all bands if the hardware is there it simply enables it.
Hope this information helps
thanks i thought so since on the f/w site there were no specific f/w's for this model.. as there are for captivate.. but wanted to make sure.

Hello guys! I'm thinking of buying a Harman Kardon SIM unlocked M8, but I've one serious question.
Is every ROM/Kernel cross flashable? Can I flash everything here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/development) on it?
Sorry for the noob question, but please help me!
Harmon Kardon edition is Sprint, which is a US carrier with a CDMA network. Unless your local carrier is CDMA-based, I would not advise buying this version. The HK edition is known as a "CDMA" variant (along with the Verizon version). Yes, it does include some GSM support (mainly for Sprint customers while travelling abroad) but its different hardware from just about every other M8 version (which are known as "GSM" versions of the M8).
For the HK edition, you should only flash ROMs specifically intended for the Sprint variant. And that is part of the reason I would not recommend buying this version. Your choice or ROMs would be more limited, and you are better off with a "GSM" M8. Also, radios are interchangeable on the GSM versions, but can't be flashed to the CDMA variants. Meaning for the most part, band compatibility is set on the CDMA version, while on the GSM version, you can flash radios from other carriers and change band compatibility (if you need to do so to get service on your local carrier).
The HK audio mod can be flashed to just about any other M8 version, its just a software mod. So the only desirable thing (if you are not on a CDMA carrier) about the HK edition would be if you like the color scheme, or the HK earbuds.
And no, ROMs and kernels are not all cross-compatible. Sense kernels only work on Sense ROMs, AOSP kernels on AOSP ROMs, etc. Also, you can't mix a KitKat ROM with a Lollipop kernel, and so on. When in doubt, read the kernel thread to check for details.
"The only model having FM Radio chip is D855 and the chip is removed/disabled (pins grounded, etc) in other models like D850, D851, D855 TR, etc".
Is this true? If it is not, than you should be able to listen to FM Radio with Spirit UL app in any model just by rooting or installing a custom rom on it. Right?
If it is partly true, which means some models really have their chip physically removed/disabled but some models have it disabled just at software level, what is the situation for D850 and D851? Chip is there and FM Radio is possible with these models just by rooting or installing custom rom ?
Thanks in advance.
Not sure. I did had FM in LS990.
You had it default or enabled by rooting or installing a custom rom?
